About the property

Studio unit with queen-sized Murphy bed close to downtown and buses

This charming studio is the perfect get-away! Cozy, comfortable, and homey. It's an efficiency, and comes with a queen-sized Murphy bed. The backyard is so peaceful and serene, it's hard to believe you're merely blocks away from 4-star restaurants.

The studio is in the basement of my 1909 Craftsman bungalow, with its own separate entrance. It's newly renovated. The kitchenette has a small stove top, microwave, refrigerator, pans, dishes, spices, everything you need to do as much or as little cooking as you'd like! The front of the Murphy bed folds down into a desk, so you can work or write. You have access to my WiFi network, as well as a washer and dryer. There's also a TV with basic cable, DVD player, and some DVDs.

Public transportation is readily available. Great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques are all in walking distance. Don't rent a car unless you really need one. Street parking is available, but if you'd like, I can offer you off-street parking for an extra $10/night.

My neighborhood continues to grow in density. I host a lot of parents coming to see their kids, who are either at college or living nearby.

About The Owner

I have lived and traveled all over the world. Seattle is my home now. I've been here the longest I've ever lived anywhere (over 10 years now.) I love this place, and I love sharing it with other people. I try to eat at a different restaurant every week, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about the local food scene.

I'm a full time novelist, so I'm around all day. When the weather is nice, I will be sharing the backyard with you, working outside all day.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Seattle

I love Seattle, and I think you will too.

What makes this house unique

It's such a short walk to everything here. If you like walking, you can easily go to Interlaken, which is a couple of square miles of wilderness in the heart of the city. Or you can walk downtown. The restaurants in the area are fabulous, and many of the specialize in local and organic food. You're also in walking distance of five grocery stores, in case you want to do some of your own cooking.

Great Location and Necessities

Capitol Hill was the perfect location for beautiful neighborhoods, close by restaurants, coffee, grocery store and to the person we were visiting. We really appreciated having the coffee there for us and all the kitchen things so we felt like we were at home. Everything was tidy and taken care of nicely. Leah left us plenty of notes so we knew where to find the things we needed. Loved having a recycling and compost too! It was also a nice quiet area, so at night it doesn't sound like a busy city, great for sleeping.

Nice neighborhood close to Capitol Hill

This is a lovely property, nice and cool, with a garden for the guests to use right out the door. The bathroom and the kitchen have everything you need. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I would recommend it to a friend.

I absolutely loved it. Great little spot in the basement of a house. Location was amazing, if you're not familiar with Seattle, it's a hipster neighborhood and the apartment is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and cafes. Definitely recommend!!

I stayed here for a couple of days and when i arrived, leah was there to greet me and it was very welcoming. Perfect location for bus and train transportation and very close to restaurants and shopping as well. The room itself was very cozy, with the pull-out bed, small kitchenette, and the shower was my favorite part because you can sit down on a small bench like part in the back n of the shower. Overall i very much enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in seattle.

Best Choice

I stayed at this property for the third time and it's the best choice for me for several reasons. The location is excellent because it's a fairly short walk to several bus stops that go to different parts of downtown or other Seattle locations. It's also a short walk to supermarkets, drug stores, and restaurants in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, even tho the street it's on is a quiet residential street. Even more important for me it's near the home of the relatives I'm visiting.

The owner keeps the rental property clean and well-stocked with towels. The small kitchen area is ideal with everything you need if you want to do serious cooking (which I don't) but I like the options of making breakfast and keeping basics in the 'fridge for breakfast and snacks. The private entry is secure and one can come and go whenever you choose.

I plan to stay here again and recommend it highly.
