Cozy Cottage, Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our two daughters aged 3 and 6 and my brother all stayed in the cottage. It was perfect for us. The cottage was very clean. Julie met us when we got there and was very helpful with the few questions we had during our stay. We stayed in October so there was a chill outside, but inside, the heat worked well and the fire was a nice touch. We cooked a few meals with no problem. I highly recommend going to Dingle during the Food and Wine Festival. The Dingle Peninsula is gorgeous. The Blasket Island Cultural Center was a surprise gem, a perfect escape when a storm kicked up during our stay. The view at Connor Pass was worth the drive (if you don't mind narrow roads!). We also enjoyed the Inch Strand and Ross Castle.

Best holiday house I've ever rented!

  • 5 of 5

This house, and certainly this location, was wonderful. Right in the heart of Dingle, we were a very short walk from restaurants, ATMs, shops, pubs, delicious fish and chips, and much more. On arrival we were met by Julie. She made us feel very welcome and explained everything we needed to know. She was available to us, just a phone call away, if we had other questions. The house itself is lovely. Very clean and child friendly. Though it's in the center of town it doesn't feel that way once you're inside. It was very quiet. There were children's voices drifting up from the park behind, but never in an intrusive way. We were worried that parking would be an issue as it is on a narrow one-way road. This was never a problem. Even on the weekend, when Dingle gets quite a few visitors, we never had a problem with parking. All in all - a great house!! While we were in Dingle we hiked and splurged on the Eco-tour boat ride. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Owner's Response: Ahhh Thank you for the lovely review. It was very nice meeting you all and I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Grey's Lane. It's the best kept little secret in Dingle. Right in the centre of all the action, but on that lovely quiet lane way. I hope to welcome you back again soon. Warm regards, Julie Conway Property Manager

Clean, cozy, central and very homely!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house!?! We were truly smitten by this beautiful house with its fantastic location in Dingle very central but extremely quiet. We arrived for 5 nights but stayed 6 because we felt right at home, the house was very clean and stylishly decorated with all the necessities needed for daily use. We were 5 and never had the feeling that the house was too small or crowded with enough seating for us all. Julie does an excellent job at giving hints and tips basically helping where she can all you need to do is ask. It isn´t our first Dingle visit and it won´t be our last, we´ll be back :-) Thanks again Julie, it really was a wonderful relaxing week!!

Fantastic Stay for Family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 5 nights and loved the place. Perfect location with great coffee spots, pubs, grocery all literally within 150 meters. Really nice house with everything you need. Great home to return to as parking readily available on street. Dingle has grown, so it was nice to be right in middle at great price. Added bonus for our young kids was park behind with soccer field.

If you are reading this to see if this is a good place to stay ....STOP LOOKING ANYWHERE ELSE! This apartment is the cutest place ever!! And LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

Everything you need from a chemist (pharmacy) to a grocery store, movie theatre and pubs galore all in a short walk. Shopping is great as well. My husband and I stayed here for 10 days and we couldn't of been happier. Julie the property manager is the BEST EVER. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen has everything you would ever need. Like I said stop looking and book this place before someone else gets it before you. If there were any complaints it was only things that we as Americans are not use to and adapted quickly too ... Overal 10 out of 10 on a rating.. We would definetly stay here again on our next trip to this adorable town. Oh and did I tell you everyone in this town is sooooo friendly we didn't meet one person that was in a bad mood or cross at anything.

Great central spot in middle of town.

  • 5 of 5

We booked a week in July and were quite comfortable in this charming home. Dingle is a great little town to explore with all it's shops and numerous bars. The Supervalu is a two minute walk to pick up groceries as we were able to cook a lot of our meals in our kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality cookware and utensils and glasses. Beds were quite comfy, noise levels from street were relatively quiet. Comfortable living and dining room-after a full day of touring we watched a movie from the ample DVD collection. Julie, the manager was very pleasant to deal with and quite accessible. This is a great little spot for touring Dingle Peninsula. This is right in middle of lower town so there are no scenic window views but you don't have to walk far to see them. Hope to return soon!

Eating out:

There are numerous excellent award winning restaurants to choose from in Dingle. The food is locally produced and the fish is straight out of the blue. Some of the owners favourites include:

The Global Village (2 mins walk from the house)

Things to do in the local area:

The Dingle Peninsula is virtually an open air museum. It has the highest density of historical/archaeological sites in Western Europe and from this house you will be ideally placed to explore them all.

Gallarus Oratory (700 AD) - one of the best preserved examples of a dry stone built early Christian Church, Kilmalkedar Church, Riasc Monastic Settlement (the impressive ruins of a 6th Century Monastery) and Dúnbeg Fort and Visitor Centre (a Promontory Fort dating back to 500 BC – Iron Age) are all within an easy drive from the house.

Keen Anglers can enjoy fishing from the shores at many of the Peninsula’s beaches. Some of the best beaches for fishing are: 'Tra Beg' in Kinard and 'Beal na gCloc' in Minard as well as the beaches in Been Bawn, Muirioch & Feohanagh.

Mount Brandon:

For those serious about hiking, there is the rewarding challenge of climbing Mt. Brandon (3,000 feet). Brandon Creek is close by and is where St. Brendan launched his boat on his journey to discover America.

Water Based Activities:

Surfing, Kayaking, Sea Angling trips, boat trips to the Blasket Islands, Eco Tours and boat trips to see “Fungie” – Dingle’s famous wild Bottlenose Dolphin. Fungie first arrived in Dingle Bay 30 years ago and decided to make it his home. He is still wild and is free to come and go as he pleases, but he enjoys daily interaction with humans.

Dingle Town:

The vibrant town of Dingle is filled with quality restaurants, cafes, art galleries and shops. You can enjoy lunch on the Marina, before a taking a boat trip around the bay or perhaps you would prefer to spend an afternoon pottering around the colourful shops. In the evening, you can enjoy a session of live traditional Irish music in a number of the town’s pubs.

Indoor Activities:

Louis Mulcahy Pottery – Try your hand at the potter’s wheel. The Studio and Workshop is at Ballyferriter (20 min drive away). Stop off at Clogher Strand on the way. It’s a wild and very beautiful beach with fine white stand, ideal for paddling, but not safe for swimming. A favourite spot for Photographers and Artists.

Chorca Dhuibhne Museum (Ballyferriter) - where archaeology and history are brought to life....

The Blasket Islands Heritage Centre (Dunquin) – where the island's story is told with great imagination.

Play at Height Adventure Centre (Ballinaboola, Dingle) – with rock climbing wall, high ropes and archery (5 min drive away).

Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium (Opposite Dingle Marina)
