Why Lori Salisbury chose Bend

This is a rare gem. Close to Sunriver without all the hustle and bussle of the resort. Right on the river with the boat dock just steps away. There is almost one acre here. The house where the Tipi is located use to be a bed and breakfast and can also be rented. It has been made into four different unique spaces all with their own kitchens, bathrooms, decks and private entrances. You can find that listing at

The land has mature Ponderosa Pines that keep it cool in the summer. It is already a beautiful place, but just needed some love, care and an artistic eye. I have loved fixing this property up and adding some magic to it. I think you will find it very comfortable and relaxing to be here.

What makes this cabin unique

The unique benefits of this property are having the river and boat launch right here along with four bikes, canoe, and other river floating devices. It feels secluded and private, but it's only 3 miles from Sunriver Resort by car and a 5 minute bike ride to Sunrivers bike trails. It is 16 miles from Mt. Bachelor and 16 miles from Bend OR.

Lovely stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our tipi stay. The best part was floating on the river. Guests may want to bring their own floats for extra ease. The grill was not working and Sarahlee provided a hot plate, but there was no outlet to plug it in. Luckily we had our own camping grill to use, but this could be an issue for other guests. Overall we had a lovely time and enjoyed the peaceful river.

Owner's Response: Dear Laura, Thank you so much for your stay. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves, and I'm so sorry that the grill had stopped working. Future guess will be happy to know it has been replaced with a new one. I hope you come and stay with us again , Lori

cozy, peaceful, and has everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time in this little haven! Everything you need from cooking supplies, to firewood, to blankets and pillows was provided and it was exactly as described. The property is nested in between a couple cabins and at night you could hear faint chatter from the neighbors, but besides that it was nice and private. We would definitely return!

Lovely Personal Touches

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed my stay, and it was immediately evident that Lori, the owner, puts her heart and soul into the property. Great place. . .and I'm looking forward to renting one of the three other units at this fantastic riverside spread.

Wonderful Tipi Time

  • 4 of 5

My daughter and I very much enjoyed staying in the tipi. It's truly a great way to reconnect with Nature, because you're right out in it! This was what we wanted. The area the tipi is in on the property was very private, the composting toilet no trouble (or smell), and the whole property was very beautiful. There was an issue with the shower not working, which was the only problem, and that's probably been taken care of by now. The owner is very sweet and gracious, and has put artistic details into everything on the property. River access is right next to the property, and bring your own towels. I am fully in love with tipi camping now, but please remember that while this is a lovely clean tipi, it's still a form of camping, and Nature may come to visit in many forms, so go in with an open mind to that. It's an easy drive up to the Resort as well, if you are so inclined. I definitely would come back and have no hesitation to recommend it to people wanting a quiet place to just relax and sort their heads out.

Bring a flashlight and flip flops are helpful with the outdoor shower. This is comfy camping and we never know what the weather will be like, but in the summer in central Oregon it is usually sunny and warm in the 80's.
