THE NEIGHBORHOOD: One of the most unique qualities of our wonderful city is the big city feel with a variety of neighborhoods nestled in between. Round out your shopping spree with a stop at the T-Shirt Deli to customize a memento of your stay in this fantastic and eclectic neighborhood.
Bucktown / Wicker Park has something for every palate and craving. Start your morning with delicious fresh baked goods at Bake, or brunch at the always busy Toast. Or, if you are visiting between spring and early fall, stop by the Sunday morning Farmer's Market in famous Wicker Park where the movie Wicker Park was filmed. As you enjoy fresh sweet or savory crepes, you can select from a dazzling display of local and organic produce, baked goods and flowers while enjoying the sounds of one of our talented local musicians. Stop by Big Star's patio for lunch and margaritas in the sun, or Piece for some of the best pizza in Chicago, as voted by Chicago Magazine 2010. And for dinner, you'll find anything and everything in Bucktown / Wicker Park. Ethnic choices such as Penny's Noodle Shop, Babylon and Club Lucky abound, surrounded by top-rated options like Coast, Takashi and Le Bouchon. Wine lovers can easily walk around the corner to Bin Wine Café on Milwaukee to savor seasonal fare paired with delicious food.
The condo is better than the photos. The location is perfect. We felt very safe, had all the shopping, restaurants, bars we could ask for and was conveniently located near the Blue line. You could stay in this area your entire trip and have a great time. The condo has a garage slip that is included which is really nice since parking is very limited. I was a little worried the condo would be small but the layout is spacious and comfortable. The staff was available, polite and friendly every time we called, thank-you Tim and Jean! A few musts in the area: Stan's Donuts, Piece Brewery, Umami Burger, Nike Bucktown Running, Liquor Park, Walgreen's (for your everyday needs and groceries and its just a really cool Walgreen's!) The only negative thing I can think of is there is no patio furniture for the 2 very beautiful patio's in the condo and the roof top is a little boring considering the amazing view of the city! We can't wait to return to this condo and city.
We stayed in the condo from 9/17-9/20 and absolutely loved it! It was very clean and fully stocked with what needed (towels, cooking utensils, silverware, detergent, etc. ). We only had to contact someone when we arrived in order to get buzzed into the building. The condo was seriously perfect! The area was wonderful and quiet, we walked to restaurants and shops- must try Lokal and Stan's Doughnuts except when we went downtown (we took Uber). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and most importantly felt safe. We plan to use this condo for all of our future stays to the Windy City!
This is my third stay with Chicago Premier Suites, two in the 4th floor apt and one in the 2nd floor apt. in the Wicker Park area. As always the apartment is spotless, nice fluffy towels, nice soft sheets! Communication with the company is excellent! Great customer service, they will do everything to accomodate your needs!
Hotel rooms have been the accommodations on any business trip I have been on; so staying in a condo had me a little nervous. This condo however changed that feeling quickly. With two bedrooms and two baths we were able to have the same privacy that comes with a traditional hotel. One key difference however was a shared living area, this was a great team building opportunity, it allowed us to interact with each other in a more comfortable and less formal setting. Having service reps living close by helped with the confidence that if issues were to arise they could be taken care of quickly and easily, though I doubt any were to arise with the amazing condition the condo was kept. Add in the young and vibrant neighborhood, cleanliness, modern décor, amazing restaurants steps away, and garage space makes this condo by far worth the 5 star rating. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants the feeling of living in Chicago rather than just visiting Chicago.
I have to admit up front, I was a little leery of renting a condo from a company I didn't know versus using a basic hotel chain. But this condo in Bucktown exceeded my expectations in every way possible.
From the start, the communication with the parent company could not have been better. Everything I needed to know was spelled out clearly for me.
And the condo? Wow. Amazing. Exactly as described on the website. Very clean with modern amenities and décor. But what the website doesn't mention is how high the ceilings are...you get a real feeling that this is where you are living for a week, not just some room you're renting.
And the one thing that renting a place in downtown Chicago can't give you is a view of the skyline. It is awesome, especially at night, from the rooftop terrace. Spectacular view of the entire skyline!
As for the neighborhood, it's perfect. You're right near a Blue Line train stop and a bus stop, so park your car for your stay and forget about it. Plus in a one block radius from the condo is an impressive array of restaurants, bars, clubs, and eclectic shops.
Simply put, I could not have been happier with my decision to stay here. Thank you so much...I will definitely use you again the next time I'm in town.
For dinner, you'll find anything and everything in Bucktown / Wicker Park. You can even buy the wine you love to take with you! For something sweet, nothing can top a stop into Hot Chocolate for a nightcap and one of their many delectable desserts.
As early evening comes to a close, rest assured you will feel the energy of the nightlife options emerge. Choices are endless ranging from listening to live music at the well-known Double Door with their impressive bookings, Subterranean for dancing or neighborhood bar preferences such as 6 Corners Sports Bar, Northside Bar & Grill and 6 Degrees. Depending on your liking, there is something for everyone.
Other Activities: To slow things down, walk to Miko’s Italian Ice on Damen Avenue after spring hits Chicago and choose your flavor. Enjoy your treat as you stroll through the neighborhoods soaking in both new and historic architecture. Another option is to hop on the bikes provided by Chicago Premier Suites and ride through the neighborhoods to take in all the city has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.
