Walk to beach & Parker River Wildlife Refuge.
This is a fantastic hideaway for a weekend or long lazy week in the summer and is in a wonderful quiet tucked away location.
After staying many times with friends, I could not pass up the opportunity to own a home on this laid back island. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The cottage had everything we could have asked for! The kitchen was well stocked, so we were able to cook with ease. The fireplace added to the cozy vibe. The beach was a short walk away. Wifi and cable were a plus for the rainy day we had! We had a very relaxing time, and the location was perfect! The cottage is well cared for!
Perfect location for enjoying the beach, biking, birding and shopping within 5 minutes of town and restaurants. The kitchen has everything one would need to make your own meals.
Ed's place was just as seen in the pictures on VRBO. My wife and I were stoked when we opened the door to exactly what we thought we were getting into. Ed was very responsive and helpful with local information since we were visiting from California. Our time was short since we were visiting for a friends wedding, but we felt right at home in this cottage. Very comfortable bed, great fire place that put out some heat and had all the amenities that you need. A very short walk to the beach for your long walks and surf when it hits. When we return we will be looking to contact Ed for possibly renting his place again.
Thanks again Ed!
My husband and I loved Plum Island and Newburyport . The cottage was perfect and very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed .
This lovely property is less than a 2 minute walk to the beach. The home itself is impeccably decorated and has everything you could need. It sits among 6 other similar small studio like homes which is very unusual for Plum Island. I'm not sure there is anywhere nicer on the island that accommodates a couple looking for a relaxing retreat.
The cottage is a lovely and very well appointed/equipped retreat for a couple. It's close to the beach and convenient to the Parker River refuge. For us (a retired couple with family in the area) it was an ideal spot for a relaxing two weeks filled with Plum Island exploring and visiting family. We hope to return for future visits. Check out nearby Mad Martha's for breakfast and the Beachcoma and Plum Island Grill for dinners.....and sunsets from the Grill. We appreciated Edward's help with any questions we had prior to and during our stay. His emailed brochure fully described the cottage and its contents, and was helpful too. We couldn't have been more pleased with this "Placid Plumtucket" cottage. It is also convenient to Newburyport and an easy drive to all the sights of the North Shore from Cape Ann in Massachusetts to Portsmouth, Maine.
This charming, new, modern cottage with everything you need for a stress free escape is located on Plum Island and is just a block from the beach.
Plum Island, Massachusetts is an island located off the northeast coast of Massachusetts, north of Cape Ann. It is a barrier island approximately 11 miles (18 km) in length. The island is named for the wild beach plum shrubs that grow on its dunes.
The island has a national wildlife refuge, restaurants and of course miles of beautiful sandy beaches.
Plum Island offers miles of public sandy beaches and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, home to over 800 species of birds, plants and animals on 4,662 acres. Sandy Point on the southern tip of Plum Island is a State Park and a wonderful place to swim, sun yourself or go tidepooling.
Massachusetts Audubon Society's Joppa Flats Education Center is located just over the bridge from the island. They organize bird watching tours and other educational programs for adults and family.
