We had an amazing time staying at Matt and Carol's cabin. Everything and more was there for us to use. Matt was in contact from the beginning and made the whole process very smooth. Couldn't have asked for a better trip!
The cabin is really nice with great amenities. Lots of tv's, washer/dryer in the cabin, lots of sitting space. We really didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin. We spent most if our time exploring Colorado, then coming back at night to fix a quick dinner. The kitchen is a fully functioning work space. It has LP gas stove and oven, big fridge, microwave, toaster, a traditional coffee maker and a Kuerig machine. The only downside was in the pictures it showed a dishwasher, but no dishwasher listed in the cabin's list of amenities. When we were ready to fill the dishwasher, we opened it up and two signs inside said it was out of order and that we had to the dishes "the old fashioned way". Not a big deal as we used limited dishes. But would have been nice for convenience. The last thing that was negative but totally NOT the owners fault, but maybe should have been warned. The roads to the cabin are NOT paved. They also have ripples in the road every 2 inches (either by design or by snow maintenance vehicles). This makes the final ride to the cabin VERY unpleasant, by shaking and rattling your car until it almost falls apart. But, otherwise I give the cabin a 9 out of 10 stars. The owners are very helpful and really want you to have a great, relaxing time.
Entire experience was wonderful. Matt was there to answer my questions, make suggestions and just made the entire process a breeze. Cabin was very nice!!! With amazing views...loved loved it. If I could give more stars I would :)
What great hosts with great communication, and a wonderful cabin.
This was our first stop on our honeymoon in Colorado, and it certainly set the bar high! The cabin is perfect, you have post card views from every window in the town. It's a short drive from Buena Vista which is a really cool town, with some good places to eat. Everything was extremely clean, tidy, and organized. The wood stove was awesome, I was very surprised by how warm it kept the cabin on windy and snowy nights (they do have central heat as well). Really the only thing better than the cabin itself, were the owners. They were the most HELPFUL and Accomodating rental property owners I have ever dealt with. They literally thought of everything. For folks not familiar with the area, they have a binder full of information for you. While they were very helpful they were NOT over bearing over their beautiful home. They made it clear it was ours for the weekend, and gave us our privacy. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. We will be back!
This cabin is the quintessential Colorado escape. It has a peaceful and secluded feel but with the modern amenities of home. My wife and I visited the first weekend in October and had the most amazing time. The location is perfect for hiking, shopping, or visiting other towns. We visited Breckenridge for a day of shopping. Another day was spent driving over Independence pass to Aspen Colorado. With the leaves changing and stunning views, it was the most astonishingly beautiful drive of my life. If you are looking for a getaway spot that lets you choose peaceful relaxation, adventure or any combination of the two, this is the spot. We absolutely loved our stay and will return time and again.
