Appalachia at its best. A mountain cabin re-created within the basement (first floor, ground level) of my home for your pleasure. Private entrance(s), covered deck/patio, open deck, great view, very private setting.
The location has an East-West orientation, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Great place to sit, relax, and enjoy your favorite beverage.
The cabin is fully self contained. It has its own kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), and a small living/dining area. One bedroom with a king size bed.
Centrally located between I-40 and I-26, on Busbee Mountain, the property borders the Biltmore Estate and blends in with the Blue Ridge Parkway at an elevation of 3,346 feet.
Well behaved pets are more than welcome!
Easy booking online or with the owner using check or credit cards.

I am retired. I enjoy my two cats, Olly and Geo.
I retired from the Community College System and enjoy meeting people, thus the rental.
I enjoy traveling and finding neat places. I hope I have created one here.
George Stanley purchased this apartment in 2007
I had a half -finished basement when I purchased the home, which I separated from the house upstairs. I envisioned a downstairs cabin so others could enjoy the beautiful mountains as I do.
Living on a rural mountain and bordering the Biltmore Estate Property, there is an abundance of wildlife - turkey, deer, pheasants, bear, raccoons, generally all sorts of wildlife. I have pictures of bear in the yard and in close-by trees.
At an elevation of 3,346 feet, the cabin overlooks a huge valley. The valley is often filled with fog, creating a beautiful sunrise at eye-level.
We had a phenomenal stay at George's VRBO. It is a beautiful apartment inside, with wood paneling and lots of rustic mountain decorations. We really enjoyed having the kitchen and dining area, and the furniture is all very nice. The gas fireplace is a great touch, and really added to the experience for us. The view off the porch and from the windows in the rental is really phenomenal and cannot be beat. You get a spectacular sunrise, and a great view of the valley all day long and into the evening. George is very friendly, and we love that he allows dogs and we were able to bring our puppy. The Internet is fast, the water is hot, and everything works as it should. We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we return to Asheville. I wouldn't change a thing.
I didnt realize it was the lower level to someones home when I booked it so it through me off a bit but George was a very nice man and showed us how to get into the lower level cabin. It had an amazing view which we enjoyed for breakfadt each morning. It was very cozy and comfortable with everything you could need. We did a lot of hiking while in Asheville and it was nice having a quiet retreat from the rest of the world high up on the mountain top. We would definitely stay there again when we come back. We actually even talked about moving to North Carolina in the future. We loved the state and all it had to offer!
Beautiful view, and very quiet. Cottage was cozy and had plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunrise or just sit out.
Drove from hot and humid Florida to a gorgeous and cozy mountain retreat with plenty of room for two people (and our dog!). Perfect getaway and gracious host. We did not want to leave and definitely will be back. Thanks, George!
George's little slice of heaven is my new happy place. It is home, but with an amazing view. I can't wait to return.
