Get away from the stress and demanding lifestyle for a weekend and even longer by enjoying the privacy and solitude offered by our large and modern lakefront property. This treasure trove is located on top of a mountain so you will have some of the best mountain views in winter as the leaves shed and even better lake views throughout the year. An amazing piece of lakefront property, the house is large enough to be an ideal holiday location for families with children. Enjoy complete privacy and seclusion as the house opens up to a 10 acre private lake with no other houses in sight on the lake.
Great views are not the only things that the house comes equipped with! It is also completely updated and modernized so you will have the amenities that you need at hand. The kitchen is fully functional and equipped for creating a cozy meal for two or a family feast for 6. Get the barbecue grill going and let the fragrance of home cooked meals waft in the air!
The lake house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, updated kitchen, dining area, huge deck with plants, indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit, 2 kayaks, and a propane barbeque grill. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a private bathroom. One bedroom has a full size bed and the other bedroom has bunk beds. There is a futon in the living area.
Everything you need is provided including linens, towels and kitchen appliances. The well water is very safe for drinking but has a slight sulfur odor sometimes. However we provide a water cooler with ample bottled spring water.
There is high speed wireless internet. There is NO TV but you could watch online movies from your device. We believe a television is a distraction when you are in a place as beautiful and serene as the lake house. There are lots of books, a guitar, games, and of course, lots of nature. Enjoy the evenings with your family and friends, lounging around on the superb deck area or in front of the indoor wood fireplace. Spend your evening sitting around the outdoor fire and toasting marshmallows! The yard sitting at the lake is a great place for hanging out with a hammock to laze around in as the serenity of the lake surrounds you.
The lake front is the perfect place to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while you simply sit by the lake and soak it all in. You can try some boating and fishing on the calm waters of the lake but steer clear of swimming as it is not allowed. Located within 5 miles of the house, a County owned lake nearby (small fee) and a beautiful natural and secluded beach off Delaware River are perfect places to go swimming.
Other activity options that you can enjoy are hiking, skiing, bike riding, and horseback riding. Poconos Environmental Education Center (PEEC), Dingmans Falls, Childs Park and Delaware River are all within 5 miles of the lakehouse. If you feel the need to venture out, visit the few restaurants, a bank, delis, beer depot, and general stores nearby in Dingmans Ferry. Milford (12 miles) is a charming and well maintained little historic town with shopping, art galleries, and restaurants; it will be the perfect place to spend a fun afternoon.
We strive to make your stay memorable and enjoyable by providing a high level of service. However, spending time in the lap of nature with people you care about is what will make this the most satisfying experience for you.
We stayed at the Lake House for a long weekend in early November. The most notable thing was the quiet and restful environment surrounding the lake house. Despite the workmen paving the road at the bottom of the driveway (which Dylan warned us about) it could not have been more relaxing. Everything that you need to cook a meal and more is provided in the kitchen. We took Dylan up on his offer to use the firewood and made a cozy fire in the evening. We saw a beautiful sunrise over the deck one morning, took the kayaks for a spin on the little lake and walked our dog around the trail that surrounds the lake. We really enjoyed our time away from the stress and grind of our daily lives.
In booking this property for a family week with our adult children, I hoped for something special as well as spacious and comfy. We love nature & birds, so this 'getaway' retreat right on the lake called out strongly. We were BEYOND DELIGHTED with the reality. Watching the many moods of the sky and the water - stretching out in the hammock watching the lake sparkle - the morning mists, the wild turkeys on the lawn, the glassy reflections when the lake was still... and no other house or people visible! It was great to have the use of the kayaks etc, and we spent many happy hours just 'being' and enjoying. The scent of the pines, the starry skies at night. I liked drinking my early coffee on the front deck watching the burning sun rise over Kittattinny Ridge across the valley between the trees. The osprey fishing down the lake morning and evening. Oh, and great fun fishing ourselves - lots of bites and plenty of small catches. We also had a fire one evening outside in the firepit. Never once missed TV - glad to be away from it! The house wi-fi was all the connectedness we needed.
The kitchen was extremely well supplied with everything to cook and serve. The beds were fine. We had no issues with the well-water as we are used to this phenomenon, but appreciated the provision of bottled water for our cooking and drinking.
While feeling 'away from it all' we also enjoyed being not too far from charming, bustling historic Stroudsburg and the scenic Water Gap. We enjoyed exploring the area. Delicious free-range eggs from the lady on the way to Dingman's Ferry made for tasty breakfasts!
Also the owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. A great deal of thought has obviously gone into preparing the house for sharing, and this makes for a nice stay.
It wold be my dream to return for another stay, perhaps at a different season to enjoy the lake in a different set of moods.
We couldn't be happier with this booking. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Had a great time at Dylan's cabin. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Cabin was clean and the private pond was a huge hit with the kids. The kids loved the paddle boat and kayaks!!! Cabin was within 20 min of Milford which is a great town with lots of restaurants and shops. We will definitely be back!!! Make sure you spend time hiking bush kill falls.
Loved the place from minute one. Beautiful area and so quiet. Fishing was great easy place to fish with kids. Will definitely be back again in future.
Great house, property, location! Close to all the cool outdoor places. Modern inside with plenty of places to sleep.
We had a lovely time. As others have mentions the water does have a strong sulfur odor but good drinking water is provided so it's really not a problem.
We saw a black bear right on the other side of the pond. Awesome!
The owner was very responsive by text message when one of the local bears tore open the trash can and dumped trash all over the road. His cleaning lady came out within the hour.
The house fit four adults and two children very comfortably. No TV but who needs it!
Thanks for a great stay.
