Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.
The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.
The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.
Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet.
Well behaved pets are more than welcome!
Easy booking online or with the owner using check or credit cards.

I am retired. I enjoy my two cats, Olly and Geo.
I retired from the Community College System and enjoy meeting people, thus the rental.
I enjoy traveling and finding neat places. I hope I have created one here.
George Stanley purchased this apartment in 2007
I had a half -finished basement when I purchased the home, which I separated from the house upstairs. I envisioned a downstairs cabin so others could enjoy the beautiful mountains as I do.
Living on a rural mountain and bordering the Biltmore Estate Property, there is an abundance of wildlife - turkey, deer, pheasants, bear, raccoons, generally all sorts of wildlife. I have pictures of bear in the yard and in close-by trees.
At an elevation of 3,346 feet, the cabin overlooks a huge valley. The valley is often filled with fog, creating a beautiful sunrise at eye-level.
With commanding views at sunset and sunrise, this cabin is a perfect Asheville getaway. The cabin is fully equipped and cozy, but you will want to be outside enjoying the mountain scenery. George and the cats are gracious hosts. Will definitely return!
Great Location over looking the Biltmore Estate. Quaint, Quiet, and George was a great Host.
We enjoyed our stay at George's cabin. It was quaint and rustic with all the needed amenities including internet, tv, hairdryer, coffee maker and more. Some of the things that made our stay unique-the panoramic views of the mountains, winding drive, close proximity to Asheville, and the preaceful stroll at the top of the mountain. Everything was comfortable and clean. We plan to return!
This little abode is perfect for two people. It has everything you need to relax and enjoy the beautiful views, especially the sunrise. You can see Mt. Mitchell from here! Bring some yummy food, sit by the gas fireplace, read a good book, and definitely bring your camera or cell phone to take pictures in the morning. The mountain road has switchbacks but you get used to them. George was a delightful host and Geo the cat is beautiful. Definitely coming back in the Spring!
George Stanly, owner of the property was a great host and a great resource for things to do in the area, a very personable and friendly man that alowed and respected your privacy but was very helpful and gracias when asked for input about area and history of surrounding areas.
The cabin itself was cozy and relaxing, views were amazing just the drive to and from the cabin was an adventure in itself. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
Currently sitting in a rocking chair in this beautiful cabin! Absolutely incredible, we walked in the door last night to find the fireplace burning, and everything perfectly set up for our arrival.
George was a perfect gentleman to us and the accommodations are FAR from average as is the view!
We will definitely be back.
