When you walk into Coral Sands 4 and see the amazing wrap around view of powder white sand, aqua water and breathtaking sunsets, you will be speechless. Coral Sands 4 has the best view of West Bay's iconic beach because it is the closest to the water and serves up sweeping views of the whole beach. Located in the secured, 8-unit boutique development of Coral Sands, this 2nd-floor ocean view unit with 3-bedroom and 3 bathroom is the luxury that you desire during your stay on Roatan. You will love the way the patio`s sliding glass doors completely retract so you can hear the waves and watch the Caribbean sunset at your door.
This solid concrete structure has been professionally decorated and features luxurious finishes, such as granite countertops, a chef- equipped kitchen, exotic hardwoods and much more! These features make this unit one of the very best rental options on Roatan for up to 6 adults. The bottom 2 bedrooms have king-sized beds and the upper bedroom has a queen-sized bed. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with rainshower shower heads, Tommy Bahama furniture and luxurious pillow top beds with Egyptian cotton high thread count linens. There are also HDTV televisions and cable service in each room.
There are two patios: one private one just off the kitchen , and a larger one overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Since the condo sits on the western shore of Roatan, every evening will be filled with breathtakingly romantic sunset views over the ocean's horizon. The oversized ocean view dining, living and kitchen area is large and spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to relax when they`re not in the water or on the beach. The flat screen LCD TV and Blue Ray DVD player are set up with surround sound, creating exciting movie nights after your long days on the beach.
The professionally chef-equipped kitchen has everything you need and more during your stay, including amazing ocean views, keeping even the cook in your group happy. There is a Keurig coffeemaker for you coffee lover's out there, including complimentary coffee. Can you think of a better way to spend your mornings than with a hot cup of coffee out on the porch overlooking the blue Caribbean waters? There is also a whole-house Ultra Violet Light (UVL) water filtration system in the unit which provides you with clean potable water and helps protect you and your family from water borne illnesses. This water system makes it possible for you to enjoy pure, clean drinking water during those hot tropical days.
The West Bay area is desirable not only for the powder white sand beach and easy swimming but for the nightlife and dining and the proximity to the attractions. You can literally walk to everything and would not have to rent a car to enjoy all that West Bay has to offer. If you do want to rent a car, there is a secure parking lot right behind the unit. What's great about the location of Coral Sands 4 is you can catch a water taxi ride to West End right outside your condo. West End is a village with duty-free shops, restaurants, bars and plenty of dive shops. Water taxis typically run from 8am to dusk, giving you ample time to explore the area. If you'd like to stay later, you can always grab a taxi. If you are interested in other services, our concierge can help you make the most of your vacation, arranging diving, snorkeling, massage, chef, nanny and much more. We work hard to take the stress away so you can fully enjoy your vacation.
Rarely does a vacation exceed expectations, but our family's March 2011 visit to the Coral Sands complex on West Bay Beach in Roatan easily did just that. This beautiful 2nd floor condo is the absolute best location on one of the greatest beaches. This is an excellent 3 bedroom condo with two outdoor spaces and more than enough room. In fact, this unit is so close to the beach, we often enjoyed sitting on the deck watching our boys play on the beach below. You cannot get any closer. The location of Coral Sands affords you the opportunity to get involved as much as you want with all of the activity on West Bay Beach. Whether you want to wade the short distance to the reef to snorkel, kayak, fishing, parasail or just stroll the beach to visit one of restaurants for lunch, dinner or a cocktail, it is all right there. If you want to visit West End, water taxis are on the pier right your backdoor. Unfortunately, this condo and vacation has raised our vacation standard and will be hard to meet in the future. Of course, we can always go back.
