Come escape the city and stay in our gorgeous, newly renovated, three-bedroom country house, just three miles from historic New Paltz.
Situated on 4 acres, our two-level house boasts sweeping views of the Shawangunk mountains from both the living room and the master bedroom, a professional open kitchen complete with Viking range and microwave, a large, communal dining table, lovely wide oak plank flooring, and comfortable sleeping arrangements for six. Outside, there’s an open patio/deck, charcoal grill, table for eight, and a hammock.
Perfect for both active and relaxing lifestyles, our house is located down the street from a twelve mile long “rail trail”, good for jogging, hiking, bicycling, or horseback riding, and minutes from the Mohonk Preserve (“Gunks”), and some of the world’s best rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking. There is a nearby skydiving center, and, for swimming enthusiasts, the clear lakes of Lake Minnewaska and Lake Awosting await. Apple picking in one of the region’s many apple orchards is available just down the street, and the local harvest may be sampled straight from the farmers in the several nearby farmers’ markets.
In New Paltz proper, you will find the National Landmark District of historic Huguenot Street from the early 1700s that mark the founding of this town, as well as the more modern amenities of grocery stores, restaurants, bars, wineries, antique shops, movie theater, yoga centers, and climbing gym.
Whether you’re on a family vacation or a romantic weekend getaway, we’re sure you’ll feel happy and comfortable in our house and we invite you to come, relax, and explore the area.

I am a photographer in New York City for 32 years. First came to the area in 1982 and competed on a skydiving team at the Ranch in Gardiner. Hundreds of skydives later, I discovered rock climbing on the pristine cliffs of the Mohonk Preserve.
After years of camping and sharing apartments, I decided to buy a house because I would never tire of the area and all that it has to offer.
26 years later, I still am rock climbing among many other activities. But every year, I find a new trail, a new place to swim, or a new country inn with amazing food!
The Owner purchased this house in 1988
THOUGH I DIDN'T GET MY CHANCE TO STAY AT THIS INVITING AND COMFORTABLE LOOKING HOME. I AM GIVING IT A FIVE STAR. THE FIRST BECAUSE CHRISTOPHER WAS THE ONLY ONE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ME WITH SUCH SHORT NOTICE. SECONDLY, HE DETOUR TO HIS OFFICE TO CHECK IF HE HAD AN OPENING. THIRDLY, HE KEPT CALLING ME UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO ANSWER THE PHONE (MY GRANDSON KEEPS ME BUSY).
FOURTHLY, HE APOLOGIZED BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE THE DATES I NEEDED. FIFTH AND LASTLY, HE WAS A TOTAL GENTLEMAN AND I APPRECIATE THIS VERY MUCH.
I CAN SEE HE DOES CARE ABOUT HIS CLIENTS . ONE DAY I'LL TRY AGAIN. ADA
My friends and I came to this house for NYE - it was great, clean and cozy and everything we hoped it would be. We loved having fires in the woodstove and cooking in the kitchen. The large windows made the space feel very light and open. It was quiet enough to feel a bit out of the way, but close enough to town and trails for outside entertainment. I would definitely come back.
The house was wonderful, very clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. We had two young children and it was perfect. Very close to town center of New Paltz and 87 so made it great and very accessible for lots of sightseeing and adventures in the beautiful surroundings. Christopher was great to deal with and whole process very easy. Highly recommend!
This was an ideal place to spend time with our family. The place is well cared for and exceptionally clean and comfortable. The TV was in a bedroom and never used. We were unable to see some of the places we planned on visiting because it snowed however everyone seemed very happy spending the time together in this beautiful surroundings watching it snow, playing games and just enjoying each others company. Wonderful cooking area, large table.....everything you would want away from home to enjoy your family.
My boyfriend and I, along with another couple, spent four days climbing at the Gunks. This house was perfect for us! The living area is very comfortable with big couches, lots of windows and nice views. There's a nice big table for meals and a spacious kitchen. The house was very clean and well kept. The bedrooms are spaced nicely so that you aren't right on top of each other. If you are looking for plush and luxury, this isn't the place for you. But, if you are looking for a cozy and comfortable place to sit with friends at the end of the day, this house is ideal. Plan to stay here again when we come back to the Gunks!
We have two little kids, and felt that we had to leave without staying. Although the house and the setting were nice, the unfinished state of the house was unacceptable. To begin with no housing inspector would allow occupancy when a door leads out to a second story that is not there! The owner has leaned a railing against this that is not secured, and is too short to be any kind of barrier. There are also exposed wires, unfinished taped over light switches, stairs without a railing.
I was most uneasy about the electrical work, which was unfinished. When we arrived many of the lights would not turn on. Perhaps it was a fuse issue, but I had no confidence that the electrical work was done by a competent person. Especially since an inspector could not have signed off on what I saw. Adding to our unease, we couldn't find a single smoke detector in the house-just jacks where they are supposed to be mounted. Thats illegal.
In addition to the building code violations, the house is just not child proof. The hallway to the master bedroom is filled with tools and paints or cleaners- all within reach of kids. I had specifically asked the owner if the cracked paint on the furniture was old, possibly lead paint. He told me that the pieces were faux painted to look old. After we arrived I bought a lead test from the hardware store and checked the paint on two pieces of furniture-both had blazing high levels of lead. Kids put their mouths and hands on furniture- hands go into mouths- and very low levels of lead can cause developmental problems that are irreversible.
There was no way I would be able to relax with my kids there. The owner said they could fix everything the next morning, but I couldn't see how that could happen over a 4 day weekend. We asked for our money back and have not received a reply. We purchased three smoke detectors and left them in the house. I really hope that the home owner puts them up for future renters.
