Great location but a few bummers about the house
I rented this property for my family over the Thanksgiving Holiday for three days and two night. We had a total of seven adults and four children) . This was the first time renting a home during this Holiday, but we were excited to be in the mountains. Here is my honest review of the property...
Pros: Pet friendly. Clean. Gorgeous views, wonderful location, access to a large garage with bikes a bike trailer, skis, and snowboards. Nice wood burning stove. Nice deck. Washer and dryer. Large closet downstairs for storage. Hot tub. The two upstairs bedrooms (with the bunk beds) had floor heaters which was great.
Cons: On day two of our stay (on Thanksgiving) the internet went out (yikes). No cable in the house (it states this in the description), but still a bummer when you want to watch a game. The dishwasher is terribly old and did not properly wash the dishes. When I saw the oven in the kitchen I had a mini panic attack. From the pictures the oven looked like a standard size oven, however, the inside was about half the size of a regular oven. So it was only about 12 inches wide and 13 inches deep. Also, there was no way of identifying the temperature of the oven - there is only two nobs and they did not identify on or off or temperature options. One of the burners did not work, and the temperature numbers were nearly all worn off the nobs. No counter dish drainer. The house was also missing measuring spoons, cups, and a blender. Kim, the property manager, was amazing and brought over all these items, along with an oven thermometer so I could tell how hot the oven was (for baking pies and cooking other food). Kim was great and so kind!
Other constructive comments: This was a nice house, and although it sleeps 12, I would say that it comfortably fits 7 to 8 adults and 3 to 4 children. It was pretty small. The living space and kitchen are one space and sort of cramped for eating. The upstairs bathroom is nicely remodeled, but there is zero counter space and it has a low pressure hotel style shower head (such a juxtaposition next to the newly remodeled decor). The downstairs living area and upstairs master bedroom were very, very cold. The heater in the upstairs master was not working. Plenty of wood to burn for the wood burning stove, but no axe or hatchet to make kindling.
Final thoughts: Nice for up to 8 adults and better for the summer. Kitchen not recommended for large meals.
