The Sea Anemone Yachats is a cozy and private ocean view vacation rental house just steps from the 804 trail. We are located at the end of a quiet street with easy access to both the rocky shore and miles of sandy beach. View whales from the living room, dining, and kitchen areas.

Guests have stated our home is very relaxing. The main level open floor plan living/dining/kitchen area is furnished with comfortable upholstered furniture for viewing the ocean or watching winter storms. Bamboo flooring adds to the bright mood of the home.

Wifi and cable are included. An antique oak dining table seats 4 as you dine with ocean view. The large deck off the dining/living room is supplied with a BBQ for grilling and Adirondack rocking chairs for relaxing from April through October.

The kitchen is bright and open, and fully equipped for your self-catered cooking needs. The gas fireplace stove adds to the cozy ambiance of the Cottage. Relax in the upper level bath with a mineral soak in the claw foot bathtub with an authentic porthole window.

The lower level bedrooms are each furnished with comfortable queen beds. Guests have complimented us on our comfortable beds and quality linens. Unpack and unwind with ease with dressers supplied in each bedroom. Relax in seclusion on the lower covered deck.

The loft library is a sanctuary where you can seclude yourself with your morning coffee and a book, ocean view included. A second TV and DVD player are in the loft. The loft is not designated as a sleeping area. Older kids love our loft and climbing the unique ladder-stairs to their own private hideaway.

Several trails from the house lead to the 804 Trail, a two minute walk, where you can explore tide pools on the rocky shore and enjoy hiking above the surf. Stroll the historic 804 Trail along the rocky shore to the Adobe Restaurant, Smelt Sands Park, or continue on into the quaint village of Yachats, for shopping and dining. Continue north on the 804 Trail for 7 miles of sandy beach for your enjoyment.

A true little gem of an Oregon Coast Vacation Rental in Yachats! Perfect for a romantic getaway, a retreat with friends or a fun weekend escape for a small family. Or, perhaps an escape for a bit of solitude just for you.

About Barbara and David

I was 21 years old on my first visit to Yachats and I fell in love with the scenic area, especially Cape Perpetua. Over the years, visits to the Oregon Coast became my favorite relaxation destination.

Barbara and David purchased this house in 2013

Why Barbara and David chose Coastal Oregon

This property fulfilled my dream of owning a beach home in Yachats, Oregon. I love every room in my house. The sight and sound of the surf is meditation on many levels. Our home is cozy and inviting. A perfect place to relax, replenish, and rejuvenate your soul.

What makes this house unique

The open living area on the main floor with a wonderful ocean view is fun and relaxing. The loft is really a sanctuary to get away from the stresses of life. The constant action of the surf is mesmerizing. Location of our home is ideal with easy access to the historic 804 Trail to explore tide pools on the rocky shore or walk miles of sandy beach. Yachats offers many dining and shopping opportunities and is a relaxing and laid back place to visit. Our blend of unique and friendly shop owners appreciate your visits, too.

My husband, David, and I welcome you to our home, the Sea Anemone.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Exceeded expections; so cozy we did not want to leave

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived, this place felt like home. It was cozy, welcoming, and closer to the shore than I was expecting. The view is a combination of magical forest and ocean waves. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked. the bathrooms welcome with a lovely handsoap and the world's softest towels. The best part is the location - you will find yourself at the end of a quiet, unobtrusive street. There are other houses nearby, but Yachats proper is a little bit of a stroll away. This part of the coast boast some lovely, unique vistas, ideas for scenic photography, or just sitting and taking it all in.

In the words of Douglas McCarthy (though a considerably different context) "I will return."

Owner's Response: Fran - I am glad you found the Sea Anemone comfortable and relaxing. It is a perfect spot for reading and writing or even practicing guitar. We are fortunate to be only a 2 minute walk to the 804 Trail that parallels the shore. A stroll through the trees with a camera offers many opportunities for interesting shots of mushrooms when they are up in October. You are most welcome to come back again. Barbara and David

This house has everything you could possibly need, plus the sound of crashing waves was music to our heart. We had a blast going for a hike by the house, got to take beautiful pictures of my family with crashing waves behind them. In town we enjoyed the best fish and chips ever at Luna Sea Fish House, could drink the tar sauce it's so good. Great service. The bread and rose Bakery, has great fresh bread, but they run out early. Still had great goodies to pick through. Yum. The sandland adventure offer a dune buggy ride the whole family could enjoy. My husband and I,with our 2 teenage daughters, had a blast. We are doing that again, soon. There is so much to do and see, if u want or just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with your love one. We our differently making this little piece of paradise a family tradition. Thanks to Barbara for sharing your home away from home. It was a great 32'nd wedding anniversary.

