Big Bear Cabin Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, (Sleeps 6-8)

WELCOME TO KANODIA LODGE! Come and ENJOY our beautiful Big Bear cabin! Situated in a quiet Sugarloaf neighborhood in Big Bear City, 9 houses from the National Forest and incredible hiking trails, this 2 bedroom / 2 bath home is all you could hope for in a mountain vacation rental.

Why the name "KANODIA"? The Serrano's (a Native American tribe) were the first settlers in the Big Bear Valley. They refer to themselves as the Yuhaviatam, which means "People of the Pines". In honor of these first settlers we wanted to give our cabins a Serrano name. "Kanodia" which means "Where Heaven Rests Upon the Earth" captured our hearts and became the trademark for our beautiful cabins. We feel blessed to share them with you!

If this cabin is booked please visit our other cabins #419389 (one house off the lake at Metcalf Bay) or 619437 (walking distance to Snow Summit).

Large, open living spaces, abundant sunlight, warm colors and beautiful furnishings make this home the ideal place for a fun-filled, relaxing vacation in the Big Bear Valley. Gorgeous surroundings and views, wildlife and a quiet peaceful community make this cabin the perfect choice.

* FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN: The kitchen is stocked with every amenity and can be used to serve up beautiful entertaining meals. Gas cook top, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, huge preparation counter with bar stools and more make this an ideal cook's paradise, ... or you can eat out in the many fabulous restaurants in the area! Huge skylight provides beautiful natural lighting.

* DINING ROOM: The formal dining area contains a beautiful table that expands to seat eight for those special meals with friends and family.

* GREAT ROOM: The spacious great room has a large, comfortable leather sofa and two incredible Lazy Boy recliners. Entertainment is provided by a brand new 32” High Definition LCD TV (cable included), DVD/VCR combo unit & iHome. A gorgeous rock fireplace with log mantle completes the warm, comfortable ambiance. Wireless high speed internet is available at no charge.

* COVERED FRONT PORCH: There is a large, rustic covered front porch, perfect for reading, enjoying a glass of wine, or just kicking back to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest. There’s nothing like sitting on the covered front porch during a rain storm and enjoying the sounds of nature while staying warm and cozy!

* BACK PORCH: The back deck offers the perfect place to barbecue, watch the stars, eat breakfast, sit and read a book or enjoy your favorite beverage. You will be amazed by the quiet of the forest and the wind whispering through the trees. Stairs lead down from the back porch so you can take a walk and watch birds and squirrels playing.

* BEDROOM 1 / GUEST BEDROOM: The guest bedroom is equipped with a queen bed (down pillow top & comforter), night stands, a beautiful pine bunk bed and cabin style decorations. A dresser is located in the large mirrored closet. There is also a TV with cable, Nintendo and tons of games for the kids.

* GUEST BATHROOM: The guest bathroom is well appointed with a bathtub/shower combination, glass doors, pine cabinets and beautiful artwork.

* BEDROOM 2 / MASTER BEDROOM: The master bedroom is equipped with a queen bed (down pillow top & comforter), large dresser, night stands, reclining chair, artwork and large mirrored closet. Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello Laura! Thanks for a wonderful stay. We loved the bright, cheerful sunlight streaming in every day. You have a fantastic home in the woods. Next time we would like to visit during mountain biking season – great trails all around. Our favorite spot in town for lunch/dinner is Murrey’s Irish Tavern – outstanding food and extremely casual. Kids under 21 out by 8 pm – great spot!! Thanks Laura for a super cool holiday from the Miami clan.

Cozy place, close to everything

  • 4 of 5

Nice cabin, comfortable for a family of 4. The cabin was close to shops, skiing, and restaurants. It was clean and well kept. On the first day we couldn't figure out the water heater and fire place but the owners responded to our call very quickly and were very nice. The only thing I didn't like about the cabin was that it didn't have a spacious back yard or fire pit. Overall, great experience!

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay!! We were very surprised to receive your review 6 months after your stay ... and only 4 stars compared to our 75+ "5 star" reviews. We pride ourselves on providing an immaculate home that is perfect for our guests in every way. Our house is on a double sized lot - most cabins in our area have a property half the size of ours - sorry you felt the yard was not large enough for your needs - we've never had anyone comment on that. Also your note about a fire pit was very odd - we list all our amenities on our site so if that was one of your needs we could have clarified that prior to booking. Fire pits are not allowed in the area where our home is located since we are right next to the national forest and having any type of an outdoor fire is against the law. Given the California drought I hope you'd understand that restriction to protect our beautiful forest :).

The cabin is in a great location and had everything our family of 6 needed!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. It was spacious, clean and well stocked. The check-in and check-out was so smooth, it couldn't have been easier. The cabin is located in a wonderful area, not a far drive into town and to the ski slopes. Although there wasn't much snow, we found a great little spot up the street to do some sledding. We also drove to a park for some more sledding. The cabin has a cute backyard with a little swing that my younger boy enjoyed.

The living room and kitchen and dining area were all open and made a nice space for relaxing with the family. We brought our own games but we're excited to look in the closet and find a boat load of games and building sets to add to our fun. The TVs worked well and the cabin had many movies to choose from, both DVDs and VCR tapes.

The bedrooms were very comfy and all the cabin was decorated so tastefully. There were plenty of throws and comforters to make for cozy nights and mornings. When cooking in the cabin, we found every thing we needed.

We come to Big Bear every year in February and we've been looking for a cabin to rent year after year. I think we've Finally found it!

Fantastic cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed at this cabin and had a wonderful time. The cabin is beautiful, very clean, and had all the amenities you could possibly need. I really liked the cabin decor and the quality of everything inside the cabin. My daughter and her two friends really enjoyed the room with the full size bed and bunk beds. There was plenty of room for everyone. Fortunately there was still snow and there were some fun hills to sled down at the end of the street. The cabin had several sleds to use that were stored in the garage. The owner (Laura) was fantastic. She always answered all my emails quickly and was so kind and helpful. We can't say enough great things about the cabin and owners. We definitely will be renting this cabin the next time we go up to Big Bear!

Great stay, wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in this property multiple times now, and we've enjoyed it every time. It's usually my wife and I and two kids (now 5 and 7) who stay and the property accommodates us really nicely. Kitchen is well appointed, the whole home is nicely decorated and well maintained. The access is easy, and there's no steep driveway to contend with, which I appreciate over some other properties I've stayed in, where this can be very challenging in the snow and ice. Nearby hiking in the woods is beautiful, and when there's snow, the sledding hill is lots of fun. Sleds in the garage! Property owners are very accommodating, communicate well, and easy to work with. Look forward to my next visit!

Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at cabin 'Kanodia Lodge' was truly that 'home away from home'. The cabin has everything you need from a prime location to games for the family. Everything was provided just as described and the owner was very supportive and responsive from the initial booking until check out. We had taken many items you typically need while traveling, but the cabin had provided well above what we had expected, (games, kitchen items, movies, and above all that 'the home comfort experience'). We truly had a memorable experience staying at Kanodia Lodge, it was the best way to spend my wife's birthday and our kids enjoyed their first true winter experience in Big Bear. We are hoping Laura will have her home available in the summer, we'd love to revisit Big Bear again and stay at Kanodia Lodge. Thank you!

Perfect for kicking off the holidays

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our family to spend Thanksgiving week together. It was decorated by the owner with all the little holiday details to make it feel perfectly cozy and a home. Close location to all the sledding and skiing locations as well as The Village. Cabin was very clean when we arrived.
