The view is all it takes to love this home!
Even when everything isn't perfect it's hard to not love this place. This was our second time here and I'm certain it won't be our last.
The easy access to the beach is amazing. The hot tub is great! The reservation process is easy. The house is beautiful.
Easy access to local bars, restaurants and shopping.
Spacious house with plenty of beach front!!!
I booked with Ben Golden homes because of the reputation they have. This is the third house I have rented over the years and once again they have come through for my family. The day we arrived we had a cleaning crew come by to ensure we had everything we needed. We had a temperature issue with the refrigerator, which maintenance was quick to address. The second night we had an issue with the A/C unit for the second and third floor, once again the maintenance technician arrived to determine the problem, turns out the unit needed to be replaced, the next day 4 box fans were delivered to offset the temperature until the replacement could be performed. The very next day the unit was replaced and rooms cooled. The house had plenty of room for the amount of people we had stay. There is a hot-tub on the back deck which was very convenient. We brought four vehicles with us and were able to park two cars in the garage and two in the driveway. The house was in a good location not too far from Walmart or a Winn-Dixie if you prefer and there were a couple of convenient stores within walking distance. All in all I was very pleased with the house and I look to rent this house or another one of their properties in the future. I would recommend this house to anyone that has a large group and need plenty of space. You will not be disappointed.
The location is great. The house is very spacious and the outdoor area overlooking the beach is awesome. Don't get the wrong impression, we had a great time and there was plenty of room for my family. The house is somewhat dated and the living area furniture is very worn and uncomfortable. The managers were very responsive each time we called with any issues. We only called twice, once about the tile floor not being clean ( our grandson was crawling on the floor and his feet were turning black) and once to get a couple of chairs replaced that were torn on the rear porch and to get the garage door opener. The management would probably have responded about some of the other shortcomings of the house had we notified them but we were there to vacation, not to help them update the property. Lastly, to my surprise I wrote the Property Managent Co a nice email about the issues with the furniture etc. And they never responded. I'm not telling anyone not to stay there, it's a nice place, but when you pay (VRBO will not allow you to tell in a review), but it was double what a nice 3BR condo cost for a week at PCB, you expect the furniture to be comfortable, the bathrooms to not have mold growing in the corner of the showers and the garage not to smell like a garbage dump.
A little Disappointed.
Great vacation, but only OK house for the cost
It's a nice a spacious house with great access to and view of the beach. There is a lot of porch space and space inside, which was great.
The main negative that made this less than stellar: the cost/value - after all the cleaning fees, reservation fees, taxes, etc. the cost we paid was over $450/night for an off-season rental. For that rate - which is top dollar in the area - I expect a great property, and the actual maintenance is so-so. For example:
- The kitchen did not have any bowls, it had poor knives, beat-up pans, and a very mixed collection of cups and glasses. We actually had to go out and buy implements to cook with.
- There were no blankets in the house (it was cold outside), and we had to call up the management company to get some (which were delivered the next day)
- The very upstairs "master" bedroom mattress was rock-hard. Most others were fine and quite comfortable, but it seems like at some point someone replaced a nice mattress with a cheap one.
- Various small issues with the house: one toilet ran continuously, the garage door sounded like it was going to break at any moment, some roof or siding material was falling off.
It was clearly an investment property, one the owners don't actually use. The house itself was great, clean, etc., but the love was starting to fade in this property.
I hope they'll work to make it better and great again. Right now, I think there are better properties to rent for the pricetag.
