About Owner Patricia Ropp
The Orchard House began as a small photographers cottage down on the shore in Hulls Cove. Some time around the early 1900's the cottage was moved up to the orchard. It escaped the Great Fire of Bar Harbor in 1947 but burned to the ground exactly 50 years later in 1997. We rebuilt the house, bigger this time because our family was growing and now the house's story has seen another change. We look forward to welcoming guests to the Orchard House for a sixth year and for them to enjoy the house and its surroundings and to become part of its story too.

A Hidden Gem
Perfect, lovely, clean and beautiful home with 6 bedrooms, a kitchen equipped for cooking and large dining and relaxing spaces. You feel that you are set back in the country in The Orchard House. You are away from Bar Harbor crowds, but just 2 minutes from the Hull's Cove entrance to Acadia and 2 minutes more to downtown Bar Harbor. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Hope to come back soon.
Very nice home
Very clean spacious home..
five minutes from downtown Bar Harbor
Enjoyed our stay
Great home at Bar Harbor
Huge house with all the privacy you would care for just 5 minutes drive from town. The house was fully equipped with all we needed and the land lord was great. High scores all around
This home is lovely. We had five couples in our group. The home was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable, well stocked and close to Acadia. There are three nice large full bathrooms. One is downstairs. The other two are at the end of the hallway upstairs with the five bedrooms. This was fine for our group, everyone does stairs.
We do a yearly trip often renting two houses on each trip. This is one we would come back to without hesitation.
Thanks for making your home available to rent Pat.
Don't miss this place!!
I would give this house 10 stars if I could! Not only is it beautiful and spotless, it is also an easy 10 minute drive to the entrance to Cadillac Mountain and maybe a 7 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor! You are also a very easy walk away from a beautiful rocky beach in Hulls Cove.
The house has a great layout with a huge living/dining room, a kitchen and a full bathroom downstairs. The second floor has two large full bathrooms and five bedrooms. Then there is a small bedroom up on the third floor (no door - just stairs that lead up to it). That's a lot of rooms, but you don't feel crowded at all. Everything is so spacious and good sized.
Trish was wonderful and has truly thought of everything you could need when you go away. There wasn't one thing that any of us wished we had that wasn't already there. We also figured out that each bed had one flat-ish pillow and one more fluffy pillow (and a third pillow to boot) to ensure that you are comfortable no matter what your preference is!
I have already forwarded the link to this place to three of my friends and plan to see if I can get some family together to go back next year myself.
If you're still not sure, trust me, you won't be sorry!
great stay in Bar Harbor
Excellent property and gracious hostess, Trish. We loved it!
The Orchard House is located in Hulls Cove, it is quiet and secluded yet just 3 miles from Downtown Bar Harbor and a couple of minutes from Acadia National park. At the Hulls Cove General Store you can pick up coffee, a newspaper and grocery items or board the free Island Explorer shuttle bus. The Chart Room Resturant offers delicious dining right on the water or pop into Peppers for pizza and calzones.
Lake Wood is just up the road. It is part of Acadia and a great place to swim. Bullfrogs like it too!
