About Your Accommodations
This home was literally designed with the ski family in mind—the owner/architect built this home to complement and make the most of Kirkwood’s natural beauty. This beautifully furnished custom home is well suited for up to three families; bring your friends along for a luxurious High Sierra retreat!
About the Property
Take in the stunning views of Thimble Peak, Red Cliffs, and Glove Rock from the 360 degree windows or the oversized deck and patio. The Palisades subdivision provides trail-side access, allowing you to ski from your front door directly to Cornice Express Chair 6 or Timber Creek Chair 7 and back home again. When the ski season tapers off, you’re also in close proximity to numerous hiking trails, a full disc golf course, and other local activities. Get away from it all and take an overnight horseback trip, hike in waist deep wildflowers, or swim or canoe in one of 20 lakes in a 5 mile radius. Even in high season, you’re secluded from the crowds in your own relaxing oasis.
A roaring wood fire awaits, making your après ski get-togethers extra cozy. The huge, open living room and lower level entertainment room provide ample space and amenities to entertain your guests—a billiards table, 52" TV with DVD player, and home stereo system keep the fun going after the lifts close. If a professional kitchen is your choice, you have it, and the formal dining area seats ten. A large mosaic tile mural of Kirkwood adds some extra character and is certainly a sight to remember! Six bedrooms ensure ultimate privacy when it’s time to turn in for the night, and a private loft area (with additional sleeping areas) is perfect for the kids to play board games, read or romp around.

Great House -- Tough Situation
The house is large and well organized -- could easily handle 3 families (or in our case 8-9 guys). Great kitchen with all the supplies, large rooms, plenty of bathrooms, great location on the mtn, no hot tub, small garage and awkward driveway entry for multiple vehicles.
The only real negativity was with the property management company's response to difficult weather circumstances. A big storm came in as forecast and it delayed access for the cleaning crew who were scrambling to clean up after a messy large party before us. As such, we were 3 hours delayed in getting access, so instead of eating the food and drinks we brought up for that night, we needed to eat out ($300). Not the end of the world, but no offer to help offset that expense was given. In addition to the late access, there was garbage buried in the snow on the deck, sticky substances on the wood floors that weren't cleaned, stains on the bedding in the master bedroom, and the whole house smelled of curry or something similar -- not awesome.
When we asked for a late checkout to enjoy more of the snow, we were only given an hour and the cleaning crew and mgmt company were johnny on the spot at that time. We made a great effort to leave the home in great condition -- cleaned the kitchen, started both dishwashers, piled the towels as requested, and took out our garbage.
Again, the house is great, it was just unfortunate that the cleaning crew wasn't able to get there earlier our arrival day and more so the property management company did little to nothing to make us feel like we were valued.
Thank you so much for taking the time and sending us your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. We first wanted to thank you for staying with us and that we are thrilled to see that you had a memorable stay at the property. We hope to have you again for your next vacation. Thank you.
Good locator but misleading and expensive
The place is nice, don't get me wrong. But for the cost, we really expected accurate information. A few things they don't tell you. 1. The place isn't ski in, it's only ski out 2. There are lots of weird sleeping nooks that aren't comfortable for adults 3. There are no good cooking knives in the kitchen!
The pros were that the kitchen was mostly well stocked and the location was great.
Overall, would probably not stay here again
