Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski home set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from both Bozeman and West Yellowstone, Montana

This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

This Montana vacation rental is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available .

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Casa Moonlight is a recently renovated log fronted three storey town house with a floor area of approximately 1,800 square feet in the Saddle Ridge development of the Moonlight Basin, Big Sky, commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area

The new owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, live in a nearby home and will personally manage your stay at Casa Moonlight throughout the ski season.

Casa Moonlight is approximately 1,800 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and sleeps up to 7 adults. This Montana ski-in ski-out vacation condo is a luxury accommodation in every respect:

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, flatware and utensils.

Casa Moonlight is located 45 miles from Bozeman Airport (BZN).

About William Casa Moonlight

My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

Why William Casa Moonlight chose Yellowstone

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this townhome unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight - and just one minutes walk from the best restaurant (Timbers) and ski-club house (Moonlight Lodge) in the Big Sky area.

I liked the property improvements from our last stay in 2010, including the bunk beds and queen in the 2nd level. The flat screen TVs are a great addition and we rented 3 blu-ray movies from the village.



We could have done with some more snow, but all in all it was a great trip.



Oops on the reading glasses, those are probably mine (silver aluminum rimless reading glasses?). If you could mail them?

On the slopes at Big Sky.

Casa Moonlight is a great location. That is by far the reason for staying here. Skiing in and out is unbeatable. Our family likes to come and goo at different times, so the location made this possible. And we could get together at lunch times easily. The 2 bedroom layout is nice, and the furnishing also very nice. The owner was responsive and responsible. I imagine if there was an issue (there was not), the owner would engage nicely. I would definitely stay there again on my next ski vacation to Big Sky.

Well appointed and comfortable

Four of us stayed at Casa Moonlight and enjoyed our stay very much. The condo is very well appointed. We did not lack for anything. It truly is ski-in/ski-out, which was refreshing. Sometimes places are advertised that way, but you need to walk across a street or do something else to access the ski mountain. In this case it was truly right outside the back door. The owner was very solicitous and was in touch with us during our stay if we needed anything. We would definitely stay there again. It is a good idea to have a rental vehicle while staying at this location.

While a car is strictly speaking not essential, it is often useful, and the cost or renting a car for a week in Bozeman is usually less than the cost of paying transfers from the airport to the resort, so unless you are really averse to winter driving, it makes financial sense too.

Perfect week at Big Sky

This was our best location ever in the Saddle Ridge condos - close to the lodge, and easy ski in/ ski out direct to the Iron Horse lift. Best appointed kitchen in a condo ever: crock pot, rice cooker, lots of good pots and pans, outdoor grill, etc. very comfortable!

Awesome!

Great place to stay. My family of five just returned from Casa Moonlight One and we had an excellent time. Big Sky is a wonderful place to ski---we received around 20 inches of snow during our stay. The location of the condo is great and allowed us to return and warm up/refuel as needed but get right back out there and not miss out on the fun. The condo was clean and roomy and decorated very nice. William was extremely easy to work with and accommodating. I had an unexpected illness last year and William allowed us to push our family vacation back a year when he legally did not have to. Thanks William for checking on us and making sure we had a great time. We will be back!

Very Nice

We (family of five) had an excellent experience staying at Casa Moonlight One during our recent ski vacation at Big Sky. Great location...slope side for ski in and out and close to the lodge for lift tickets and dining. Enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, and kitchen (we did breakfast, some lunches, and a couple of dinners at the condo). The condo was very clean and quiet. We also enjoyed the games (Scattergories) provided by the owner. William (owner) and the property management were both very attentive. Would recommend to anyone!
