Mindie & Josh purchased this Townhome in 2011
Why Mindie & Josh chose Hermosa Village
ONE WORD: LOCATION. Its the closest location to Disneyland. Period. Yes, walking to the park is possible. The tram is an option too. We had YOU & Your Family in mind when we purchased the home. More Convenience, less hassle with loading the car, parking, & paying for it.

Loved having access to hottub, having strollers to choose from, and we enjoyed the Disney theming throughout. Although close enough to see fireworks and technically within walking distance to Disneyland, it is a 1.5 mile walk if you are safely using crosswalks. We ended up paying for parking at Disney so we didn't wear out the kids adding an extra 3 miles on our feet just commuting.
Good host! The apt is a bit aged but kept well
Could be a bit cleaner. The stuffed toys need a wash. The bathroom fan upstairs doesn’t work and the fridge doesn’t have filtered water. Other than that we love the place.
Great location, but disappointing
Like most of the reviews I read before booking this property said, the location is the best thing about this property. We were disappointed as most properties like this that we have stayed in while traveling have been cleaner. The listing says there is a bunk bed with trundle, but there was no trundle. There was a cot and mattress. Some other disappointments include
- sheets on my bed had holes in them
- baseboards and ceiling were quite dirty & dusty, place could use a good deep cleaning
- dishwasher didn't work well and some dishes in the cupboards/drawers were dirty
- toys in the kids room were dirty
- patio area needs a good sweep, there were a lot of dead leaves and dirt
- two of the bathroom sinks barely drained
- dining room chairs are very uncomfortable, and the living room had only a couch so only a few people could sit in there together
- no where to put coats, shoes etc. when you enter the property, some hooks would be really nice so everything isn't laying all over
Overall it was fine and none of these are really major problems, but I think the owners should focus less on the decor of the house and more on the practical amenities. I get that we paid mostly for the location though.
Kids already want to go back
My two year old already wants to go back to our "Disneyland House". In fact, her favorite part about our trip was the playground in the patio - go figure.
Adult perspective - This house was perfect for our needs. They had all sorts of kid friendly toys, movies, dishes, strollers, highchairs and comforts of home that we never would have gotten in a hotel. We had extra room in the house, we didn't have to worry as much about the kids being a little noisy, we didn't have to haul all the kid stuff, we could cook meals and wash clothes as needed and still walk to the park. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated - they even have some of their kids Disney drawings framed on the wall, super cute touch. Everyone in our party (four adults and two under 3) were happy and comfortable. Josh was prompt with replies and very accommodating. Going to Disneyland with two under 3 and grandparents in tow was stressful, the only part of the trip that went as planned was the house. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!! Our biggest complaint would be that crossing the street is a little dicey - but I can't fault the house for that.
Thank you such wonderful accommodations during our family vacation!
Great Location within walking distance. You can walk through Downtown Disney, Catch the tram at the nearby Parking Garage or just after entering Downtown Disney catch the Monorail and enter the park in Tomorrowland.
Comfortable condo with a small kitchen area, living room area and 3 bedroom (1 with a bunk bed). I have no complaints about this property and would recommend and will stay here again.
Wonderful stay close to Disney!
We had a great stay and loved the townhouse. Definitely within walking distance to Disney. Townhouse was clean with lots of room for a group of 5 adults to feel comfortable. Easy access to the Disney property and quiet at night for when we wanted to relax. Would stay again.
Anaheim, CA is home to Disneyland & centrally located. Los Angeles and all of its attractions (Universal Studios, Hollywood, Zoo, Santa Monica beach & pier) is immediately to the north, about a 30-45 minute drive. Freeways are easily accessible (right around the corner). San Diego is immediately to the south. Sea World, Lego Land, the zoo and wild animal park await you there! 1.5 - 2 hours away.
If you want to stay closer to 'home' while your here, you're in luck. Orange County has beaches (Huntington, Newport, Laguna, Balboa Island), amusement parks (Disneyland, California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm), water parks (Soak City, La Mirada Splash), family entertainment (Downtown Disney, local city markets, Medieval Times dinner & tournament), & family fun (Irvine Park & Zoo, Discovery Museum, & more!).
Its time to visit Southern California & stay at Storybook Villa #1.
