We are originally from the east coast specifically Massachusetts and New Hampshire and moved to California in 1988. We have 4 daughters that have grown up in our home and the older three make it a point to return with college friends to enjoy our home and the beautiful Solana Beach area.
The Owner purchased this house in 1996
We remodeled the property in 1996 and improved in 2000 and 2007 to fit in the casual Southern California lifestyle with an easy back yard environment creating a private oasis of fun and relaxation. With stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, it is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail. Solana Beach is a close community with fun restaurants and beach along with the well-known Belly Up music venue which attract the best musicians from Southern California and beyond. Numerous attractions around San Diego County are mere minutes away along with many other destinations in the greater Southern California area; perfect for quick day trips.
This property provides all the fun & excitement of quaint coastal beach living with the added benefit of a spacious property of extraordinary ocean views and in addition a private resort feel with the pool, slide, cabana, poolside jacuzzi, tiki torch lighting and outside fireplace perfect for capping your night with your favorite glass of wine ..If you are in to basketball, there is a half court nestled in the further back yard with night lights to keep the fun going
I stayed here with my family for a reunion last week and we had an amazing time. Really spacious for a large group, nice open layout, nice ocean views from almost all rooms, upstairs master suite, and the most amazing part was the backyard! If you have kiddos (or adults who like to have fun) this backyard is the perfect spot to stay. Salt water pool, hot tub, water slide (which my kids did not get off the entire 7 days), half sport court, outdoor fireplace, BBQ....and all just a few minutes to the beach. We loved going to Pizza Port just down the street and also Station Sushi. Donut store right down the street for the kids in the morning was great. We have stayed at homes and resorts all over the place and this ended up being the perfect spot for our family. So happy I found it online. The owners were very accommodating and even came over when I couldn't figure out how to work the spa. Top notch house and top notch service. Will definitely want to come back!
This home was the perfect vacation rental for our 10-member family vacation! We really felt like we had our own private resort. The ocean view from the decks was gorgeous. The pool area, with the waterfall, water slide, and hot tub, was fantastic! We spent most of our week in and around the pool. We went to the near-by beach 2 times, and then returned to the pool for more swimming. We also did some sight-seeing to the San Diego Zoo, the Harbor Cruise, and LEGOLAND - all within easy driving distance from the house. The owner, Mike, was very easy to work with and had everything ready for us when we arrived. Everyone in our family said it was an amazing vacation property and we would highly recommend it to others!
We rented the property March of '16. We had 10 total including my 5 year old. The house slept all 10 comfortably, offered spectacular views of the ocean from the living room and from the master and had an amazing back yard with great BBQ and water slide in the pool. Needless to say, the 5 year old did not leave the pool and slide and the college kids loved to lounge around out back. It was a great set up. We were there primarily for surfing and had great access to surf and boogie board spots. The owner was excellent to deal with and checked in to make sure we were all good. He did a very good job taking me though how to use things in the house and even made sure the pool was heated for the 5-year old (we agreed on an added fee to cover the electricity). I highly recommend the house and Mike the owner...my family and I had a wonderful stay and would go back in a heartbeat. People looking for other things to do will have plenty of things to choose from - the place is extremely well situated for people seeking almost any endeavor.
We rented this lovely home for one week July 2014. We shared the home with another family and had an incredible experience. The home is spacious and comfortable with everything you need for a great week at the beach. The pool is beautiful and the slide kept the kids happy all week! (We had a minor issue with the spa and Michael took care of it ASAP. Very responsive and attentive.) Solana Beach is a quaint town great for biking with family-friendly restaurants and shops. The local beach was perfect for kids (and the kids in us all). We would highly recommend this home. You will not be disappointed.
The home was everything we were looking for and then some. When we were not at the beach, we were living it up in the backyard. Playing basketball, swimming in the pool, going down the water-slide, or relaxing in the gazebo; we definitely enjoyed everyday we were there. The property was immaculate inside and out. Mike was a pleasure to deal with and even helped us find a good pizza place our first night. I would not recommend this place though as I am hoping it stays open so we can visit again next year. :o). In all honesty, if you have a chance to visit Mike and his family's home, I would definitely do so. You will not be disappointed
My family stayed at this home for a week over the summer. We thought we were staying at a 5 Star Resort. The house is large and spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The beach is close by and Solana Beach is easy to get in and out of. The owner, Mike, was very accommodating and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.
