Comfortable serenity

  • 5 of 5

This stay was everything we had hoped it would be. The home was spacious and comfortable, with breathtaking views from the house and back deck, that opens right up onto the lake. There was also a wonderful dock to drink your morning tea/coffee on, and kayaks for a serene trip around the lake. The house was very comfortable and clean (and pet friendly!) with plenty of beds for everybody (stairs to 2nd floor are steep so avoid if you are elderly). Owners were very easy to work with and I would definitely go back again!

We loved the privacy and amenities provided.

The cabin was perfect for our family get together. Plenty of room and activities for everyone there. Just be aware of poison ivy around property. We will definitely return for another stay.

Perfect weekend on Long Kake

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of staying three nights at this lovely cottage. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The place is comfy and inviting as well as spotlessly clean. The photos of the house and surrounding property are accurate. Tracy is a very nice person and was so easy to deal with. It's situated on the lake on an acre of land so there is plenty of space and privacy around the cottage. The views of the lake were spectacular from the living/dining area and kitchen. We didn't cook but the kitchen seemed well equipped. We were very close to town but also secluded. Bridgton is only as few minutes drive and has some very respectable restaurants. Can't wait to come back in the warmer weather.looking forward to having coffee on the deck in the morning and sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. We are definitely going back.

Good location, but house needs improvement!

  • 3 of 5

We rented this place for the New Years. The lake at the back was beautiful and completely frozen. All in all, it's a nice location. BUT the house itself is completely run down.

We were greeted by a very annoying beeping sound as we walked in. The landlord claims it was the mouse repellent, but it was the smoke alarm (with a dead battery). The plumbing is weak - water pressure from the faucets are feeble, once you flush, you need to wait 5 minutes before flushing again.

But worst of it all was the dust that was in the house - tabletops, curtains, beds and throws were all covered in dust. There was so much dust here that we had to go to a pharmacy and get antihistamine for one of us. She had to be on it for the entire duration of the stay.

I wouldn't go back!

Owner's Response: Our house is simple but comfortable and warm with a beautiful view and private location directly on the lake. We take pride in making our house welcoming. But it is important to let us know what is wrong. I wish you told me the water pressure was low! I could have sent a plumber out on the first day - but unless I know I can't fix it. The same applies to the cleanliness of the house. I have a wonderful cleaning lady who has been with us for over 3 years and we have never had a complaint about her work. I am sorry I didn't identify that it was a fire detector battery - but I was going on your description and was trying to figure it out. If I had known I would have told you where the extra batteries are kept. The key is that we have people in place to help us fix things in our house - and with any house some things will break down - but overall our home is a wonderful comfy place!

This was a comfortable home in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

Right on the water, a large deck, level lot. Very comfortable home, large rooms. Somewhat "lived in" but worked well for us. Pet friendly, amenities were good. Appreciated the use of the kayaks. Enjoyed the wildlife. We had nightly visits from a fox, spotted a bald eagle while kayaking. We enjoyed a couple of cool evenings out at the fire pit. All in all, a great, relaxing week.

Great experience. We enjoyed every minute. Swimming, fishing, enjoying the view - could not have been more perfect! Sitting on the deck and relaxing was what we needed. Cooking hotdogs on a stick and sitting by the fire in the pit, on a cool night, was a family memory we will cherish.
