Overview

About the property

5BR, 3.5 Bath, 3400 sq ft, updated, 2 masters, tranquil part of Lake LBJ

The calm, cool, waters at Legacy Lakehouse are very inviting; a long canoe ride, kayaking through the rocks, a 15 foot high cannonball off our deck, fishing, and other activities await you. Or you may choose to simply read a novel while floating your day away on a raft. It is possible here due to the lack of boat traffic you get with many of the properties downstream. Enjoy the sunset from the deck, as well as an abundance of birds at the water. We have plenty of space for a couple families to get together and have a memorable stay.

This is a family owned residence and entering our fourth season in the rental market. We are pleased that several of the renters have returned several times! We predict that if the house feels like home, people will treat it like home and not abuse it.

The house is a roomy 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2 indoor and 1 outdoor dining areas, 1.5 kitchens, and 3 living areas. We have a few TVs including a 61 inch LED in the main living area which also has a fabulous water view. Our WiFi will keep you connected. The half kitchen is in a game area that has a second refrigerator. The main master bedroom is adjacent as well as a smaller bedroom with a trundle bed. There is a second downstairs master bedroom with a bath. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with a shared bath. Outside is an expansive patio with another dining table, seating, nice gas grill, and a ping pong table. At the water's edge, there is easy access to the water with a platform attached to the boat dock and sidewalk. There are two elevated decks for relaxation, sunsets, s'mores and a pretty scary cannonball. The dock has the owner's boat in the slip (not for use). INCLUDED in the rental is the use of 4 kayaks, a canoe, and two standup paddleboards - a $100/hour value! Don't forget your fishing gear as the fishing can be excellent in this part of the lake.

We have been asked about bringing boats. You are welcome to bring a boat. A private community launch is about a mile away. However, it is difficult to drive an i/o and impossible to drive an inboard boat to our dock from the close ramp. Call for details. Jet skis? No problem.

We are located on Shoals Parkway, In Hoover Valley, very near Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn Caverns. There is a great little corner store and cafe nearby. Also very close is highly rated Perissos Vineyard. Kingsland is 12 minutes away for HEB, golf, boat rentals, etc. The area is full of friendly people and great times are assured! Read our reviews and call if you have questions.

Spend a week or longer at Legacy Lakehouse for a true vacation. You will feel as if you are in a faraway place, yet only 75 minutes from downtown Austin.

If you would rather book directly with us than through VRBO or HomeAway, please let us know.

About Brian, Rosie, or Bruce

The owners of this property want to provide an inviting location to keep the families together. Our parents used to live just down the street and we have had many wonderful memories of the area. We want to do the same for our children and hopefully theirs as well.

Brian, Rosie, or Bruce purchased this house in 2013

Why Brian, Rosie, or Bruce chose Lake LBJ

We know how special this part of the lake is - the rocks cut down the boat traffic and creates a wonderful environment. Ducks outnumber jetskis. We are able to kayak and paddleboard like it is our private lake. Plus, my dad gave the previous owner some iris bulbs 30 years ago and they are still growing. Couldn't pass that up.

What makes this house unique

The water is the focal point of this house, inside and out. It is hard to get the feeling from the photos but I suspect after a couple days you will start to understand why we love it.

Perfect Place for a Laid-back Family Celebration!

  • 5 of 5

The photos do not do the property justice. We were pleasantly surprised at not only the quality of the home and its furnishings, but also by the peaceful and perfect waterfront with deck. One of the greatest things about this property is that everything we wanted to do was right there at the house. The owners provide the kayaks, SUP boards, fishing poles, and so much more. We didn't have to leave except to go down the road to get some bait! The kayaking and SUPing was so peaceful on this stretch of water.

We loved the large kitchen. We like to cook as a family and their was plenty of room to do so comfortably. The layout of the house is open, yet you can get away to a comfortable nook very easily. It is well laid out for all age groups, as well as a collection of age groups. The large TV was great for watching football and The World Series.

We had a great breakfast on the back patio and used the gas grill for one of our lunches. Star gazing at night is pretty superb, as well.

The owners have been very responsive and kind, yet professional.

We can not wait to go back! Next time we hope to stay for a few more nights and explore the winery and the caverns down the road.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice, and helpful review. I bet the World Series was pretty special there, especially since the Cubs won! Thank you for mentioning the photos - we have not been able to capture what the view really looks like from the inside of the house. We are glad you enjoyed it and hope to see you return. Brian

Truly relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this home, the quiet neighborhood and the hospitality.

Sitting at the back porch, at the river decks or taking the free provided boats and boards for a sunset trip was truly relaxing.

We felt like visiting a friend’s home.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Legacy Lakehouse last week! There was more than enough room (& bathrooms) for our two college age kids, my daughter & son in law, my mother in law (who we finally convinced to join us as the last minute 😊򒠩, my husband & me. The beds were wonderful! The towels for bathrooms & for outside were plentiful and everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. We enjoyed using the kayaks & paddle boards and we were able to navigate through the rocks to bring our bass boat up to the house. It was really nice to be able to tie it off there & not worry about it getting slammed up against the dock repeatedly from passing traffic! The guys caught some fish too. We also enjoyed just hanging out in our floats. The water is perfect! I loved that view from the house too! Oh yes, and this house has all kinds of games! Board games, table tennis, horseshoes just to name a few. My family all agreed that Legacy Lake House was absolutely perfect for us! Thank you Brian!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for the review! It sounds like you enjoyed a lot of fun things that are available, and with a variety of ages. Even though our water level is pretty constant at our spot, it helps the fishing that the lakes above and below us are full. I'm glad your family had fun and we hope to see you return.

Beautiful home with great amenities

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 had a wonderful four days and nights at this beautiful lakeside home. The home was furnished to perfection, the kitchen had granite countertops with new appliances. The home had all the necessities available for our use - tvs, wi-fi, washer/dryer, gas grill, plenty of towels and more.

The lake experience was the most fun - our grandchildren, children and even Mimi & Papaw made the most of the kayaks, paddle boards, floats, ping pong table and foos ball (all made available by the owners). The two piers were each furnished with dining table and chairs just as they were shown in the photos. The kids really enjoyed jumping from the second story pier as recommended on the site. There were plenty of life jackets available for our use - all sizes.

We took advantage of cooking out on the gas grill, we tried the bbq at Spykes in Kingsland, and purchased pies from the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. All were very good.

Even though the temps were high (some days around 100) - the lake kept everyone cool and the large porch across the back of the house had plenty of fans.

The owners provided great customer service. We would highly recommend this home with all its amenities to other families. We made a lot of great memories.

Great Spring Break 2016

  • 5 of 5

The home, the accommodations, the weather, and the fun we had was absolutely perfect. The owners were extremely helpful to us in planning and addressed all our questions. We canoed, kayaked, paddle boarded, fished and even took advantage of a local fishing guide for more fishing fun. I have no complaints and our family will definitely be coming back when we want to enjoy Lake LBJ. Thanks so much!!
