*PRIVATE BOAT DOCK

*SANDY BEACH ON PROPERTY

Breathtaking 5 Bedrooms/ 5 bathrooms beachfront home on the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, only 6 miles from Traverse City and just 45 minutes to the Sleeping Bear Dunes .

The 5 Bedrooms/5 Bathrooms offers both convenience for your trip, plus comfort for everyone. The cottage is 1500 feet off the road, thereby offering increased privacy. Private, while there used to be 100' of sandy beach along Grand Traverse Bay, in 2016 the water level rose and the beach is now just a sliver. Due to Mother Nature, we can not guarantee the water levels and the size of the beach. Lake Michigan is not a small inland lake. It is vast and even though the cottage is on the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, it still adheres to the great lake levels.. The spectacular sunsets are still captivating and you can truly soak in the beauty of being on the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay. Be a part of the Traverse City fun, yet escape the congestion and traffic by staying in Williamsburg. The wide, open views of Grand Traverse Bay are captivating. Inside this beautiful home/luxury cottage you can escape to the air conditioning and enjoy the gourmet kitchen (with 2 sink locations and cathedral ceilings). There is an evening wine bar that doubles as a breakfast area in the morning.

Wi-Fi, large 60' TV with cable and a Ping-Pong table downstairs makes indoor fun convenient, though you will rarely want to step away from the gorgeous beach and long deck facing the bay. There is even a large office space between the 2 upstairs bedrooms and a large TV in the upper space as well. The office space looks out on the bay with a mesmerizing view. This view takes the sting off of working while on vacation. The office space can double as a toy/game area for kids. Perfect for families to create long-lasting memories!

5 Bedrooms:

Main Floor –

1. Three Beds- 3 twin/single, 2 large closets with a shared bathroom

2. Master Bedroom with a private bath- 1 queen, with a jetted tub and spate shower, large TV

3. Two Twin Beds- 2 twin/single, small TV, closet with a private sliding door to patio

Upstairs -

4. Gold Room – 2 Double, 2 large closets with an adjoining bathroom, small TV

5. Green Room– Cozy Daybed (with a pull-out trundle), 1 Double, comfortable sitting area, love seat, 3 sitting chairs

Each Bedroom has been uniquely decorated. Upstairs there is a small environment center in the Gold Room. The Green room has an ideal special sitting area where great conversations have been had for years, and many years to come. Sit on the day bed, read a book and overlook the bay in the Green Room. Plenty of space to put your clothes away for the week. Two of the main floor bedrooms have a private sliding door that takes you directly out onto the deck, facing the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay. Enjoy your first cup of coffee in peace together on the deck.

Airport: Visit us via the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City (TVC) http://www.tvcairport.com

Beach front: In 2016, the water levels have risen. Our 100 feet of private sandy beach front is now mostly under water. Mother Nature is always in charge of the beach.

Beach toys: Please bring your own. You may be able to find some around the property.

Boats/Watersports: Rental information is available in Traverse City.  You are welcome to use the dock. Please bring your own tie off ropes and bumpers. Please use caution, there are NOT bumpers around the dock.  We have a MANUAL boat hoist.  It works best with small boats or a jet ski.  Please be prepared to turn the handle with strength.

Dock: Even though the water levels are high, you can still use the dock. There are steps off the deck leading into the water. Please use caution when using the dock. There are not bumpers around the dock. You can launch your boat within a mile at the public launch off Yuba Park Road -Sayler Park (There is not a boat hoist.)

Grill: Yes, we have a large propane grill for your use. It is located on the side deck, still facing the bay while you grill.

Internet: Wi-fi is included.

Cable: Yes, there is cable TV.

Kitchen Supplies: Basic supplies are included.

Outside furniture/deck/porch: There is a long, wide outside deck that wraps around the cottage on the south side. The north side of the deck has same-level steps leading toward the front door. There is outdoor patio furniture. There is a patio table with 6 chairs , a table with 4 chairs in the back, near the garden, plus 3 metal chairs. We also have at least 8 other standard, plastic beach chairs for your use on the sandy beach.

Phone: A landline phone is included.

Restaurants: There are soooo many excellent restaurants in the Greater Traverse City area! Too many to count! On the more simple side, I always enjoy the Bayview Inn Restaurant & Pub, just 6 Miles away.

Swimming: Great swimming from the dock, with the nice sandy bottom lake right outside your door. Go from the cottage door to the dock and right into the water. It is shallow immediately around the cabin area. Sayler Beach nearby has the classic wide beach experience.

Beach towels: There are approximately 10 beach towels you may use. It is always best to bring more.

