Overview

Texas Hill Country Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

3 BR, 2-1/2 BA with spectacular views, quiet country setting

Exceptionally beautiful 2 story historical 100 yr old country home, situated on 3 acres in the Texas Hill Country. We have a new monthly rate of $6,200.

Our elegantly furnished home features hardwood floors throughout, beautiful oriental rugs, fully equipped eat-in kitchen, separate dining room, 2 living rooms, 1-1/2 bathrooms downstairs and 1 bathroom upstairs.

Driving north of Austin on I-35, I always feel as if I’ve returned to the rest of Texas when I reach Georgetown. Past the sprawl of the capital, though the rip-roaring growth of Round Rock (which looks as if it’s been eating its famous doughnuts), I take a deep, if brief, breath of open prairie and wide sky. Then I duck under the shade of Austin Avenue and its vintage homes and emerge onto one of the prettiest squares in Texas.

Stroll beautiful downtown Georgetown and appreciate some of the finest Victorian architecture in the state of Texas. Unique shopping and delicious dining are some of the options which await you.

In any given week in Georgetown, you can find multiple performances, art openings or live music to experience.

Choose from multiple venues that showcase eclectic and traditional art, or find yourself swept away by award winning performances.

The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas is the stage for many of the festivals and special events in Georgetown. The Red Poppy Festival, held each year in April, is a musical celebration of spring and Georgetown’s signature red poppies. The Christmas Stroll fills the Square with holiday sounds, shopping, and goodies in December. There’s always something happening in Georgetown.

Other activities and attractions in the area include:

- 9 miles of Hike and Bike trails along the South San Gabriel River

- Georgetown Challenge Course. Nestled among the trees lining the North San Gabriel River, this year-round course consists of many low team elements, 22 new and exciting high elements (including parallel zip lines), and 2 climbing walls.

- Disc Golf Course

- Blue Hole, a scenic lagoon lined by limestone bluffs, situated on the South San Gabriel River in Georgetown, Texas

- Georgetown Art Center, located on Main Street

- Georgetown Public Library

- Palace Theater (a year round live theater venue), located on South - Austin Avenue

- Inner Space Caverns is a living cave, which means that its formations are continuing to develop and take shape. For over 80,000 years, the cavern has been constantly changing, allowing for spectacular displays and breathtakingly beautiful formations.

- Antique shopping in nearby Salado

- Stagecoach Inn - Famous dining experience

The perfect family gathering place

  • 5 of 5

This home is absolutely beautiful! Immaculate, and completely stocked with everything you might need! The Elders were amazing hosts, and went above and beyond to see that our stay was perfect! This will be our new "go to" place when we are in the Georgetown area!

  • 5 of 5

Very clean and functional home for a large family for all ages. Really great kitchen and dining, along with family room and back porch, we enjoyed all rooms. The best for my wife and I was a great master bed and bath as well that we could escape to. The Elder family were very helpful and great host during our wedding event stay.

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

I have rented houses before, but never got the personal and friendly touch that we received at our stay in this beautiful home. We celebrated our son's graduation with a big BBQ and pool party and everything was perfect. The picture's do not lie, this house is as gorgeous as they depict. The owner's are friendly and hospitable. Would love to go back soon!

Very nice home/15-30 min outside of Georgetown

  • 4 of 5

The home is beautiful, exceptionally appointed, and has absolutely everything we needed. We arrived on a Monday with my daughter (and now son-in-law) to finish preparations for their wedding in Georgetown on Saturday, and to entertain family who traveled for the wedding at a small BBQ. From the golf cart available for use, to the fluffy towels, plenty of dishes, and comfortable beds, and the pool for the kiddos, the home was great. If we were evaluating only the house, we definitely would have given the property a 5 out of 5 stars.

There are, however, a couple of things that we think future travelers should be aware of. The home is located in Hutto, TX, not in Georgetown proper. While it is within 15-30 minutes of everything in Georgetown, it would have made a difference in our decision making process had we known that he house was not in Georgetown proper, especially given all of the things we needed to accomplish in town. We spent more time in the car and less time together as a result. Secondly – and we are an exceptionally warm and friendly family, we think that future guests should know that the family lives but a few steps from the home you are renting, and the grounds are shared by the lovely couple who own the home you are renting, as well as often times other of their family members. Some of our guests were confused and uncomfortable when they were welcomed by people other than those of us who invited them and rented the home. The Elders are a friendly couple, their grandsons were polite while riding 4-wheleer and motorcycle around the property, and their dogs are well mannered – it just came as a surprise.

Again- based solely on the home, its furnishings, décor, and having what was needed in the way of kitchen, linens, etc., this would have been a grand slam homerun.

Owner's Response: Cathie - So glad you enjoyed your stay and the wedding went well. Your future son-in-law was so nice. As for the Hutto address both ends of our street are Georgetown - just this street is listed as Hutto. We are in the Georgetown ETJ and have a georgetown phone number and all emergency services are in Georgetown for our home. I did check the time to get to Southwestern University (8 minutes), the Union Wedding Venue (10 minutes) and the square in Georgetown (11 minutes) for future guests. We also checked the distance to Walmart in Round Rock and that is 4 miles. Hopefully that will give future guests a better idea for planning their events. Thanks again for staying with us.

Amazing stay in a Gorgeous 103 year old Home!

  • 5 of 5

We were more than pleased with this home on our 4 day/3 night stay in the Georgetown Texas area. The owners have updated this beautiful home with modern day amenities without disturbing the historic feel of the home. We were greeted and shown around by the owners- they were very hospitable- felt like we were visiting an old friend! The home was generously stocked with every kitchen gadget you can imagine, extra pillows, and sheets- felt "like home". The use of a golf cart to load/unload was extra convenient and fun! The yard is amazing- we watched cottontail rabbits playing in the mornings from the kitchen window. The pool was an added luxury and enjoyed by our family- young and old. We hosted a Family Gathering/Reunion here and the family all fell in love with this house! Personally- I didn't want to leave! Loved it!
