You will love our comfortable South Padre Island condo #721 with very spacious rooms and beautiful ocean and bay views. It has 1660 sq.ft. PLUS 1170 sq.ft. of balconies and a private sun deck with 4 chaise lounges, plenty outdoor chairs, and a wooden picnic table. Included are: A fully equipped kitchen, 2 1/2 bathrooms, washer-dryer, two recliners in front of the TV/Blu-ray DVD player in the living area, a TV in each bedroom, a king size bed in the master, 2 twin size beds in the second bedroom. Amenities provided by Sunchase IV Resort are unique - two pools (one heated), two hot tubs, two tennis courts, two racquetball courts, two ping-pong rooms, a fitness center, library (all air-conditioned). Of course the main attraction at South Padre Island is the beach which attracts swimmers, walkers, fishers, & sunbathers. The walk through the grounds to the beach is short and stores are close by. So come stay in our unit and enjoy coffee and the sunrise on your private 7th floor deck and, after a great day, retire to the sunsets on the 8th floor.

The complex is situated in the center of the top Island resorts, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, Island activities and attractions. There are minibuses called 'Island Metro' that are free of charge to transport you up and down Padre Blvd., the main street on SPI.

There is no need for you to use the public seventh floor sundeck - you have your own private 7th floor sundeck for sunbathing options. A spacious second floor common area offers a cozy environment to meet other guests, read, watch TV, or put together jigsaw puzzles. Enjoy the sandy beaches, excellent for sunbathing, swimming, shell hunting, castle building, kite flying, and leisurely walking. The gulf and bay provide opportunities for surfing, kite boarding, wind surfing, and fishing. Attractions include the Schlitterbahn Water Park Resort. Why The Owner chose Texas Gulf Coast

Our family has been vacationing on South Padre Island and specifically at Sunchase IV since 1996. We always enviously eyed Unit 721 because it offers the best views and all day sunbathing and, if you prefer, there is always a spot in the shade as well. Privacy is also important to us and this unit has probably the best of all the units. Finally, in 2008 we got to stay in it and asked the owner to purchase it right away. It now is our second home and we stay here for all our beach vacations and personally take care of it whenever we are here. In the winter the heated pool allows us to swim (Sunchase IV is one of the few properties on the island with a heated outdoor pool) ... and we love to soak in the extra large Hottub every evening. For us this apartment is perfect and the complex provides us everything we expect.

What makes this condo unique

No car needed. FREE Public transportation (Island Metro) takes you everywhere. Endless beach walks and the choice of 2 pools (one heated) and 2 hottubs (one extra large). The views of the ocean and the bay and especially of the bridge to the main land (we sit in our comfy chairs and watch the sunset and the long bridge over the bay, a boat go slowly by ... live does not get much better than that !!!

Everything was wonderful for our stay at Sunchase IV (Condo 721).

The balcony had fabulous views and the condo was very spacious. We were able to walk to all of the restaurants and shopping so the location was perfect. The people who manage the condominium complex were exceptionally nice and went out of their way to be helpful. Everything turned out perfect! I would definitely stay there again.

It's all about the deck!

We just got back from staying at this property for a long weekend--two mature couples who have been friends since high school looking for a nice space to reconnect. This property is fantastic. I've never encountered decks (yes, plural) as large and beautiful as at this condo. The Gulf-facing deck has a great breakfast table and terrific lounge chairs with a great view of the water. Sunset at the upstairs lagoon-facing deck was spectacular.

There is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it is on a nice trail and not an issue. The property is located walking distance to some wonderful restaurants--Yummies for breakfast; Gabriellas and Russo's for dinner.

The furnishings are functional. The beds were comfortable--sheets and towels high quality. The sofas are a bit odd with a board in them. I actually found them quite comfortable for lying down watching TV (really nice big TV downstairs). There still is an issue with one of the recliners in that it over-reclines when in an upright position. The condo is clean, but not spotless--I might be picky, but there were fingerprints on the lightswitches and the exterior of the fridge could use a good scrubbing. My only other concern is that the design of the building results in decks which are catty-corner to one another. Not great privacy, but we had nice, quiet neighbors when we were there.

I'm glad I had read a review which suggested bringing beach towels. I also wish we had brought beach chairs. There are many chairs on the deck and around the pool, but one needs to bring one's own chair to sit on the beach. The kitchen is well-stocked, including large plastic cups to take down to the pool.

The Sunchase condos have got to be the friendliest condos around. There were lots of winter Texans who had been staying there for a few months for years. The 11:00 am water aerobics class was a hoot. It seems like there was always bridge games going on in the second floor library. That Friday there was a potluck dinner to which all were welcome--even those of us just staying the weekend.

This is an absolutely fabulous property--upstairs bedrooms provide plenty of privacy from those staying downstairs to watch TV or talk. I will definitely book this unit again!

Loved the staying!

First thanks to the wonderful owners of the property. We had a family emergency and almost about to cancel the trip. Talked with the owner; he was sympathetic and flexible with the rental issue. Now about the condo: it's a two floor condo and well maintained and stuffed . We only use two pans but it has everything a family may need for couple of days. They provide hotel like bar soaps in bathrooms and kitchen ; so unlike other places don't need any handsoap right away . They provide hotel like towels in every bathrooms and two trash bags.The other condos have balcony but this one has an additional private deck which is super cool . The top floor balcony over the deck belongs to the top condo but We didn't have anyone renting on top of our condo so we didn't have any privacy issue and enjoyed the deck 200%. Needless to say the condo has super view . The second floor also has a wrap around balcony which shows other side of the island .overall we would love to come back here again and again.

Pros: Great views, well equipped kitchen, spacious, close to good restaurants and the beach, one good rocker/recliner, owner easy to work with. Cons: Couches are hard to sit on for more than 5 minutes--cushions are thin and seemingly on top of boards, one of the rocking chairs needs repair--it throws you backwards, the winter condensation ran down the windows and pooled on the floor in the guest bedroom and got some of our things wet, guest bathroom sink drained very slowly, the coffee pot doesn't turn off, so it was easy to forget and leave on all night, which could be dangerous, had to ask for extra toilet paper several times. The pros outweighed the cons for us, but the couches especially need to be replaced.

Owner's Response: Thank You for your review. We just stayed in our 2nd Home for 6 weeks and took care of the sink, the coffee pot, and the rocking chair. We work very closely with SPRR (they also do the check in for us) located in the adjacent building, right on the island, and any issues can be reported to them for an immediate fix. They do provide a starter kit only though for the bathrooms, like toilet paper. Due to the winter condensation on the island we have been providing our winter guests a dehumidifier which we use when the weather gets cold. We will also start to provide extra rags in those month to catch any additional condensation should they be needed. The couches are only hard to sit on if you do not remove the boards which we use due to the fact that we 1) prefer to sit a little higher and 2) to sleep on when we have extra guests. They can easily be removed and placed behind the 2nd couch if you prefer to sit soft or sleep on the sofa sleeper. We were happy to read that you enjoyed our Ocean views and our 2nd home overall.

Great location, awesome views, comfortable home

This 7th floor condo has awesome views of both the gulf beach and the bay. You can follow the sun from one of the multiple balconies or the extra large terrace. The windows are huge so there are great views from every room. I like the big open concept kitchen/dining/living room. The bedrooms are far enough away from the living space that they are very quiet. Each bedroom has its own in-room bathroom for maximum privacy. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, a dishwasher, and of course a view! The building is located where the action is on SPI so you can walk to many restaurants. There's a path directly to the beach. The facilities have an extra large hot tub, a heated pool, and a gym. I can't wait to go back next year!