From the time you walk in and first see the ocean view, you're hooked. Managers met us at the steps and made sure we were comfortable and answered any questions. Bertha also left a phone and her telephone number if we had questions during our week stay. She helped me also to get to a yoga class that was absoulutely amazing at sunset. She also helped arrange a cook to come in for a special dinner. We chose the food and enjoyed an amazing meal. My husband and I travel w 2 other couples and it was very important we all have our own bedrooms and bathroom. This filled the wish list. Spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, and linens. The unit was clean and beautiful. You can be on the patio and just sit and enjoy the view. The pier is right there for taxis and excursions. A walk down the beach has so many good restaurants and bars. Our favorite when not our sight seeing.
I would recommend this property for the comfort, the rooms, the beds, the view and the managers. I can't wait to go back.
We have stayed in this condo for the past three years and we keep coming back. The view is simply beautiful! You are literally on the beach where chairs are provided and the security guard is always happy to put up an umbrella if you prefer shade. We spend the mornings scuba diving and the afternoons soaking up the sunshine on West Bay Beach.
The condo is very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are large. The beds are very comfortable with high quality linens. The kitchen has everything you need if you prefer to cook in. The living area is very spacious and a great place to watch a movie or have a family game night.
We highly recommend this property! The staff at Roatan Life Vacation Rentals are the best I have ever dealt with. I typically work with Liz for booking, questions, check-in etc. She makes the entire process feel seamless. Liz is starting to feel like family! We also had the pleasure of meeting Bertha, Frankie and Tree and also another maintenance staff that I can't remember but they were all exceptional! We had to call for a couple of minor things and they were there within the hour and very happy to help in any way they could. I have also had the pleasure of dealing with Mike a few years back and he was also wonderful.
Fabulous property and great customer service! Many thanks to the owner of Coral Sands #4 and the staff at Roatan Life Vacation Rentals for making our stay the best. Hope to see you again next year!
My family, friends and I spend a wonderful week at Coral Sands 4. the place is beautifull. the house is full equiped. the view is expectacular. Best place in Roatan.
We just got back from renting this beautiful condo on West Bay Beach! We went with our grown daughters and their significant others. It was a great set up for 6 adults! The condo was clean on arrival, well equipped, Liz and Mark were available on email and readily answered all questions. The view from the deck was spectacular all day long. Very comfortable furniture throughout the condo. The deck provided seating in the sun as well as shade! Also on the deck you were able to avoid the many vendors peddling their wear.... Each night we gathered for a beautiful sunset as well! The ocean was a beautiful turquoise color/white sandy bottom to swim and snorkel in/and very safe to take long walks on day or night! Hint: shut off your AC during the day if you open up the sliders because by the end of the week the AC was iffy in the bedrooms.....
We totally enjoyed walking the beach to check out the great restaurants/bars like "Bite on the Beach/Fosters/Beaches/Las Rochas /Bananarama to name a few favorite! Very reasonable to go out for dinner compared to many other vacation spots we have stayed! We did have a great taxi driver that Liz recommended. Frankie, and he picked us up/dropped us off at the airport. We did stock up at the grocery store on arrival from the airport which is a must. Make sure you buy bottled water or check with Liz to buy the water jugs in the condo! If you do not have a rental car (which you do not need!) it is hard to find basics in walking distance, so bring it with you!
Frankie also took us on an afternoon tour of the island which was worth it. Also, one of the best dinners was had in the West End which has shopping/bars/sunsets/etc. just an easy taxi ride or water taxi ride away! We scuba dived with West Bay Divers for the second time and were very happy with them! One of the best vacations ever and we will be sure to return!
This condo is located in the best location by far in Roatan. It is located right on the best beach on the island right on West Bay Beach next to the Infinity Bay Resort. There is central air conditioning and three bedrooms each with a bathroom (no bath tubs only showers). The property manager provides a cell phone with the condo with 5 dollars worth of calls (it lasted us a few days) with the option to purchase additional minutes. The deck is beautiful to watch the sunsets. Also, there is a lovely kitchen and another off beach patio with a nice grille. Swim from your condo to perhaps the best snorkeling that I have ever seen and an amazing reef (10 min swim from the shore!)
