Have a vacation to remember at the Beech - our cozy cabin in the woods offers it all!

This beautiful stone and wood cabin built in 2005 is the perfect get away for couples or families who want to explore all that the High Country in North Carolina has to offer. Located about 2 miles from Ski Beech and 6 miles from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, there is always something for everyone, regardless of the time of year you choose to visit.

Take a 5 minute drive to the top of Beech Mountain and enjoy the spectacular views. Hit the slopes in the winter or visit Fred's Mercantile Store in the spring, summer and fall and pick up a Beech Mountain Trail map to explore the many hiking, disc golf, and biking trails on the mountain. Take a Yoga class at "5506, or enjoy live music at the Brewery. You can have it all.

It is easy to access all of the local outposts to join a day trip for rafting, rappelling, kayaking or river tubing in the summer. There are also other wonderful attractions all within driving distance such as Hawksnest Ziplining, Grandfather Mountain, Worley's Cave, Linville Caverns, Banner Elk Winery, blueberry fields, horseback riding, and many, many more! So much to do, so little time!!

When you get to the cabin, the first thing you will notice is the wonderful stone walls and hard wood flooring. The living room area is beautifully decorated in a cabin theme and the gas fireplace is the perfect accessory! The first floor also has a full bathroom, fully equiped kitchen and a laundry room with washer and dryer.

The second floor has 2 spacious bedrooms with large closets. The first bedroom has room for a crib, pack n play, or small pet crate. The second bedroom has a balcony with a 6 person hot tub to relax those muscles after a long day of hiking or skiing!

Just minutes from the historic town of Banner Elk, and 30 minutes from Boone, home of Appalachian State University, it is easy to enjoy the dining and shopping choices in the local areas. Blowing Rock is right down the road with all kinds of wonderful cultural activities as well. Get out and explore the High Country or stay in with all the comfy conveniences of home!

Kerin, We had a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your cozy cabin. MY wife and I had a very relaxing stay during our time there. The cabin was very clean and very nicely arranged. We will look forward to another stay down the road. Thanks again for the quick responses and needed info.

Beautiful House in a Great Area

  • 5 of 5

My Fiance and I, along with our Golden Retrievers, stayed here with a few friends for a weekend getaway and had an absolute blast. The house is just as cute as it looks in the pictures and is in a great location. We went down into Banner Elk on the first day and ate at The Bayou, which is a great little dive bar with good food. The next morning we woke up and rented our gear from the ski shack, which is conveniently located right across the main road. We then drove up to Beech Mountain which is only about a 10 min drive for a day full of skiing. That night, we all got in the hot tub to help heal our sore bodies. I would definitely recommend this house to any group of 2 - 5 people looking for an beautiful, affordable rental property in a great location. Thanks for letting us stay at Tall Timbers, we will definitely be back!

Great little getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Tall Timbers and look forward to returning! The hot tub was so wonderfully relaxing after a day of skiing or hiking. We were thrilled that Kerin allows dogs because we brought our pups and they had just as much fun as we did. The location is ideal; close to Beech and Sugar Mountains. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Just a word of advise for those who book this, bring the following items as they were either not provided or we ran out during our stay: bar soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent if you want to wash clothes, additional towels if you plan on using the hot tub and showering and a kitchen sponge. Thanks for having us!

Owner's Response: We are really glad you had a great time and enjoyed TallTimbers! We do initially provide a bar of soap in the bathroom, 1 dishwasher tab, toilet paper and a roll of paper towels for each stay but it is the responsibility of the renters to bring washing machine detergent and dryer sheets as those items are quite personal as far as taste. Any additional supplies are also generally the responsibility of the guests! We provide towels for the number of guests staying each booking but it wouldn't hurt to have a couple extra available so thanks for the suggestion. There should have been a sponge for the sink - I will definitely leave a note for the housekeeper. Hope to see you all in the future! Kerin and Sharon

The Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I can't even put into words how perfect this place is. As soon as we walked in the door, all I could think was that the pictures don't even do it justice. It was so cozy and clean and you could tell it has been well taken care of. Not only that, but the location is perfect (only minutes from beech mountain). And I fell in love with the town of banner elk, as well. Looking forward to another visiting again in the near future. Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful weekend in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time spending the weekend here! Banner Elk was such a cute little mountain town and we spent a great weekend hiking around the area. The cabin was very clean, cozy and warm and we were very comfortable there. We arrived in the dark and it took us a couple tries to find the driveway (it's the second driveway on the left now instead of the first due to what looks like some new construction), and the driveway slopes downward pretty sharply from the road, so in the dark there were quick prayers that we were actually headed down a driveway and not off a mountain! The beds were soft, the couch was comfortable, and there was plenty of space for four adults and a dog. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quiet getaway.
