Large Lakefront Home on Moosehead Lake with Spectacular Beach and Dock

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,300 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 8

Possibly the best location on Moosehead Lake. Tucked in a protected cove on a small point on the end of a dead end private road, this property with a large yard offers its own private beach as well as an association beach on the other side of the point with a playground, horseshoe pit, barbeque and picnic tables No matter what the wind direction or the time of day, you can find a sunny spot to enjoy the water out of the wind. Bring your boat or seaplane! This home has its own dock. (Note this is a floating dock intended for the docking of boats and not intended for more general use.) If you prefer, enjoy the tandem kayak complete with a third seat for a small child which is available for your use.

On the inside enjoy granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and 3 large bedrooms, in a tastefully decorated home with plenty of windows overlooking the lake 90 feet away where you are apt to see moose and deer enjoying a drink. Be sure to leave the windows open at night to hear the loons!

All this beauty and only 10 minutes from the shops and restaurants of Greenville

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for opening up your home last minute for our winter vacation. The snowmobiling and ice fishing were fantastic. It was especially nice to have a heated garage for the snowmobiles at night. The house was very clean and well taken care of. A previous review had indicated that the property was not well maintained. No sign of that from us. I would definitely recommend staying here. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

This house was a perfect fit for our family vacation. We were able to ATV right from the house, kayak, swim, fish and relax by the campfire. It was a great location on the lake; tucked in the cove where the breeze was nice but never overbearing when you wanted to kayak. The house was clean, cozy and very well-equipped. We are seasoned renters all over the east coast and this was one of our best experiences in communicating with the owner as far as questions with the house or directions. If we get up to Moosehead Lake again in the future, we would absolutely rent this house again.

Lack of effort

  • 2 of 5

We travel to Maine every summer and each year we try a different place, this was one of the worst places we've stayed at. I have never felt like the owner cared less. The dock was very unsafe and practically unusable and we bring canoes that we usually dock for easy in and out all week, this is why we book properties that have a dock. The back door handle was broken, my father in law got his tool box and tightened it himself more than once, the back step was detached from the deck making it impossible to get down the stairs safely especially with someone who has a bad hip. The mosquitoes were unbearable, like i stated before we go to maine every year at the same time and I've never seen them so bad(The 100% deet, tiki torches and mosquitoe nets we bring are typically enough) we were made aware by the people in town that they are always this bad, knowing that the least the owner could have done was provide a bug light or give their renters a heads up so they could bring their own. The home owner also doesn't respond to messages very timely, if at all. The lake was great and the little town was adorable, very friendly people in town.

My family stayed for 3 weeks. It was wonderful. The owners were very attentive to things we requested like like our pet beagle and a faster internet connection. The kids absolutely loved playing on the floating dock. The back yard feels like you're in the middle of the woods. Go on a very short hike through the woods and there is your very own, very private beach on the lake. The best part is that the private back yard beach is shielded from the strong winds we felt from the public beach on the other side. While I say public beach, we saw maybe 2 or 3 people a couple of times during our 3 weeks. Otherwise both beaches seemed to be our own private paradise.

Tons of hiking. Go hiking! Mountain #4 was our favorite for privacy. But it's hard to see much at the summit with all the trees. Obviously Kineo is the favorite for summits.

The lake: Can't say enough about the lake! We swam almost every day, took out the provided canoe several times, even our beagle swam in the lake and loved it. The kids spent hours digging in the sand and playing on the rocks both in and out of the water.

Greenville is only 10 minutes away. We had the best lobster and lobster rolls at Graves Seafood. And for date nights, my wife and I loved the Stress Free Moose Pub and drinking Allagash White and Black. Also check out Kelly's Landing. We did all our grocery shopping at Indian Hill Trading Post and it was great.

Yes, we had a fabulous time and hope to be back. Thanks so much!

Spacious, comfortable home, private and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We had a quiet, restful stay at this nice home. Everything was clean, pleasant and comfortable. An easy drive to Greenville for restaurants and supplies, as well as to Lily Bay State Park. Our visit was mid-fall and just the two of us, but I imagine this would be a fine place for a family to stay in summer, with lots of space and frontage on a quiet cove plus easy walking access to the community park and beach.

Beautiful home - serene location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week and we couldn't have been happier. The house is amazing and there is everything you could want or need. Just as a note, bring along your Apple TV, Fire Stick etc as there is a television and a DVD player but no cable. Make it a point to take a walk at Lily State Park and you will most likely see deer. We saw five. Take a drive to Lazy Tom Bog in Kokadjo at sunset. The view is spectacular. We didn't see moose but got some amazing pics. We also rented an ATV and took a 1/2 day ride to see the crash site of a B52 from 1963. Goosebumps!! Lunch or dinner at the Stress Free Moose Pub or at Kelly's Landing. Make sure you make time to go to the small shops in downtown Greenville. The Shop n Save is a perfect grocery store. Last but not least check out the sunset right across the street at the private beach. Very inspiring!!!

Owner's Response: Regarding the lack of cable tv...... We are pleased to say that our internet provider has just upgraded their hardware. As a result, we are now able to provide internet tv including an assortment of cable channels.
