Kerin, We had a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your cozy cabin. MY wife and I had a very relaxing stay during our time there. The cabin was very clean and very nicely arranged. We will look forward to another stay down the road. Thanks again for the quick responses and needed info.
This was our first time to the area/skiing Beech Mtn. The house was a perfect 'middle' location...a quick 10 min drive up to Beech Mtn Resort, and an easy 10 min drive down into Banner Elk.
The house was super clean and cozy; the gas fireplace kept us toasty both downstairs and up in the bedrooms. Soaking in the hot tub after a day of skiing was a treat; plenty of privacy since the house is tucked back in a wooded area off the main road.
It snowed ~3 inches our last night, topping off a terrific vacation in the NC mountains. Too bad we couldn't stay and ski another day after a fresh snow.
And, being able to bring our dog was bonus!
Convenient to town & we were lucky to get a place that allowed dogs at the last minute. The negatives were:
The only bathroom was downstairs & since the bedrooms were upstairs, made going to the bathroom in the middle of the night more of a challenge.
The place was heated by an electric fireplace which made the downstairs comfortable but the upstairs was unbearably hot.
Something got into our packaged food we had on the counter.
Other than that, the place was clean.
The location is perfect! Close to downtown Banner Elk and yet tucked away. The cabin was clean and had good assortment of amenities.
My Fiance and I, along with our Golden Retrievers, stayed here with a few friends for a weekend getaway and had an absolute blast. The house is just as cute as it looks in the pictures and is in a great location. We went down into Banner Elk on the first day and ate at The Bayou, which is a great little dive bar with good food. The next morning we woke up and rented our gear from the ski shack, which is conveniently located right across the main road. We then drove up to Beech Mountain which is only about a 10 min drive for a day full of skiing. That night, we all got in the hot tub to help heal our sore bodies. I would definitely recommend this house to any group of 2 - 5 people looking for an beautiful, affordable rental property in a great location. Thanks for letting us stay at Tall Timbers, we will definitely be back!
We stayed at the cabin last weekend and made some incredible family memories. The cabin was cute, cozy, clean and just absolutely perfect! Kerin was an absolute pleasure to work with...you don't find many people as kind and accommodating as she. Oh..and there were deer outside every day!
We really enjoyed our time at Tall Timbers and look forward to returning! The hot tub was so wonderfully relaxing after a day of skiing or hiking. We were thrilled that Kerin allows dogs because we brought our pups and they had just as much fun as we did. The location is ideal; close to Beech and Sugar Mountains. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Just a word of advise for those who book this, bring the following items as they were either not provided or we ran out during our stay: bar soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent if you want to wash clothes, additional towels if you plan on using the hot tub and showering and a kitchen sponge. Thanks for having us!
