About Debi Ireland

I love people, horses, And dogs. I am an oil painter, a credentialed teacher and a licensed real estate broker.

Debi Ireland purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Debi Ireland chose Valley Center

I have been living and riding horses in this rural corner of San Diego County for nearly 15 years and just love the beauty of this place and being so close to nature but only 40 miles from downtown San Diego. I am able to ride horses from our property through the Hellhole Canyon preserve and the BLM land that backs right into our property.

The original owner took almost 10 years to construct the Pueblo and it is made almost entirely of poured concrete. This unique habitat had not been in use for many years and after purchasing the property in 2010, Debi decided to create a unique living space for others to enjoy as well as ourselves.

What makes this cottage unique

Living in this area provides the opportunity for star-gazing, hiking, trail riding, exploring the back country and observing birds and other small wildlife. The Pueblo is close enough to San Diego to enjoy a day at the beach, the San Diego Zoo, Mission Bay, or any other of San Diego's wonderful attractions not to mention there are 4 casinos within 15 miles of The Pueblo. The Safari Park is but a 30 minute drive from our property!

We are only 20 miles from the Palomar Mountain observatory!

Lived in Bay Area most of my life

A gem in the rough

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this little gem of a place. We stayed here a week while visiting family in vista. I arrived a bit wound up from regular stresses that life brings and left totally and completely relaxed. The reviews I read on this site were spot on. The highlight for us was our nightly ritual of conversation by the fire pit under the stars followed by relaxing in the jacuzzi. You’ll love it.

Desert Oasis

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for a desert oasis that is clean, artsy, romantic, quaint, rustic and a little not the norm, then the Pueblo is the place to stay. My wife and I stayed here as our last stop on our honeymoon, really quiet atmosphere to look up at the stars, or if you prefer have a fire in the firepit or relax in the jacuzzi. Close enough to San Diego for a day trip and far enough away to relax without all the noise of the city.

Disconnect and recharge your batteries

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here before several years back and still love everything about the Pueblo! Unplug and sit by the fire, gaze up at the stars, relax in the hot tub before bed, wake up with the birds and just do nothing but nap all day! The place is fully fenced in so little doggies can just sniff around and be safe from the "scary coyotes" or just watch the fish swim around the pond. We always leave with a renewed sense of peace and we won't wait so long to come back! Debi is so artistic and you will find yourself seeing new art hidden in plain sight sure to admire her beautiful horses before you go-magical place!! Thanks!!

Great rustic quiet canyon spot

  • 4 of 5

Great quiet spot close to good hiking. Only bummer was that the Jacuzzi was broken so we could not soak our aching muscles, and the coffee pot is small for caffeine addicts like us. Comfy bed, nice fire pit. All the best parts of camping plus a hot shower.

Pueblo of peace !

  • 4 of 5

Took the wife here for 3 nights - the plan was to relax from our crazy work & social life, which of late has been very hectic. It was exactly what we had hoped for. The pueblo is tucked away atop the mountains, secluded in itself. We brought our dog as well, for his first vacation outside of our home - he loved it. Stars were plentiful each night as we sat at the fire-pit. Bed was very comfy. The decor was welcoming with the owners own art (mostly horses and dogs), which was appropriate considering there are horses all around the area, including just outside the pueblo (was fun to pet them, and our dog played with them as well). The kitchen (a separate little building on the property) had everything I needed, though if you plan to cook (as I do) use the BBQ for your stovetop - the electric 2 burner provided does not get much heat (enough to cook eggs but that's about it). I cooked full meals using the homes pots and pans on the BBQ and it was great. We also visited Harrah's Rincon down the way 20 minutes for a nice dinner. Overall, if you're looking for a get away that is not that far away (for us anyway) - that is serene and comfortable, as well as romantic and artsy - this place is awesome !! We plan to return.
