Modest but adequate, clean

  • 4 of 5

I had trouble finding the location due to the fact that the numbers on the mailboxes weren't in order. Once I found the cabin it was the perfect location for a weekend fishing trip. The cabin was clean and comfortable. All the amenities were in working order. I didn't get a chance to use the hot tub, as I was fishing all day and into the evening. Enjoyed relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. Would definitely return for another fishing trip.

This really a getaway from it all

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful view. Kinda old but still great hot tub, just make sure you turn it up to your required temp at least 30 minutes before you want to use it. Comfy bed, I slept very well. No cell phone reception (for AT&T) which for me was a total PLUS PLUS but free wifi :). Oh and it has directTV with more than local stations which was good for some relaxing late night binge watching. And say hi to the local swan...I wanted to give him a bath ;) Wish I could've stayed longer.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay, especially the hot tub! Our team keeps our hot tubs, clean and ready to enjoy. Yes! You can adjust the temperature to you liking, too. Cell reception isn't very good, texting works best. This place also has a land line anyone can forward their cell phone so that no calls are missed. Come on and book your dates here! Enjoy that much deserved getaway that won't break the piggy bank.

Outdated and bad location

  • 2 of 5

First off, the "cabin" we stayed in (bass bungalow) was not a cabin but just a double wide with some cheesy wood siding. Everything was old and in serious need of a major update. The heater was obnoxiously loud and the hot tub was cold and dirty which was a major disappointment. The "cabin" is WAY out in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive at least 45 minutes to get to anything. The price is decent and would be good for someone who plans on being on the lake most of the time. But not what my wife and I expected for our anniversary vacation. Definitely won't be back.

Owner's Response: Yes, this property is advertised on the website as a Lake Front mobile home with log siding. It's just steps from the water and is all the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) allows that close to the water. When the lake floods you have to be able to move it. Yes, Boone is about a 30 min drive but most guests realize that by locating using maps here on this site as well as google. Sorry that it wasn't a better time for you folks. Know we offer lots of properties in that area. We have luxury log homes too. Just let us know what you're looking for and we'll be happy to try and help you find the perfect place to stay.

New Tradition!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to get away for the weekend and ran across Bass Bungalow. Neither of us had ever been to Lake Watauga. I will never ever forget this weekend. It's off season, hardly anyone around which is exactly what I was hoping for. Rest and Relaxation. We took the canoe out to fish, it was beautiful! Words cannot describe the view at dusk with the moon rising over the mountain. No cell service, thank God!! Wifi worked great though. Wish I could have stayed another week...
