our townhouse villa has the warm feel of home, (the owners have called Big Island home for over 30 years!) and features local original artwork, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 couches and luscious leather recliner in the living room; dining room and patio seating for 6. Ca. King beds in the master and guest bedroom. Master has a huge walk-in shower and jetted tub. Spacious lanai off the master suite for enjoying your morning coffee, the singing birds, and view of the beautifully landscaped grounds and the peaks of Mauna Kea. Guest Bedroom has ensuite tub/shower. AND its own TV with same cable channels as downstairs. The Fairways has its own large pool, jacuzzi, workout room, and BBQ area.

When we moved to Hawaii in the early 80's we had a Tennis membership at the Mauna Lani and really enjoyed the tennis, beach, spa, and restaurants. The Beach Club was our son's playground in elementary school time, and now they continue to return here for vacations with our grandchildren!

What makes this townhome unique

We feel this is the most appealing of the Kohala Coast Resort environments. Mauna Lani resort is environmentally conscious and in addition has one of top rated Spas in the world.There are so many restaurants in the area to visit: our pick of the oceanfront ones 'Hale Kai' or Browns Beach House at the Fairmont Orchid, and LavaLava at the Waikoloa Beach Resort area.

We just rented this beautiful condo at #1804 for the fifth time and are very happy with the amenities, and also the free phoncalls back to Canada. As foodies, we are excited about the increasing number of great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, some directly in the sandy beach. We have children and this condo is perfect for that! Great for days at the pool or the beach with all the great beach toys available! We'll be back!

Home away from home!

Loved the unit and the location. We had absolutely everything we needed in the condo to make it feel like home. Loved the fact that both bedrooms were located upstairs which kept the main living area feeling very spacious. Your tips on things to do and places to shop were very helpful in saving us time in getting organized and our activities planned. We plan on coming back!!

Amazing place to stay

Everything about this place made our first trip to Hawaii easier to enjoy. You could tell that Elaine and Peter spent time and effort anticipating the needs and any questions visitors would have. We've used VRBO in many previous locations but this place was by far the best The resort was beautiful. We spent every morning on the lanai enjoying our breakfast, planning our excursions and listening to birdsong. The private beach was amazing and such a bonus. The condo was very well appointed and well stocked with everything you may need in terms of kitchen equipment , first aid , laundry and cleaning supplies. (We suggest going to Costco for groceries and gas, prices tend to be higher anywhere else. ). They even provided extensive island information. The location on the island was the best. (Take advantage of the guide book "Hawaii Revealed" found in the the bookcase!). Overall an amazing stay. Thanks Elaine. We hope to come back to your beautiful condo someday! Mahalo!

Perfect for us

Very comfortable and well appointed unit. Had everything we needed and clear directions and guidance on check in and out, use of pool and beach, and local surroundings. Easy transaction from start to finish. Development is quiet, beautiful, and well maintained with very nice pool and spa just a short walk out the lanai. Development is also situated just a short drive from great public beaches and other attractions. Hope to return and will try to stay at this development and in this unit if we do. Thanks for a great visit!

Relaxed Hawaii

The unit was located in a very convenient place and was well equipped. We had 3 adults stay there and it was fine. Would have liked a TV in the master bedroom but that is a minor point. Overall it was a very good unit. Great BBQ and close to the pool. The beach club was awesome.

Nothing missing here!!

From the location to the fine details, Elaine's place has it covered. Seriously, I love the little things...like Q-tips and make up remover pads, extra paper towels and TP (We stayed in a place in Waikaloa that we actually had to go buy toilet paper after our one roll ran out.) Not here...another little thing...have you ever opened the fridge of a vacation rental and it's completely empty...you KNOW the previous renters couldn't have possibly taken all of that food home...the little stuff like mayo and salad dressing. There was even a bottle of wine and 3 lovely cold beers. Soooo nice to have spices, some cooking spray, and even some coffee. (we were so impressed that we were sure to leave a full bag of fresh coffee for the next group) The boogie boards and snorkel gear, beach chairs and beach mats, beach umbrellas, and even bikes make it an easy trip to the beach with no worries about renting. We walked the grounds nightly (so homey and well kept) and the pool was clean and refreshing. Thank you Elaine for getting all the details right. We'll be back for sure!!

Can't Go Wrong

This unit at the Mauna Lani is very well equipped with plenty of space for your family or travel group to spread out. The kitchen is very user friendly and the home is stocked with all the essentials. We have stayed in many units in the Mauna Lani resort, and while most have been comfortable and well taken care of, this was one of the best (and economical) units we have rented. One of the rental highlights was Elaine. My father suffered a diving accident and our stay had to be extended. Elaine went out of her way to accommodate us (moving her cleaning crew at the last minute). We appreciate the kindness and hope to return soon.

The Fairways at Mauna Lani is a gated community of luxury town homes built in 2005, located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. About 20 min. north from the Kona (KOA) airport, you are nestled between the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Walk to Orchid Hotel for shoreline walks and gorgeous sunsets; drive or bike 5 minutes to the private, gentle bay 'the Beach Club', with its lounge chairs, and casual restaurant... wonderful Mai Tai and meals...we think it is a real gem!

Many shops and restaurants within the resort and a gourmet grocery store open until 11 pm. Explore nearby towns of Waimea, Hawi etc, or partake in horseback riding, ATV tours, ZipLine, fluming the Kohala Ditch in kayaks, hiking, bird watching, swimming, golf, snorkeling, tennis, scuba, whale watching and helicopter tours. If you have several days on-island, you'll want to drive the Hamakua Coast to Hilo and down to see the Volcano (active since 1984!)
