Harmony, ME, Great Moose Lake. Located directly on a large beautiful lake in mid-Maine with picturesque glacial rocky shores. The cottage now has high speed internet access. There is a Queen sized bed in each of the 2 bedrooms and 2 double sized pull-out futon. If there will be more than 6 people staying, please discuss with me ahead of time. The cottage is very comfortable with heat available if needed, hot/cold shower, electricity, an oven/stove, microwave and toaster for people's use. It is located in a lovely pine grove 30 feet from the water's edge, with gorgeous views across the lake. There is a canoe and dock, firewood and an outside fire ring. Please inquire if you need a boat ramp as there are a couple of options in the area. Swim, boat, fish or just sit by the lake and listen to the loons.

My wife and I just returned from a lovely week with our Jack Russel. This cabin is truly "away from it all", as the other review mentions it was 30 minutes from the nearest Walmart for supplies. There are neighbors on either side but the trees are dense enough that you don't feel like they're very close at all. The cabin is rustic for sure, but all the basics are provided (cookware, diningware, pillows, blankets, etc). We enjoyed the use of the canoe and the firepit nightly. The stars are truly breathtaking especially for us city folk. Harmony is about 2 hours from Bar Harbor and we spent an awesome day hiking Cadilac Mountain. Another day was spent exploring nearby towns and antiquing. We had a perfect week of peace and tranquility thanks to the Flatrock Inn.
We had an amazing time here. There were six of us and our large family dog. None of us have much camping experience and my wife's first reaction wasn't great. It's a cabin not a hotel so don't expect amenities. Also, buy what you need your first night before you pass through skowhegan because you'll be driving all the way back if you don't. It's 30 minutes to anything.
Once you settle in the place was perfect! All of the clan caught fish off the dock or rocks. The dog LOVED swimming with his people every morning. I'd never heard loons like this at night, it wax truly magical! We spent two nights stargazing as well. They take it for granted up here but you can actually see the Milky Way and we saw tons of shooting stars as well.
The neighbors were great as well. My wife and the kids were taken on a tour of the lake by a neighbor a few properties down and saw a bald eagle! Very nice older gentleman.
If you want to have all the upside of camping up north but with a great indoor escape and hot meals every day you can't do better than this property!
See you next year Jeff!
