Cottage, 1 Bdrm w/king bed + Detached kitchen

This is the place to come for complete rest, privacy and quiet from modern day distractions. The Pueblo combines rustic charm with up-to-date luxuries. There are no neighbors to disturb your rest, no phones, no computers, no cable TV although there is a large flat screen TV with a small DVD collection and a stereo with music CDs.

Kitchen Equipment:

two-burner stove top, microwave, coffee pot, tea kettle, small fridge, all pots and pans and dishes and spices, propane BBQ outside with side burner.

Horses are always welcome and the trails to the nearby preserve are just 1/4 mile down the dirt road off the property.

Sunbathe on your completely private deck. We have a massage therapist in the area that makes house calls. Sit quietly by the goldfish pond and meditate. Gaze at the stars, listen to the coyotes howl and fire up the grill. There is a private jacuzzi next to the outdoor fire pit.

About Debi Ireland

We love people, horses, dogs and cats! Debi is an oil painter, a credentialed teacher and a licensed real estate broker. Gregg is a photographer, videographer and motorcycle enthusiast.

Debi Ireland purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Debi Ireland chose San Diego County

We have been living and riding horses in this rural corner of San Diego County for nearly 10 years and just love the beauty of this place and being so close to nature but only 40 miles from downtown San Diego. We are able to ride our horses from our property through the Hellhole Canyon preserve and the BLM land that backs right into our property.

The original owner took almost 10 years to construct the Pueblo and it is made almost entirely of poured concrete. This unique habitat had not been in use for many years and after purchasing the property in 2010, Debi decided to create a unique living space for others to enjoy as well as ourselves.

What makes this cottage unique

Living in this area provides the opportunity for star-gazing, hiking, trail riding, exploring the back country and observing birds and other small wildlife. The Pueblo is close enough to San Diego to enjoy a day at the beach, the San Diego Zoo, Mission Bay, or any other of San Diego's wonderful attractions not to mention there are 4 casinos within 15 miles of The Pueblo. The Safari Park is but a 30 minute drive from our property!

We are only 20 miles from the Palomar Mountain observatory!

An amazing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My hubby and I had an amazing time at the Publio! we loved that the kitchen and living space was separate, loved the hot tub and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area... We even had some of the 'locals' (horses that is) come and say Hi! Wish I could give more than 5 stars because this place was definitely worth it!

Perfect Location for a true getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Just what we needed! A little gem tucked away in the canyons that offered true relaxation.

Had all the amenities and nice touches one could ask for.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Thank you!

Perfect Perfect Perfect

We stayed at the casita for Feburary and March of this year. It was everything we had imagined. Dark sky, exquisite valley and mountains quiet, private, hiking and walking trails. Debbie and Greg are the perfect hosts meeting any inquiry or request immediately. We will be returning this coming winter and would recommed the property.

We booked the casita for February and March of this year. The property was everything it was advertised as and more. Total quiet, dark sky, beautiful valley and mountains, lots of trails for hiking. Debbie and Greg went out of there way to provide us with every convenience that we wanted for our stay, they are the perfect hosts. We are looking forward to returning next year. We would highly recommend this property.

Escondido is close by as is San Diego and Oceanside. Wineries, Observatory, Safari Park, whale watching, spas and the list goes on. There is very comprehensive list at the casita.

in spite of the weather.

  • 5 of 5

In spite of rainy weather we managed to have a very romantic stay far from "the Madding Crowd". Lo & behold the sun burst forth long enough for us to enjoy the hot tub and rooftop lounging area. The local casino entertained us for an afternoon.

Super Private. Super Relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for an extremely private, relaxing getaway, go here. The hills surrounding the pueblo are very pretty, and the actual property is so comfortable. The owners respect your privacy, so you have the whole place to yourself. My wife and I didn't see another soul the entire time we were there. The best thing about our weekend here was how little we did. There are no distractions here, so we got to lounge around on the sun deck for hours, relax in the hot tub, watch some movies on the tv, and cook our meals on the grill. Pretty much a perfect weekend.

I seriously can not describe how quiet and relaxing this place is. If you're looking for a place to go where you can get away from day-to-day distractions for a few days, sunbathe, and enjoy lots of peace and quiet, this is the place for you!