Owner's Response: Gina, I am so happy that your family enjoyed your stay at the Sea Anemone. Our 2 bedroom house is perfect for small families like yours. There is so much to do in the area and I agree that you should come back soon. Sandland Adventures, with dune rides, is within easy driving distance, including beautiful views along the way, and is a fun activity for teens and adults. There are some very nice hikes right in town that kids enjoy, as well. Congratulations again on your 32nd wedding anniversary. Thank you for selecting the Sea Anemone to celebrate with your family. Warmly, Barbara

Every little detail though of!

We can't rave enough about this cute gem on the beach. Our hosts have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and sweet. The trail out front is an amazing windy path giving us incredible views of the wild pacific coast. Storm watching, cozy beds, views from the main level, great times, forest walks, and comforts of home- what more do you need? Thank you Barbara and David!

Owner's Response: Erin, I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your time at the Sea Anemone. I had a feeling it would be a perfect fit for your weekend celebrations. I love the trail through the woods too, and have my own meditation log where I sometimes sit to just be in nature. We are fortunate to be close to the 804 trail for long walks on the beach, too. Thank you for the kind words and I hope you think of us on your next trip to Yachats. Warmly, Barbara

Cozy, quiet, and great location to beach trail.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Barbara's Sea Anemone house very much. It's close enough to the town of Yachats to walk along the beach to get there. For those less adventurous, downtown is a quick mile drive down the road. We loved the location to trail 804 and the house was neat, with all the comforts of home. The house is small with a lot packed into it as far a layout. The only downside to this is the noise of the upstairs floor for anyone sleeping in the bedrooms below. The smallest movements were significantly loud and creaky downstairs. Also note that the futon bed in the attic space is not for sleeping (a fire restriction) and definitely not a hangout for little ones as the stairs up to it are steep. Barbara let us know this before we committed, but it wasn't clear in the initial description. Barbara was ultra accommodating and sweet. Thank you for a nice stay!

Owner's Response: Kelly, thank you for your kind review and I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are fortunate to be near the 804 trail with easy access to the beach for walking and beachcombing. I appreciate that you and your friends selected our two bedroom beach home for your weekend retreat with your little ones. Your feedback and perspective are very important and helpful to me. I agree with you that the loft is best used by kids older than toddler age and I have updated my description to relay that message. Thanks again for your visit to the Sea Anemone.

I absolutely love this place! Ocean veiw, relaxin.

  • 5 of 5

Everything anyone could possibly need for a vacation home is supplied. The attention to detail is fantastic. Very, VERY, clean (and I am a clean freak!) From binoculars for wale watching from the living room to a large selection of books, movies, and board games to entertain the family even when the weather keeps you from the outdoors is a touch. My boys loved the loft and made it their home for the stay. Very kid friendly. Love that the 804 ocean front trail is about a two minute walk to get to. Great place! Great location, (one block away from Hwy 101, so no traffic noise, like many beach rentals.) The only sound you hear is the breaking of waves, soooo sereal and relaxing. I wish I could add another star! IT'S THAT GOOD! :)

Older kids love having their own private getaway. (Of course, supervision is required for young children in the loft). I am happy you found our home well supplied to meet your needs. We are fortunate to be only 2 minutes walk to the 804 Trail. Thank you again for your review. Barbara

comfort and attention to detail!

  • 5 of 5

This home is WONDERFUL. Every detail has been attended to. The house was spotless, and all the furniture is very comfortable. The beds were REALLY comfy too! The layout is well thought out--the rooms are definitely cozy but the three levels make it feel like there's a lot of space.

The description was, if anything, underrated. (I'm a stickler for details, and this place was a gem.) The house was well stocked, like someone stocks their home. The decor was quite pleasant. The gas stove added an instant cozy feel.

There was even epson salt for a soak in the claw foot tub, and a little window by the tub through which the waves are visible while soaking! The loft is an adorable little getaway, lovely for wave or movie watching. We had worries that on this stormy weekend we would not get enough of a view, but the setting was great, and it's a stone's throw to Yachats' 804 trail--how cool is that.

We will absolutely recommend this property to all of our friends and hope to stay again!
