I grew up in Halifax Nova Scotia and my parents had a cottage on the same road were we now live all year round. As a kid we spent many summer days at the beach located in front of SURFS UP our cottage rental. This is a very quiet beach and many times you are the only one in the beach.
Located at a dead end road not much traffic and a great spot to watch and listen to the ocean.
We have a fantastic beach a quarter mile long, and when the surf is up we get many surfers surfing in front of the cottage. We have wildlife deer, and numerous birds.
We stayed Dec.30 and 31 and were overwhelmed by the surf and the waves the day we arrived. Brian was a great host showing us the ins and outs of the cottage and even helped us with our luggage. The cottage is of the highest quality inside and out. It is a blend of rustic and modern throughout. The furnishings and decor are first class.
We are already talking about the possibility of returning in the Summer to enjoy the beach. The fact the cottage is open year round makes this an ideal getaway for two people at any time of the year.

Great accommodations with meticulous detailing. Warm helpful gracious receptive hosts. Location is gorgeous, quiet and placid in November with wonderful heat and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely revisit!
Was unable to make it up (last minute change of plans), but the house and location look great. Maybe next year!
The accommodations and location far exceeded our expectations.
The loft is pristine. It is bright, airy, and both beautifully furnished and decorated. It is obvious that much thought and care went into creating this space.
The views from the bedroom and the deck are sublime, not to mention the sounds of the nearby surf.
Cathie and Brian were the consummate hosts, eager to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of Eagle Head Bay while appreciating the convenience and proximity to nearby Liverpool. The location of the property also made it easy to plan and enjoy wonderful day trips throughout the province. We visited Peggy's Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenberg, Blue Rocks (a must see), Bridgewater and Keji Seaside Adjunct on the South Shore. The drive along the lighthouse trail is not to be missed. We drove along the Evangeline trail up the Acadian coastline, taking in both Yarmouth and Digby. Visits to Cape Fourchu and Cape Ste-Mary's are a must. On these trips we made stops in Kejimkujik Park for a bit of deer spotting. We also toured the Annapolis Valley and the farm belt of Canning and the cliffs of Blomidon.
When not touring, we enjoyed walks on nearby beaches, including Summerville, Risser's, Crescent and Hirtle's. My husband is an avid golfer who played several rounds at Osprey Ridge, Chester, and Digby Pines.
We became regular visitors to the LaHave bakery and Port Grocer Cafe in nearby Port Medway.
All in all a most memorable trip. We would recommend this rental property without any reservations whatsoever.
We spent two glorious weeks here and are already planning a return trip in 2017.

What a great place to spend the first 4 nights of our one month Nova Scotia vacation. "Surfs Up" is the perfect accommodation for a couple. The rental includes a really lovely master bedroom with very comfy King bed, ceiling fan and lots of windows allowing for views of gorgeous sunsets. The adjoining bathroom is spacious and the kitchen is so well stocked, better than some larger homes that we have rented. The owners are so friendly and willing to provide you with lots of information regarding things to do, places to visit, and the best restaurants in the area. We used "Surfs Up" as our base for exploring Lunenburg, Shelburne and Lockeport, and Keji Seaside. We highly recommend this accommodation to others!
Surf's Up is as described, or better - excellent accommodations.Just what we wanted, a quiet ocean front home to base our daily local excursions from. Brian and Catherine were excellent hosts with lots of helpful suggestions for things to see and do. A great stay - highly recommended!