There were several issues though with the condo. Number 1, there is no generator which on an island where the power is frequently shut off for safety reasons (ie during heavy wind storm to prevent damage with downed power lines) is a challenge. Because the water pump runs on the electrical grid that means you have to water to do laundry when there is no power. caution rainy season is dec/jan in roatan.
Issue number two was the place was not cleaned properly initially. My friend was stuck by a diabetic needle that was on his bathroom floor which had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. We did contact the property manager and they sent someone to properly clean the place the next day .
Issue number three, the property manager charged us 130 dollars to purchase new towels as they said that we stained the towels and they were unable to remove the towels and they were brand new. I do not know if they in fact were irrevocably stained but I believe this is unfair and they should warn the renter prior if they plan to charge to minor blemishes (ie this should be on the contract and explicitly stated).
Overall a nice condo and the property manager was responsive to calls.
Recommend for restaurants:
Breakfast, the mayan princess has an awesome breakfast buffet with fresh omelets for only 12 dollars a person.
javavine, located at west bay mall, awesome coffee, owners are Canadian and very nice.
buy one get one free coupon in the west bay snorkel and road map brochure.
Lunch, café Escondido (located in west end) a water taxi will transport you for about 5 dollars a person round trip. pizza at paradise beach club very good, Monday 2 for 1 pizza.
Dinner, by far the best restaurant we ate at on roatan was vintage pearl, free bottle of wine coupon in the west bay map.
We arrived on Roatan on 1/17/2013 and saw the sun... It was the last we saw of it until we flew out on the 26th of Jan. This is not a complaint of the villa, but so you can better appreciate we used the villa to the fullest extent as we could not get outside very much in the rain / wind.
The description / pictures are quite accurate to the villa. The ceiling fans on the outside front patio are not there anymore, otherwise everything is as is. We have rented numerous VRBO villas over the years and this was the only one that had a full, complete set of everything in the kitchen. We wanted for nothing. It was wonderful. Other high points: Mark, the concierge for Roatan Life, was outstanding. We attempted to book our own rental car via Costco's discount and Dollar. On arrival, not only didn't Dollar have our car (or any cars), but they were not even at the airport! Mark saved our bacon in finding another one. Lesson learned here, if you think you need a vehicle in Roatan, have Mark or whomever your concierge is, book it for you. You won't waste two hours at the airport trying to get another one.
The downsides of the villa:
1) Beach traffic with the cruise ships. On cruise ship arrival days, the passengers come in mass via buses to the beach. It gets awfully crowded and loud. You'll love the non-cruise days.
2) No outside shower for washing off gear or yourself from the ocean. They have a small foot bath by the front door.
3) No direct access to the beach. You need to walk through the parking lot to get there and around the front.
4) No generator for back-up power. The power went off frequently due to the weather so this was inconvenient.
5) No screens on the windows to be let the sea breeze or to turn off the A/C.
We spent most of our time snorkeling and went diving with Bananarama Dive Resort. Great people, good equipment and very skilled. The reef was absolutely fantastic whether it be snorkeling or diving. We took our 4 y/o to the Gumbalimba park for the monkey encounter. It is actually a tour, which we weren't initially interested in, but it was worth while in the end. Being able to handle the monkeys / macaws was a total treat. We also went to Anthony's Key Resort for the dolphin encounters. For 30 minutes, you get into shallow water (3 feet or so) and meet / pet the dolphin while the trainer talks to you. The 4 y/o loved it.
Despite the rain, we had a good time and the villa is well equipped for being stuck indoors!
West Bay Beach is located at the Western most point of Roatan and features one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. Coral Sands 4 is a 2-story, 2nd floor unit located right on this famous beach. There is plenty to do in West Bay, such as swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, chartering boats, as well as the many bars and restaurants at your fingertips. If you would like to head to West End for a different scene, just hop on the many water taxis that you can find at the dock right next to your unit. Roatan is ready for you to explore!
