Centrally located in the heart of down town Kona, it’s one block away from the waterfront (Alii Drive). Walking distance to the pier, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Bubba Gumps, Farmer's Market, Kona Brewing Co.(Pub), Longs Drug, Safeway, and the library are also nearby. Costco is approx. 5 miles away. Swimming and surfing spots along Alii Drive...5-minute walking distance.

We are 7.5 miles away from Kona International Airport. The condo is centrally located downtown Kona.....walking distance away are historical sites, pier, athletic club, waterfront restaurants, pub (Kona Brewery) and shops. Public tennis courts and a 25-yd swimming pool are also nearby...5-8 minutes drive away. Bowling alley with a 'Kid Zone' play area...10 minute walking distance away or 5 minutes drive. Cinemas and miniature golfing....5 minute drive from the condo. The unit includes one designated parking space. We also provide a cell phone for guests who are interested in purchasing prepaid minutes.
The condo was very spacious, tastefully decorated and well appointed. There is a wide selection of beach gear (snorkel gear, towels, mats, boogie boards, coolers, chairs...) The kitchen was fully stocked. The pool area is larger than I expected based on the photo. It's very well located. The screened in lanai is great. The condo is clean and well taken care of.
It is located on a major road (Hawaii style), so there is some road noise. Not an issue for us. The mattress is on the softer end of the spectrum - if that is of concern to you.

We, including our teenage son, had a great time in the Kona area and having this condo as home base was part of the joy.
What a great place to stay in Kailua-Kona!! I brought my parents on vacation here just a few weeks ago and we had such an amazing time! The condo was spacious enough for three adults to live/ sleep for nine nights. It was so nice to have a washer/dryer, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, etc as well as a kitchen with all the appliances you would need (all though we did eat out a lot). The lanai was great to have breakfast on and watch the day begin, and the condo was a very close walk to shopping/restaurants on Ali'i Drive, as well as very centrally located to grocery stores, Walmart, airport. I would definitely recommend the condo to my family and friends, and will definitely rent here again when I come back to The Big Island. Easy drive from condo to Waimea, Hilo, Volcano, and southern route with minimal maps. The vacation of a lifetime!!
First, the location of Kailua-Kona was great because it was a convenient central starting place to explore the all parts of this side of the island as well as some parts of the other side.
This condo is not on the main drag of Ali’i Drive but is only a couple of blocks from it, so it was easy to walk to the Pier and the shops and restaurants on Ali’i Drive. It is also only a couple of blocks to Kona Brewing, which is a great place. Even though this condo is in a larger complex, it was very quiet and private and the lanai faced the parking lot and street so you couldn’t see any other condos or any neighbors in the complex. The view was great and we had such a nice breeze the entire time we were that we didn’t have to turn on the A/C at all. It is also well laid out and maximized the space. Although we didn’t use the kitchen that much, it was very well stocked with all the tools you would need to cook a great meal. This condo was also well stocked with beach things such as towels, snorkel fins, boogie board, etc.
We have stayed in lots of warm, tropical places and know that kind of environment can easily make for damp, moldy, buggy places but this condo was none of those things. This condo was very clean and everything worked well and was obvious it is well cared for and well maintained.
Marianne was a pleasure to work with! She is friendly and always responded quickly. She provided us with helpful information before our visit and she even took the time to stop by and make sure our stay was going well.
We highly recommend this condo and we will definitely stay here again next time we vacation in Kona!
My boyfriend and I stayed 5 nights in the condo and it was great!! The condo was well furnished with everything we needed. Items such as snorkel gear, boogie boards, 3 different size coolers, beach towels, beach mats, cooling gel for that sunburn and all sorts of other items/amenities for us to use, which only made us regret packing some of our own stuff with us on the flight. We particularly loved the enclosed lanai which allowed us to have breakfast outside while taking in the ocean view and keeping any bugs out. We stayed in the condo over 4th of July weekend and because the unit is on the 3rd floor we could see the fireworks that were being set off near Kailua pier, it was beautiful!! The location of the rental is ideal and very convenient as you are within walking distance to many good restaurants, Kailua pier, the farmer's market or just to take a stroll along the beach. We eventually found it a lot easier to walk to most of the places vs. driving since finding parking can be tough.
The unit was clean, bed was comfy, A/C unit (but we didn't need it as the weather was just perfect), internet provided, and neighbors very friendly with the aloha spirit! Marianne, the owner, was also very friendly and great as she provided us with lots of useful information and maps regarding the area.
- When driving to the condo follow Marianne's directions since a GPS might guide you to the wrong condo complex, our GPS did that since there are several condo complexes in that area.
- Snorkeling at Captain Cook's monument, highly recommended and if you're lucky you might see dolphins, we unfortunately didn't.
- Lava Java for some good coffee, you can now text your order to them to avoid the long lines. There's internet in the condo so just look them up.
- Waipio Valley, if you get a 4WD rental and brave enough to go down to the base of the valley. If you're lucky you might see the wild horses like we did!
This is our second time in Kona, the first time we stayed in a hotel and paid a lot since they charge you for everything i.e. resort fee, parking, snorkel rentals, internet, paying extra for that ocean view, etc. This time we decided to try a vacation rental, this was our first time in a condo rental and it was a great first experience and very budget friendly! Highly recommended and will stay again!!
Great location. Much closer to the beach and shops than i expected. Lots of perks like body boards, flippers, and beach towels. I would stay here again. Very relaxing.
The property was very clean and everything you needed was included, beach chairs, snorkel gear, even some groceries! We were in walking distance from all the shopping and restaurants. Tip: Read the visitors log when you arrive, there's lots of great tips and recommendations on where to go & what to see! I would definitely recommend a few days on the other side of the island! Property has a queen bed and a pull-out sofa in the living room so unless you have kids, it's not a place for 4, also condo is on the 3rd floor & I didn't see any elevator so if you don't want to climb 3 flights of stairs this may not be the place for you, BUT the 3rd floor was great for the ocean view. I would definitely recommend this property :)
