Come discover The Pearl of Muir Beach.....
We are a local family who would love to share Muir Beach with the World.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
Our stay was enjoyable. The back porch and lovely flowers and plants provided privacy and fragrance of rosemary, sage, lavender.
WiFi and phone reception are limited. The front porch provides a view of the ocean and the sound of waves are heard. Worth the comfort of the privacy and no parking problems. Easy to get to San Francisco. Beautiful costal mountain drive.
We rented "the Pearl" for a wedding stay and it was simply perfect. It's nice and spacious, and well appointed. The location is amazing, the decor is very charming - beachy yet sophisticated, unfussy and calming. Great for pre-wedding jitters! We got married at the Muir Beach community center right up the road, and came home after to a walk on the beach, a hike up the bluffs, and dinner at the Pelican Inn - all just steps away. The owners were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely rent again!
We were so happy with our stay at Muir Beach's Pearl! It was perfect for what we wanted. It was immaculately clean (which is always at the top of my list)! It was updated, open and spacious more than I thought it may be, totally uncluttered which allows for a peaceful stay. It had a quaint homey feel, and we loved the location! Muir beach, just right there, is beautiful! I wish I would have brought firewood for a fire on the beach. We also wished we would have had more time there, which just wasn't in our plans. My personal favorite was the hiking into the hills just right there also. The views from the hiking trails were awe eliciting with panoramic views of the ocean, bays, hills, skyline and sunset! It was the perfect ending to the vacation! Also the drive into san francisco was pleasant and not too long, about 30-40 minutes. The backroads to muir woods was quick and beautiful.
We would stay here again if we were going back to the area, and would stay for the whole vacation!
Thanks for sharing such a perfect place to stay!
My son's wedding was at the Pelican Inn and this house was just a bit down the road and easily assessable for the entire wedding party. We had the house for 3 nights and used it for my family's home base. The kitchen is large with plenty of workspace. Due to food allergies we could not have the bride eating anything that we did not prepare ourselves so we used the great kitchen and the outdoor grill to prepare the rehearsal dinner for about 16 people. Parties are not allowed at the house but we did serve a wonderful dinner that was safe for all. The work island was a blessing for both prep and serving and there was plenty of room in the kitchen/dining area for all. We only had 4 people sleeping in the house but it does sleep 6 and the bathroom is huge. Only one closet but plenty of dresser drawers and the bedrooms are of good size with queen beds and nice linens. There are also heaters in the bedrooms and the living area that chase the early spring night chill away. Lots of windows to open for fresh ocean breeze and the water is only 2 blocks or less away and can be seen from a few of the windows. The house received many compliments.
I have no problem recommending the house to future renters. Plenty of parking with the side driveway and 2 spots in front, easy beach access, walking distance of the Pelican Inn, enormous bath towels, set of pots, skillets, coffee maker (use the big one), really nice washer and dryer, microwave, TV with Netflix, Hulu using your own accounts, outdoor grill and furniture (no cushions), loungers and picnic table. I did not look in the garage for the bikes and water equipment but have no doubt they are there.
Phone service for cell is nonexistent. Wifi is iffy with the best place to connect in the kitchen close to the password. Very clean. one warning about the air freshener. Strong so if you have breathing problems as I do , get some windows open. And the blinds are a bit difficult to lower. That is all I can possibly complain about, my weak lungs and weak wrists. Honestly, this house has it covered with location and amenities. The photos are accurate.
Muir Woods is a short drive away and the beach is just down the street. Bikers love the area.
When 2 friends from Seattle decided to come visit for the weekend, I wanted to find a spot that didn't require too much from them in re: getting from SFO to a relaxing spot. Muir Beach was the perfect location, and Pearl was the perfect cottage for us. Spotless, cute, clean - it was a great launching pad to long, beautiful hikes in the hills and over the ocean, just a skip to the beach, neighbors with the Pelican Inn, and a 10 min drive to Stinson. Lovely.
The property was as described and as reviewed by many others. It was very clean and adequately stocked. There was much to do in the area so we didn't feel pressed to have to go into San Fran daily, though the ferry access in Sausalito was very convenient if you wanted to. It is very scenic and quiet and a bit off the beaten path if that is what you're looking for. Our purpose was to visit family in Sausalito, so it met those needs perfectly. I didn't give it 5 stars because I typically don't rate anything as perfect, but I have no issue with those that did. It was clean, comfortable, and met our needs. All in all I would recommend Pearl to others with similar interests and needs.
The Pelican Inn, Zen Center, Slide Ranch, Muir Woods, and the Muir Beach Overlook are all just minutes away!
