The calendar and lengths of stay may vary unexpectedly. Please contact manager for details.

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom classic Coronado Village home, which was built in 1910, seamlessly combines the charm of a unique early twentieth-century home with the look and feel of contemporary styling. Completely remodeled, refurnished, and repainted in 2011, this home is nestled on elegant and tranquil A Avenue and situated only minutes by foot from one of America's finest beaches, the Coronado Municipal Golf Course and, of course, the world-famous Hotel del Coronado. You can enjoy the comfort of a fully air-conditioned home with travertine bathrooms with multiple and rainhead shower heads, a private and spacious master suite, French doors that open onto a private patio and walled garden, and hardwood floors of rare beauty and style. Covered for decades by carpet, the original 1910 clear Douglas fir floors breathe again after being restored in 2011 to their original splendor. The home features an updated kitchen with a new stainless steel refrigerator and a filtered water system, a new tankless water heater, a gas fireplace, three flat screen televsions, cable access, and high-speed WIFI internet access. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt Home, the house has a rich history. Commodore Ben Harrison Wyatt was an early U.S. Navy aviator, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for his work in 1926 in mapping Alaska, and a driving force behind the founding of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course. During his 30-year naval career, he also served as naval air attache in several European capitals and, later, as military governor of the Marshall Islands. His wife, Camille Palmer Wyatt, was the daughter of a well-known British landscape painter.

About Robert Koch, (Pronounced cook)

My family has lived in Coronado since 1957 and at 729 A Avenue since 1967. We love this house and its history and plan to retire here someday.

Robert Koch, (Pronounced cook) purchased this house in 1967

What makes this house unique

One of the many wonderful things about this home is that it is within short walking distance of all that Coronado has to offer and within minutes by car or water taxi from all that San Diego has to offer. The home is quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to relax and unwind. Known as the Ben and Camille Wyatt house, this home has a strong and direct connection to the history of Coronado and to the history of the U.S. Navy and naval aviation. Just 5 blocks away is Coronado's nationally reknown Central Beach, and the city's climate is temperate year round.

The Perfect House In Coronado

  • 5 of 5

This home in Coronado is just simply perfect. My wife and two kids stayed here for a month in June and I cannot say enough nice things about the property, the location, and Bob, the owner. The house is kept up super well and extremely well appointed with everything you need to live here and make this your second home. Bob was very responsive if we needed anything and you can tell he certainly takes a lot of pride in the home and making sure you are comfortable! The house is in a great location just blocks from the Hotel Del beach and tons of shopping, dining, and great happy hours.

My family made life-long memories in this home and in the area. I thank Bob very much for the opportunity to stay in his beautiful home.

It Doesn't Get Any Better!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing location, beautiful house, and great amenities. Our family has spent a month each winter for the past 5 years at this home. The house is in a fabulous location, just minutes by foot from the Del and the Beach, Orange Avenue, the Marina, and Spreckles Park. It is spacious and easily accommodates my husband and myself, as well as our grown children and grandchildren. The back walled yard is perfect for our grandchildren--they can play outside alone without a worry. The house is constantly being updated and is beautifully maintained. Bob is wonderful to work with, available and responsive if there is ever a need (which there generally isn't!). I would recommend this home to anyone wishing to visit the Coronado area.

Perfect Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I recently stayed for a month at this lovely home in Coronado, and it was truly one of the best vacations ever! The home itself is charming, well-appointed, immaculate, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The fully walled backyard is heaven…quiet, well-maintained, and ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing/exploring. Our fluffy little travel companions loved the backyard, as well! The house is central to all things Coronado…we walked everywhere! To the beach, The Hotel Del, Ferry Landing Market Place, and to the restaurants and shops on Orange Ave. There’s so much to do in Coronado and the surrounding area (San Diego, La Jolla, Carlsbad, etc.)…we planned something different each day and had so much fun! And finally, I cannot say enough about Bob (the owner/manager). From my first email inquiry, to check-out on our last day, he was the perfect host! He always responded within minutes and was a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Bob, for making our dream come true…we will definitely be back! Laura Koch

Second to none!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved this vacation cottage in Coronado!! The perfect place to enjoy the Holidays and have each of our 3 adult children visit from time to time while we were there! The kitchen was completely accessorized to enjoy our family meals; but the location perfect to walk to dinners out in Coronado! Easy walk to shopping and beach!! We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Coronado! Thanks so much Bob, for all of your effort and making this lovely cottage available to us!

A+ on A Avenue!

  • 5 of 5

This charming Coronado home was perfect for our family’s "getaway from it all" vacation. Although we were walking ( or biking) distance from everything and everyone- we appreciated the tranquility that the home and its location provided. From sitting outside in the cozy yard- to cooking meals in the well appointed to kitchen- to relaxing in the family room or bedrooms- this was the best! There’s a place for bike storage, plenty of space to unpack, and the appliances were top notch. Bob was more than accommodating and we can’t wait to go back !

FANTASTIC house in a PERFECT location

  • 5 of 5

We honestly loved our stay at this home on A Avenue. I know the pictures are great but what they don't show is just how charming, immaculate, and well appointed the house is. Everything was there to make our two week stay comfortable and pampered. Want to cook? The kitchen is outfitted like a William Sonoma store, including a big grill. Want to go to the beach? The beach chairs and toys are stacked and ready to go. The beds are new and comfy, and the linens and towels are top drawer. The house has been redone from top to bottom. The house is situated a few blocks from the bike path, three short blocks to Orange Avenue, a 10 minute walk to the beach, and a nice stroll to the ferry landing to take you by water taxi to San Diego. Easy way to see a Padre game. You can't do any better. Great house for a fair price.

Coronado Beach Makes Top Five All-Star List

by Greer Goebels

San Diego’s Coronado Beach: This broad, family-friendly beach ranks No. 1, best beach in the nation, on the lists of both National Geographic and Forbes. Both lists are Hawaii-heavy, so it says a lot that they’re topped by Coronado, where the sand sparkles with mica and surfers and families mingle seamlessly. Coronado is also No. 6 on the Travel Channel’s Best U.S. Beaches list (topped by Hawaii) and No. 9 of Most Popular U.S. Beaches.
