our townhouse villa has the warm feel of home, (the owners have called Big Island home for over 30 years!) and features local original artwork, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 couches and luscious leather recliner in the living room; dining room and patio seating for 6. Ca. King beds in the master and guest bedroom. Master has a huge walk-in shower and jetted tub. Spacious lanai off the master suite for enjoying your morning coffee, the singing birds, and view of the beautifully landscaped grounds and the peaks of Mauna Kea. Guest Bedroom has ensuite tub/shower. AND its own TV with same cable channels as downstairs. The Fairways has its own large pool, jacuzzi, workout room, and BBQ area.

When we moved to Hawaii in the early 80's we had a Tennis membership at the Mauna Lani and really enjoyed the tennis, beach, spa, and restaurants. The Beach Club was our son's playground in elementary school time, and now they continue to return here for vacations with our grandchildren!

What makes this townhome unique

We feel this is the most appealing of the Kohala Coast Resort environments. Mauna Lani resort is environmentally conscious and in addition has one of top rated Spas in the world.There are so many restaurants in the area to visit: our pick of the oceanfront ones 'Hale Kai' or Browns Beach House at the Fairmont Orchid, and LavaLava at the Waikoloa Beach Resort area.

We just rented this beautiful condo at #1804 for the fifth time and are very happy with the amenities, and also the free phoncalls back to Canada. As foodies, we are excited about the increasing number of great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, some directly in the sandy beach. We have children and this condo is perfect for that! Great for days at the pool or the beach with all the great beach toys available! We'll be back!

Cozy comfortable condo

We came to Hawaii with our daughter, son-in-law and 6 month old grandson for a retirement celebration and loved Elaine & Peter's condo! It was very comfortable with many unexpected conveniences including really tasteful artwork, very comfortable furniture and beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a drawer full of things you might have forgotten to bring (post it notes, tape, batteries, scissors, etc.) and a Pack-and-Go and high chair for our grandson. Access to a nearby private beach proved to be wonderful benefit as was the pool complex just steps from our patio door. This particular unit was nicely located as an interior unit with the lanai on the first floor looking out onto the lush interior landscaping of the Fairways. Parking was very easy and there was little to no noise to disturb us. As noted in other reviews, the guest bedroom received direct sun in the afternoon so was a bit warmer than the master suite but the fan in the room helped make it comfortable. Elaine was very responsive by email and text and made sure that everything we needed to know was well documented and conveyed, including a thorough binder waiting for us with details about the condo, local restaurants, shopping, etc. The unit was very reasonably priced compared to others in the same development. All of this translated into a wonderful and relaxing vacation where we could unwind and feel like we were at home in paradise! We would recommend this rental without hesitation and hope to come back again soon!

Beautiful property

Great little get-away to home away from home!

Staying at Elaine's well-appointed condo at the Fairways at Mauna Lani was a real pleasure. It was a barely a week get away for conference at the Fairmont a short walk away. The amenities were great- even better that bicycles and beach equipment were included with the rental. We got to explore quite a bit with this as home base. The beds and sofas were comfortable, allowing for a totally relaxing experience.

Check in was a breeze, with good instructions in the check in section of the Homeaway site. We got to cook several meals in and were pleased with the cooking hardware.

One thing of note- bring soap or body wash. Good shampoo and conditioner were there, but just hand soap was included. Easily take care of with the supermarket not far away.

Great stay- highly recommended!

Great property - very comfortable and stocked with everything you need for the beach

My family and I stayed over the Christmas Holiday (2015). 3 adults and 2 kids slept very comfortably in the condo and there was plenty of space for all of us. We enjoyed having the bedrooms upstairs and the living space downstairs. It really made the condo feel quite large being spread out across 2 floors. The condo is also stocked with everything you need for the beach. It was nice to have the beach towels, chairs, beach toys, cooler, available so we didn't need to bring our own. The owners were very responsive to questions and preemptive in repairing the ice maker and water line in the fridge which broke right before our arrival. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo!

Very comfortable, clean, and great location to enjoy all that the Big Island has to offer

My family and I had a wonderful visit to Mauna Lani and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this townhouse. We had our two children with us (1 yr and 8 yrs old) along with my parents and the townhouse was very comfortable for all of us. We particularly appreciated the location of the home to to the nearby beaches, one within walking distance at the Fairmont Orchid and the other a short five minute drive to the bach club. Both beaches are great for families as they do not have a high surf and are great for snorkeling. The owner graciously provided beach toys, snorkel gear, cooler, beach bikes, and other items that were very helpful to have for our beach time. The home is very well appointed and we appreciated that we could use the spices/oils/etc that were already there for our cooking. We would recommend this townhouse to anyone looking for a stress free and completely relaxing Hawaiian vacation.

The Fairways at Mauna Lani is a gated community of luxury town homes built in 2005, located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. About 20 min. north from the Kona (KOA) airport, you are nestled between the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Walk to Orchid Hotel for shoreline walks and gorgeous sunsets; drive or bike 5 minutes to the private, gentle bay 'the Beach Club', with its lounge chairs, and casual restaurant... wonderful Mai Tai and meals...we think it is a real gem!

Many shops and restaurants within the resort and a gourmet grocery store open until 11 pm. Explore nearby towns of Waimea, Hawi etc, or partake in horseback riding, ATV tours, ZipLine, fluming the Kohala Ditch in kayaks, hiking, bird watching, swimming, golf, snorkeling, tennis, scuba, whale watching and helicopter tours. If you have several days on-island, you'll want to drive the Hamakua Coast to Hilo and down to see the Volcano (active since 1984!)
