For years I have worked in rental business on St. Maarten. I always enjoyed meeting people and assisting them to find their perfect rental property. But I was not very happy how most of the properties well maintained. For that reason I took over few properties on my own, like this penthouse, and turned it to what I believe is the perfect rental place.

Why Simona chose Simpson Bay
There are many beaches on the island however there are very few that are over a mile long and this white and beautiful. I like the fact that I can walk from one end to the next, take a dip, stop in one of the 3 bars/restaurants that are on the way to get a refreshment and continue to have fun without driving anywhere. I also like to play volleyball by one of the restaurants. I can take a ride on jet ski, or go kayaking, snorkeling or swimming. It offers many options. And if I do not want to do anything I can just sit and watch the boats on the water or how they pass through the bridge. It is a never boring view. That is what I like about this place and its location.
What makes this Apartment unique
Le Papillon is a new, gated community located on a beautiful 1.5 mile long and white Simpson Bay Beach, St. Maarten. This property is situated on the highest and widest part of the entire beach. The view over the blue and turquoise bay, with the islands of Saba and Sint Estatius on the horizon is absolutely perfect! This new, fully furnished penthouse consists of three floors, starting on the third floor. The view over the entire Simpson Bay Beach and the Bay is spectacular. It is designed as a very comfortable and luxurious 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Penthouse. The kitchen is high-end, spacious, with granite countertops and very well equipped. You will find here all that you will need including basic things like coffee maker, blender & toaster. From its topfloor you will have a 360 degree view over the lagoon, the marinas, the hill-sides, and of course the entire Simpson Bay. This terrace has a summer kitchen, dining area, long chairs and jacuzzi. THINGS TO DO IN SIMPSON BAY: - watersports (there 4 different specialized places) - dining (there are as many as 25 restaurants to choose from) - shopping (there are many small shops) - casino (there are a few) - nightlife (there are about 3 night clubs) - adult entertainment (there are 2 in the area) - carousel with an ice-cream shop - nice walks - watching mega yachts passing through tiny bridge - having a drink in one or the bars - grocery shopping (there are 2 big grocery stores) - gym (there are at least 3 good ones) - ATM machines and banks - going to spa (there are about 5 nice ones) - hairdresser ( there are 2 good ones) - health food store - medical clinic (if needed) - breakfast at French bakeries (we have amazing bakeries here) and I am sure you will come up with even more stuff

A dream house in St. Maarten
WOW. That is the first and lasting impression since the super kind property manager opened the door to unit #7 at Papillon residences. Very seldom I have seen such a well appointed home. Fantastic kitchen, beautiful floor plan, incredible view from the penthouse top-floor. The bedrooms are great and everything provided for you. We felt pampered all the way through. Highly recommend this property!
Shhhh, Don't tell....
Just returned home from a fantastic 10 night stay at the beautiful Le Papillion penthouse. Everything was perfect!
We arrived at the villa and we were greeted by Simona, our fabulous host and property manager. She gave us a tour of the property, showed us how to work all the windows, appliances, doors, locks, air conditioning system (separate settings for each room) and gave us a brief "lay of the land.
The property is located right on Simpson Bay and in my opinion, the nicest stretch of beach on Simpson Bay. Le Papillion rest inside a gated wall and includes private parking space. Le Papillion boasts a very modern contemporary design with lots of open space and tons of windows and sliding glass doors which really give the feeling of being "on the water". For convenience the property has a good size elevator that makes carrying groceries and or luggage up and down a breeze.
We were a family of 4 adults and two children (12 & 14). Each of us had our own spacious bedrooms (3 in total) each equipped with large private bathrooms with double sinks and large tiled showers. Each bathroom was fully stocked with toilet paper, organic shampoo, and towels. Lorraine, the housekeeper came to restock, clean and replenish every other day and she was a delight!
We spent several days just hanging out at and in front of our house because of the beauty and convenience of where we were. There were always plenty of beach lounge chairs, upright chairs, beach towels, noodles and tubes to float on and a convenient outdoor shower to hose off sand before heading back inside.
We did rent a car, but you don't need too. This was our second time visiting SXM in ten years, so we wanted and did quite a bit of exploring and driving around. We visited several beaches such as Maho, Mullet Bay, Orient, Friar's Bay, Gallon and Happy Bay (our favorite). We also spent half a day zip lining with our kids at Loterie farm and swimming in their fresh water pool. The kids loved it. We're not big shoppers, but we spent a little time in Philipsburg walking the strip and also spent half a day at WISP, the outdoor waterpark/ jungle gym...another great activity for the kids.
Eats...We had many great nights eating in at Le Papillion in their well equipped kitchen. Plenty of plates, bowels, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, blender, coffee...etc.
The property is very modern, clean and you can tell, well cared for!

