About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Log Cabin On A 5 Acre Wooded Lot With 300 Ft Of Waterfronts

Edgewater Cabin is a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom rustic log cabin located on a beautiful 5 acre wooded lot, with 300ft of river front. Enjoy the tranquil views of the tumbling hills and listen to the rushing mountain water, while enjoy local wine from one of our nearby wineries and relaxing in the 4 person Jacuzzi on the balcony. Enjoy a morning walk on your very own forest trail down to the river and spot the many birds, native tree species and deer (note, this is an unpaved trail and although gentle may be difficult for those walking conditions) Take a dip in the river on a hot summer day or warm up on cold winter nights by the vintage 1960's wood burning stove. This lovely Alpine style log home is perfect for a romantic getaway or fun for the whole family.

Why Isabel Denicolo chose North Georgia Mountains

It took about 5 seconds after stepping out of the car when first arriving to the house to instantly fall in love. You could hear the rushing water from the river below and we immediately knew our two boys and black lab would love this place. This property is a home away from the big city for us. We love coming here and enjoying time with our family with none of life interruptions. We hope you make as many wonderful memories here as we have.

What makes this cabin unique

One of the truly unique features of this home is the 300ft of river front. The river is shallow enough to splash/ swim in, but also comes with it's very own miniature waterfall. You can also enjoy walks along the trail located right on the property. You truly feel away from it all, yet are only 11 miles from Helen.

Very nice spot. The online pictures do not do it justice. Great time with my boys.

Very beautiful setting with lots of woods and a stream. Very private

  • 4 of 5

House is roomy and adequately furnished. Beds comfortable. Kitchen is mostly well equipped, needs glasses, more than one sharp knife and dish towels. Large deck with good seating, but, in our opinion marred by the large hot tub which takes up much space. Had a very nice weekend with family. Grandkids loved the stream.

Beautiful view

Couldn't get any of the dvds to play. There was a leak in bathroom with something under it to catch the water, oven seemed to be slow to heat. Bottom was out of outdoor grill. Area was beautiful

Quaint

  • 5 of 5

The property was great for the wine weekend. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint would be that there could have been more towels for a 3 day stay of 6 adults. I did not call and request more however and we made it just fine. Just had to do a bit of laundry.

We Didn't want to leave!!!

  • 5 of 5

First of all I'll start with "We did not want to leave!!!" I booked a last minute trip to northern Georgia since schools have off the week of Mardi Gras in Louisiana. We were hesitant due to possible bad weather, but we opted to do it anyway. We arrived late on the check-in date, so initially we couldn't appreciate the area. Once we arrived everything was in order and we immediately felt right at home. My 5 and 7 year old jumped on the foosball table while my wife and I unpacked. In the cabin we did not get cell phone reception, but within 100 feet from the cabin I was able to send Isabel a message requesting the wifi password, which she responded with promptly. The next morning I woke up feeling completely relaxed to the sound of the running creek. The beds were extremely comfortable!! The property overlooks a creek in the back that can be seen from the balcony. We all got up and walked down the trail to the creek, at which point my kids were excited and wanted to explore some more. Once inside we cooked breakfast and found all we needed with regards to kitchen ware. During our time here we explored the area and went on hikes in some of the local state parks. We additionally went on gold mining tours, did gem panning and just truly enjoyed the area. One of the days my 7 year old decided he wanted to go in the creek despite the 50 degree weather, so I followed his lead and got my bathing suit to get our feet wet. That adventure turned into his first rock skipping experience and learned the hard lesson of wearing slick shoes on slippery rocks. Some of the nights we started a fire and roasted marshmallows, while another night we watched a movie via the Netflix app on the satellite box. By the end of the trip my kids did not want to leave this place and neither did I.

Great view. Great private location.

  • 5 of 5

Property was well maintained and a great place to host a reunion of old friends.

Fireplace was amazing on the cold nights and kitchen was well suited for cooking meals for a small crowd.

Views of stream and cow field on the hill across the stream were amazing.

Map

Car: necessary

Edgewater Cabin is located on a beautiful 5 acre riverfront lot in Adair Mills,Cleveland, the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Approximately 11 miles from Helen, Georgia and the Unicoi National Park and Forestry Preservation Area. If you love the outdoors, this is where you belong, with a myriad of activities from rafting down a lazy river to hiking steep waterfalls. Look carefully and you might spot a black bear and her cubs or a majestic mountain lion. Adventure is around every turn. Not the outdoors type, then enjoy the fine wine tasting rooms at the many wineries just minutes away. Rummage through treasures forgotten at one of the many antique shops. There is something for everyone!
