About the property

3 BR / 2 BA mountain home with game room and Jacuzzi

Relax on the wrap-around deck with a glass of wine enjoying views of your private forested valley, or soak in the Jacuzzi while the kids play pool or darts in the game room!! The 'Tree House' is perched atop a mountain ridge overlooking dense pine forest, a nature trail, and a small pond that wildlife frequent.

Keep the family entertained with our hot tub, pool table, darts, WiFi, poker chips, flat screen TV with Direct TV, and Legos galore. Kid friendly with booster seat, porta-crib, stroller, and infant swing. Prepare your own meals in our fully equipped kitchen (owner Scott is a chef by hobby). Gas BBQ is on the covered deck to enjoy any time of year.

Two bedrooms upstairs each with a queen bed; downstairs bedroom has a bunk bed (sleeps 3); and a queen size sofa bed in game/TV room.

Note that our neighbors are building a house this summer/fall and construction activity may be active during your stay. Thus far the noise level has been minor and this inconvenience is factored into our pricing.

Prices are subject to change until booking is confirmed.

About Scott MacComb

Scott and Dana are the proud owners of the Tree House in Flagstaff, Arizona. We live in Phoenix, Arizona with our two kids and three dogs. After growing up and attending college in California we moved to Arizona to start our careers and our family. After years of visiting Flagstaff to balance against the Phoenix heat and desert landscape, we have finally been able to purchase this mountain retreat and excited to share it with you.

Scott MacComb purchased this house in 2014

Why Scott MacComb chose Arizona

We have enjoyed Flagstaff for many years and selected this mountain retreat because of its secluded location and views. We think it's the best lot in Kachina Village and hope you agree.

What makes this house unique

With one of the best views in Kachina Village, you will enjoy relaxation beyond belief.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Place is in excellent condition. Love the hand written welcome note that we found on the house when we arrived. The area is very quiet and a great place to stay and relax.

Downtown Flagstaff:

The historic downtown area of Flagstaff is generally bounded by Humphreys St. on the West, Agassiz on the East, Birch Ave on the North, and Butler Ave. on the South. Parking can be challenging – either look for street parking or find one of the several public parking lots throughout the area.

Skiing (Snowbowl):

Check out Northern Arizona’s ski area. Lift tickets, snow conditions and other information can be found by calling (928) 779-1951.

Sledding:

Several sledding hills are available within the area. Here is a list of our favorites. Please exercise caution at all of these locations.

• Kachina Village: although not an official sledding area, local residents and visitors enjoy sledding at the intersection of Kachina Trail and Ancient Trail. Drive back toward the freeway but continue on Kachina Blvd past the “T” intersection and turn left on Ancient Trail. You can park along the road at the intersection of Kachina Blvd and Ancient Trail.

• Crowley Pit: Head north on I-17, through the town of Flagstaff to Hwy 180. Go approximately 9.8 miles on Hwy 180(about 1 mile past the Flagstaff Nordic Center), turn left at the parking sign (mile post 233), and continue to the parking area. (The only sign for Crowley is a 'Parking' sign-- no other indication.)

Flagstaff Nordic Center:

During the winter months, this center offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking. Equipment rentals are available on-site.

Location: Hwy 180 at mile marker 232 (west of the Snowbowl exit).

(928) 220-0550.

Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course:

Experience nature up close and personal in this 4-circuit adventure course that offers rope swings, scrambling walls, hanging nets, wobbly bridges and suspended surprises. They also have a kid’s course designed for ages 7 and up.

Location: 2446 Fort Tuthill Loop Road, Flagstaff, Arizona 86001. (888) 259-0125

Great place, comfortable house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a great location and setting. Right outside of flagstaff but it still feels like you're in a nice cabin in the woods. Overall very relaxing and comfortable. Enjoyed the stay and will be recommending it in the future.

Basement smelled like pet urine. Carpet looked 20 years old.

  • 2 of 5

No bathroom down stairs and next to active construction site which work started at 7am. Missing a pool table ball . NOT fans.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay and thank you for alerting us to some items needing our attention. The house is precisely as described. The downstairs is a finished basement space so it gets a faint "damp" smell at times, and no there is no bathroom downstairs, but we provide night lights so little ones can find the restroom at night. We will look into the condition of the carpet, but haven't had any other complaints about it. Extra pool table balls are in the garage just for this type of situation where one goes missing. If you had let us know we could have explained where to find them. The construction next door is disclosed on our listing and is active during the weekdays - they take weekends off thankfully.

Great place for a family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed recently at the tree house for an extended weekend to celebrate our daughters bday. Couldn't beat getting out of Phx heat and only a couple hours drive. The house was very well equipped for cooking a large meal which we did. Kachina village is growing but still makes you feel like you're away from the city life. We enjoyed the patio and the spa was a hit to cap off our evenings. Thanks for a nice and memorable stay.