Such a special experience...
We have been coming to St. Martin for the past 14 years and this time we brought the whole family with us. We rented both the penthouse and the 2 bedroom unit at the same time. These properties were everything that it says it is. Maybe even more. Both units were tastefully designed and very well equipped. There were pantry items, drinks, alcohol, organic lotions, real tea tree hand soap, bug spray, sun tanning spray, q-tips, hair dryers and the list goes on. I never rented a place that would be so well equipped as these two units. Other thing I really appreciated was how clean and new everything was. But my absolute favorite part was the terrace. It has a roof on top so even if it is too hot to be on the beach the terrace is nice and cool. We had our breakfasts and dinners there and it was pretty special. We also loved the location. We walked to the french bakery every morning for fresh pastry and for lunch to one of the beach restaurants. Simona was very kind and helped us with any question we had. It was really everything we could ask for. We would love to do that again!
Property Fine But Manager Disappointing
The property and location were beautiful and well kept. I was referred to a Agent who would help me charter a boat by the Property Manager. She advised that this person was very professional and reliable.
I was advised that the Boat Agent would meet me shortly after my arrival, which seemed rather odd at the time. She then called advised she was on the way and needed cash for a deposit. Again, we thought it odd but agreed to charter a boat for $1200. The referred Boat Agent did not show when agreed, then made four subsequent calls she was on the way. It was apparent to me she was becoming more and more impaired by each phone call to the property provided cell phone.
She finally showed up several hours later shocking us by knocking on the apartment door. Apparently she has the security code provided to her by the VRBO agent. I told her due to her condition and professionalism, I was no longer interested. She banged on the door once, left and returned to bang on the door again. I called the Property Agent to express my concern for our safety and security, asking why would this individual be given the property security code for both the main gate and main front door. No explanation was given.
No apologies or assurance were offered. We blocked the front door with furniture before being comfortable enough to go to sleep. Scary is best word, Disappointing as a previous VRBO customer is an understatement. My opinion is to choose wisely in St Martin. Over $4000 rent to be terrorized by Property Management sponsored referrals. Evidenced by the fact that the Boat Agent had full access to this property and security codes may indicate if your safety and belongings are actually valued by this property owner or manager.
A perfect beach place
Everything was as advertised, while a bit pricey, worth the money! Directly on Simpson Bay with amazing 360 views from the top deck(with a hot tub), 3 nice bedrooms, and an outdoor dining area and covered deck lounging area off of the main living area, which includes a living room, dining room, well-equipped kitchen, this property won't disappoint you. Just try not to reserve the week we'd like to return next year! You will need a rental car as the location is not in walking distance of most of the areas shopping, restaurants, etc.
Phenomenal Ocean Front. A definite return!
Our family and I spent 7 amazing nights in this phenomenal ocean front condo. The access to the ocean and stunning views are second to none. This condo lacks nothing! Exceeded all of our expectations in every way. Our family of 6 spent seven wonderful nights in this amazing condo. My husband and I will definitely return, just the two of us! Beautiful décor, impeccably clean and well maintained. The kitchen was impressively stocked with amenities and even an "open bar" based on an "honor system"...feel free to use, but were happy to replace upon our departure. Upon our arrival, it was nice that the fridge and pantry were stocked with several select goodies and, again, we were happy to leave do the same upon our departure. Although there are other tenants in the building, they are all very respectable. You would never know there was anyone else there but you! One of the most important aspects of our trip was the fantastic co-ordination of our trip by Simona. She was absolutely amazing...coordinating EVERYRTHING for us. She was very prompt in returning all of our inquiries and even accommodated a change in dates.

When staying both Christmas and New Year, 14 nights reservation is required.
