Virginia Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-8)

We built our custom log home in 2007. It has a front porch facing the new river tressel trail. A 54 mile walking, hiking, biking, and horse back riding trail that meanders along the New River. The back porch faces the New River just as it enters Claytor Lake. We have a private boat launch and dock. Turn left from our boat launch go 1/2 mile to the shoals in the New River, or go right 22 miles and you will go over the dam if you don't stop. Fish or ski in the back yard. Bring your jet skis, ski boats, floats and fishing boats. Fantastic fishing!!! Drive about 10 miles and put your canoes in at the Blue Cat and float back to our house. Sights you will not forget.

The house has one bedroom on the first floor with a private bath. There is a nice living room and kitchen with granite counter tops and an island. You can dine in or on the back porch with a beautiful view of the water. There is a 1/2 bath laundry combo on the first floor. The upstairs loft has a Harley black and orange pool table with some cool neon lighting. Bedroom 2 is on the second floor with a large bath.

Keywords: log house, lake house, waterfront, New River trail, New River, Mountains, Virginia Tech.

About The Owner

We are a fun couple. We like our Harley, Boating, golfing, laying on a float with a cool beverage, laying in the shade and just about anything else you can think of.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007

Why The Owner chose Virginia

We have owned the property since 1993, and had a camper on it until we built our log home. It is less than an hour from our home, and we love it! You will love it as well!

What makes this cabin unique

It is a relaxing place to be. There is something for everyone. Biking, boating, hiking, jet skiing, fishing, setting by the fire at night enjoying the moon and huge sky. Water in the back yard and a 54 mile walking trail in the front yard. What more could you ask for?

Relaxing with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to unwind from everyday stress. We loved all the amenities the property had to offer. My favorite spot was the rocking love-seat on the back deck. With the views and being secluded, it was the perfect place to take an afternoon nap! Our kids really enjoyed the floating dock for fishing and jumping in the water. The owners were very accommodating even on a last minute reservation.

Perfect family getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 stayed in this beautiful home for 3 nights. We had small children and a teenager. We were able to relax and enjoy the water, views and the peaceful covered porch was a favorite of everyone. The marina was close and very friendly with reasonable prices. This is a perfect spot for a family vacation. We will definitely be back for a mom and dad weekend as well. David was such a pleasure to work with and welcomed us with a home that was furnished with everything we needed. Absolutely wonderful place to stay!!!

My nephew graduated VT as Second Liuetenant United States Airforce and this was his choice. 50 min away from campus but well worth the drive. House is spacious and inviting. Easily sleeps 8 or more beautiful view of lake and great for swimming off dock. Quiet peaceful and relaxing. Ample parking. We went fishing but not a bite. Roads are dark easily miss house at night travel in daylight hours. Lots of fun Great place for a celebration!

A beautiful peaceful escape!

  • 5 of 5

I can thank the owners enough for sharing their beautiful home with us. We had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed exploring the river and trails nearby. The cabin had all and more than we could have hoped and the owners were wonderful about explaining all and getting things set for our last minute visit. The pictures don't do justice as this home is perfect! We enjoyed mornings with a hot cup of coffee on the deck and evenings with a glass of wine by the fire. A much needed break in a beautiful cabin!

Excellent Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for 3 nights. Wish it was longer. We were moving our son into his rental house for his junior year at Radford U. Was a bit far, but so worth it! The house is beautiful! We enjoyed the river, but most of all, we enjoyed sitting on the covered deck. After a long day of moving and shopping and dinner, We all joined outside and talked and laughed for hours. The owners have put a lot of thought into this homey home. We enjoyed being together so much and want to thank the Hills, for allowing us this opportunity.