Linens: Are provided (sheets, blankets, comforters, bath and beach towels)

Train: Amtrack Train- Traverse City. (14 Miles Away)

Water: As with most cottage properties, we have well water. We have added a high quality water softener.

Washer & Dryer: Yes-there is a washer and dryer for you to use during your stay.

Loved it! A home away from home experience!

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with the accommodations being in the hospitality business myself I must say this property exceeded my expectations. The house was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need during a trip to Traverse City. The pictures don't do this property justice. We will most definitely be returning! To anyone looking to reserve this house you most definitely get what you pay for!

Excellent Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay (14 ppl - kids & adults)!! The accommodations and lake were perfect! Crystal clear water & peaceful lake, barely any boating activity on it. This gave us peace of mind while letting the kids swim and jet ski. There is a boat/jet ski lift on-site so we didn't have to launch and reload the each day. The house was very spacious and stocked with all the basic necessities. We only left to go tubing & the dunes one day...other than that we didn't leave the house, it was so nice and relaxing we didn't feel a need to leave! We'll definitely be back!

The house is at a great location!!! The terrace is great! The furniture needs updating!!!

  • 3 of 5

Sitting out on the terrace was great. The terrace with the view of the bay would be reason enough to return. The bathrooms were all very nice and in good condition. However, the beds are very uncomfortable! (And some queen beds instead of double beds would be great.)The couch looks and feels worn out. Many of chairs to the kitchen table were broken. The furniture needs to be updated!

We agree that the view is absolutely breathtaking. Please consider renting with Freshwater for your next Michigan vacation. We have 54 waterfront properties to choose from. Thanks again!

If you truly want to relax...............

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous beach front home is about as accurate of a description that this spot deserves. From the long driveway through the woods, to the large spacious back deck. The spacious living room with the open kitchen and dining area, gave our family plenty of room to gather and relax. The incredible view of East bay right outside the large glass windows in the living room brings the sunset right into the home. Everynight the sunset promised to be better than the night before.

It's is obvious that this is a home due to the amenities that the house has to offer. A well maintained grill, to a beautiful kitchen with a professional gas range and and high end appliances, made us feel at home. We got to break in a brand new dishwasher which we found was not kind to fragile wine glasses, sorry about that😢򘠽򘨢.

We were visiting from Oregon attending a family wedding/reunion and were fortunate to find this home available for those dates. We had other, cheaper, options but chose this property because of its location on the bay. And now that our trip is over, I would have to say that the price this property is listed at is worth every single penny. I am not sure you could put a price tag on the memories that were made during our week here.

If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of beach. But I was pleased to see the bay water level back up because it had been so low for so long. The dock and stairs made it extremely easy to get down to the water and the proximity of the home and back deck really made it feel like you were right on the beach. And the petosky hunting was EPIC. We found hundreds, but only took home a few 😜򗀠

And lastly, the drive in to Travers city is just minutes away. The little town of Elk Rapids is just as close. There is wonderful dining, and some good coffee shops and your close to everything you need to make your vacation amazing. Just make sure to get back to the back deck by sunset, or you will be losing value In your rental. There is a nightly show, you just have to be there.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with others. It's truly a relaxing and amazing home. Our families want to do this annually, and they want to do it here. Thank you for that.

Owner's Response: Welcome home to Michigan! Thank you for your wonderful, authentic, thorough review of the Grand Traverse Bay Getaway! I agree, the view is heavenly. You are right, the water level rising is two-fold. I'm grateful the deck is so close to the water that you do feel connected to the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, even with the limited beach area at the moment. Sincerely, Cara

Beautiful home on Grand Traverse Bay

  • 5 of 5

Great house, great location and enough bedrooms and bathrooms for the 8 of us--we were missing 1 person. Kitchen is so very well equipped and I loved the stove!!

The only thing we missed was a fire pit on the beach and I understand why because the lake levels are so high, I don't know where you would put it.

We are thinking ahead for next summer and I will contact you soon.

Owner's Response: Thank you Barbara for taking the time to write a nice review! We are so happy you enjoyed your time along Grand Traverse Bay! I wish there was a way to put a fire pit on the beach, but you are right-the lake levels are just too high. We are currently accepting bookings for 2016~we hope to see you again next year! Take care! Thanks again! Freshwater Vacation Rentals

great house, location, ambience

  • 5 of 5

Rented this home for our extended family of nine and was beautiful and very spacious. House furnishings, amenities and condition were exactly as pictured. Location of home, ON East Grand Traverse Bay and set off from the road by a long driveway was beautiful and relaxing. True up north feel. Would definitely rent again.
