About the property

Beautiful home/4 Bedrooms/3.25 Baths/4 night minimum stay requirement

Originally built for two families, wine country getaway is perched on Trinity Mountain overlooking Sonoma's beautiful 'Valley of the Moon'. Open the front doors and you are hit with a magnificent view, maximized by picture windows and an expansive deck.

The generous living room has high beamed ceilings and opens up to the dining room and full kitchen, creating a spacious, cohesive environment. The living room has a 70' flat screen TV with DVD player, satellite TV, and Sonos stereo system. The dining room has a table that can accommodate 10 people. The deck off the kitchen has a gas BBQ grill. Free wireless high-speed internet is available throughout.

The home has two wings off the main living room, with each wing containing both a master and large guest bedroom. All four bedrooms have stunning views, king or queen size beds, private bathrooms, and sliding doors that lead out onto a deck. The two master bathrooms have dual showers and the guest bathrooms have shower/tub combinations. Three of the four bedrooms have walk in closets.

The swimming pool is a short walk past the grape vines and garden. It is surrounded by another oversized deck appointed with plenty of lounges, chairs and sun umbrellas. The pool overlooks the property’s 200 olive tree orchard and another spectacular mountain/valley view. From the pool or the main deck you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning as you watch the valley below wake up, or a glass of wine at the end of the day as you watch the sun sink below the mountains and witness a breathtaking sunset.

With a beautiful drive in either direction, you are 8 minutes from the Sonoma Valley and 18 minutes from the Napa Valley. From this dazzling property you can take advantage of all the activities, sites, wineries, and restaurants the wine country has to offer . . . or simply come and relax. Great for families, couples, company retreats, or a guys/gals weekend away, and just an hour from San Francisco. Please note, weddings and loud parties (of any type) are not permitted at this property. Due to the configuration of the driveway we do now allow 'stretch' limousines to come to the home. Property manager is in separate residence on site.

About The Owner

The home is owned by two families who live in San Francisco. The families have kids who were young when the home was purchased and who are now all in college. The home is managed by another family member who lives in a separate home on the property. The family all participate in gardening and other projects around the house when they visit, as well as in the yearly olive harvest which yields around 500 pounds of olives and makes some of the best olive oil ever.

The Owner purchased this house in 1994

Why The Owner chose Sonoma County

We wanted to find a wonderful home that was close to San Francisco yet felt like it was a world away. We have discovered and love the little town of Glen Ellen and are great fans of the Sonoma Valley.

Fabulous retreat from the world as we know it.

A couple weekends ago, along with my extended family, we had a most splendid time at this property nestled into the Napa Valley hills. Very spacious with lots of privacy for each guest. All modern conveniences and all around first rate comfort. Great restaurants in the area too. Would love to stay again.

Idyllic setting overlooking Sonoma Valley

  • 5 of 5

We were two families of four looking for unique and memorable lodging for our four day stay in Sonoma area. We got everything we could have wanted. Once you walk in the front door you are met with the open and stunning views from high above the valley. Everyone in our group could not stop talking about the views and location. The home itself easily accommodated our two families (four parents and four daughters in their twenties). Everything in the house was clean and well appointed. When we weren't in the valley visiting wineries we were sitting on the front deck admiring the view or hanging out by the swimming pool.

The home is located up a winding mountain road not far from Glen Ellen where we were able to grocery shop or go to dinner. The larger town of Sonoma with better shopping and dining was not far away either. Although we did not do it the road off which the home is located takes you up and over into Napa Valley conveniently also.

We would highly recommend this home. Hosts Jan and Robert were wonderful in assuring we had everything we needed.

Fell in love with the views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 10 celebrating several 50th birthdays and the house was perfect for us. We had 4 couples and then 2 singles that shared 2 of the rooms. With the 4 full bathrooms, we had ample space. We completely fell in love the outdoor views and ended up spending more time at the house than originally planned. After wine tasting all day, we found it easy and relaxing to grab food at the Glen Ellen grocery, grill dinner at the house and watch the spectacular sunsets from the spacious deck. We had Beau Tours pick us up at the house for an all day wine tour and also had Chef Vanessa come to prepare us dinner one night. We decided to have the pool heated and so glad we did. The weather turned very warm for us and it was great to jump in before dinner!

Since most of us came from the East Coast, we were up early and Robert shared a few walks we could take through the olive orchid and down by the entrance to the quarry. We found a very friendly deer on the property and two very playful foxes for our entertainment. The only negative is the drive up to the property is very narrow and windy and it takes time to get up there. Take that into consideration but once you're at the house, its so worth it. P.S. I think Robert should sell his Trinity Hill Olive Oil! hint. hint....

Breathe taking views! Lovely home owners.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Glen Ellen and in this wonderful four bedroom home. It was perfect for our four couples retreat. Every room has the most magnificent view. The whole house is amazingly stocked with anything you would need. It was clean, conveniently located to Napa/Sonoma, and comfortable! We would highly recommend and book again when in this area.

We (three couples) spent a week in this absolutely wonderful home. The views are simply spectacular, the house was clean and comfortable, and Jan and Robert were great to work with. We all had plenty of room and a fourth couple would have been easily accommodated. This was the best stocked house we have stayed in. Everything we needed was there and easily found. The location was perfect for visiting wineries in Sonoma and Napa. Trinity Road turns and twists but is easily traveled as it becomes familiar. Best place ever!
