This beautiful area was the inspiration for my artist/sculptor husband. It also was the perfect place to rear our 3 children.
My days almost always begin with a walk on our 2+ miles of uncrowded beach.
Now that our children are grown I have time to pursue my passion, going to gem shows and creating jewelry from my unique finds.
This home is set back from the highway and located on 3 acres surrounded by pasture land. Follow the paved driveway around to the back of the house and you will find a 1 car garage, a ramp to the back door for easy access and plenty of parking for your cars, boat or RV.
You will also find a secluded yard with a BBQ and comfortable chairs for relaxing.
Watch for deer, herds of elk and covies of quail. You can also enjoy a variety of colorful birds that come to the feeders. (Bird food provided.)
In late August the blackberry vines are hanging with juicy berries. They make delicious cobblers. Bring jars if you like to make jam.
The Ocean's Treasure house is amazing. Large enough to accomodate a big group comfortably. A retro living area that will make you want to dress up and play madmen. Great views of the ocean and just a short walk down to a very quite, and mostly secluded, beach. Better yet, just a 20 minute drive down the road from the redwoods. Would/will definitely come back.
Warm and cozy, this place was great for our Thanksgiving, close enough to all the sites and the ocean. We loved that we could just walk across the street. Very clean and stocked we didn't need to go to the store for those items that we forgot. The beds were made and very comfortable. Good job Jean
Our group of 12 adults enjoyed the stay. We used air beds in the large upstairs room. Access to the ocean was wonderful and everyone enjoyed visits to the Redwood Parks. The house contained everything needed for cooking and playing. We could have used another bathroom but managed with the two bathrooms available. Thank you for providing an excellent place for our annual gathering.
We stayed here with friends and had a wonderful time. Kitchen well appointed, lots of room and walking distance to the beach. You are going to LOVE the front door! Thank you for everything.
It's right across the road from the beach, love this place.
We had a wonderful stay in this old beach house! It was a convenient meet up location for our family to convene for a long weekend on the coast. You can walk across the street to the beach and watch the sunsets. The great room upstairs was a nice place for the adults to hang out after putting the kids to sleep. During our stay we took time to explore the areas attractions and hang out in the back yard, we really enjoyed the backyard and definitely made us of the BBQ. I would recommend bringing your own oil/butter (the oil we found was a bit old). Maybe also think about bringing some laundry detergent and or technu. There is poison oak in the area (not around the house, just on some of the hiking trails we explored). In any case, we had a good time and would rent here again if we were in the area.
There are 2 casinos near. Crescent Elk Casino in Crescent City and Lucky 7 Casino just one mile south on Hwy 101. Available for your use, Smelt net, 4 crab rings, 3 clam shovels, 2 clam pumps, 3 rakes for taking steamer clams. Bring rods and reels to fish for perch. Dig sand crabs for bait. Birding on the Pacific Flyway. There are reference books on the local sea creatures plus flora and fauna in the library for your use. (Please leave them for out next guest.)
There is a trading library upstairs. Take a book, leave a book in it's place.
A drive to Stout Grove Redwoods and Florence Keller park are a must. Also visit, at low tide only, Battery Point Lighthouse/museum in Crescent City.
