Relax on one of the most beautiful beaches in New England. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Parker River Wildlife Refuge, home to more than 300 species of birds. This island has restaurants, a convenience store and a package store. A short drive brings you to historic downtown Newburyport, a quaint New England Fishing Village perfect for shopping and dining. The waterfront has many attractions including a boardwalk along the Merrimack River where you can take a harbor cruise, go whale watching, deep sea fishing or take a sail on the ninth wave. Boston is less than an hour away by car or train. A scenic drive north or south on Route 1A to other waterfront communities for shopping and additional restaurants. Golf courses are also available in Newbury and Newburyport.
So much to do. Or just chill at the beaches.
Comfortable three bedroom home that is located off of the main road on a private drive. The house sleeps seven on comfortable beds that we provide the linens for. There is a full bathroom with a tub and shower. The living room and dining area is the open concept with many windows for a bright and sunny atmosphere. The deck is large and has nice furniture to relax on and enjoy the ocean smells and breeze. There is a tree that provides privacy for your deck and even apples to eat. This home has return visitors every year which tell us it is a pleasant home to stay in.
You have marsh views from the deck and the beach is a short walk on a side walk; or if you have small children with a lot to carry you can drive to our free parking across the street from the beach. The Plum Island Grill, The Beachcoma, Variety store and the Package store are all within walking distance. Newburyport is a short ten minute drive where you will find great shopping with many unique stores. There are also wonderful restaurants, a movie theater, a live performance theater and there wonderful boardwalk area along the Merrimack River. We will have information in the house from the Chamber of Commerce which will help you with other activities. There is a City Park called Cashman Park which is also along the Merrimac River and it has tennis courts that are free, a great playground for the little ones and the beginning of the Trail Way that is nice to walk and ride a bike on.
The Parker Rive Wildlife Refuge is close by on the southern end of Plum Island and they also have beautiful beaches to enjoy.
You can travel north or south on Route 1A and visit coastal towns and cities. Also take a short ride on Route 95 to the Outlets in Kittery, Maine.
Spending a day in Boston is also fun to do. You can take the train in or drive.
