The house is in a great location for a family. It is in North Ocean Ocean City away from the crowds. It has everything you need. 2 1/2 bath, for bedrooms, outside shower, hose on the deck to wash toys and your feet off. It is right on the beach and the deck is great. It also has a washer and dryer which helps. My only complaint is the house is in serious need of a entire cleaning. I feel like the cleaning that is done is they just come in and sweep the floors and that is it. There is serious dust on the lights and fans and underneath the furniture. The drawers in the kitchen are dirty and we made sure to run a load of dishes to use when we got there. Overall I was happy with the house because of the location and set up. The only thing that could of made the house nicer would be a larger living space, but you'll spend most of your time outside if the weather allows.
We rented the property for a family vacation and being right on the oceanfront was fantastic!
The property had good flexibility of rooms and beds that met for our sleeping arrangement needs of two couples and scattered singles and kids (9 total).
The property was pretty basic and no frills. I've stayed in some rental homes which were very refined with a bathroom for each bedroom and huge living area kitchen/dining/living room setup, but the trade off is that they weren't RIGHT ON THE OCEAN.
For the price I Thought the property was worth it.
If you are about location and being on the ocean, this is a great place!
It is higher up on the Ocean City strip so it's not within walking distance of the boardwalk, you need to drive there.
If your priority is refined living arrangements and privacy you'd be more inclined to find a house or an upscale rental unit. But getting both location and refined accommodations will cost you.
Bottom line is I would rent again.
While this is generally a decent house and it could be as nice as the pictures make it out to be, it currently suffers from lack of regular maintenance and also was not properly prepared for the first renters of the season.
We were the first people to rent this property in 2016 so the house did sit over the winter. And while it was basically 'clean' when we got there, nobody had really checked it over to take care of winter issues. -The outside shower was full of sand, toys and other things.
-The back porch had buckets full of water and random items lying around.
-There were several lights in the house that needed new bulbs.
-The cable and internet had not been turned back on. (This last one was corrected within 24 hours of checking in, but did require a few phone call and a visit to the rental office.)
All this above does not address the general maintenance issues that exist throughout the house. I will try to list as many as I can remember:
-front of the dishwasher is falling off
-several shelves in the fridge are broken and not usable
-the cabinet under the sink, the wall at the back of the cabinet cut open where repairs where made but not closed back up
-the carpet on the stairs has a large stain (despite the carpet looking fairly new)
-every bathroom toilet paper roll holder is not working
-light switch to fan in one bedroom has not knob and does not adjust, it is either on high or off
-the kitchen blinds would not roll up
I know these all sound minor but they go together to make the house feel neglected.
One of the bathrooms has been remodeled and this was a nice surprise.
Vantage Resort Realty Rental Company: For the most part I found the company who manages this property OK to deal with. Every person I spoke with was very nice and helpful. However they have call system that makes it very hard to reach a person, so unless you have a direct line you end up in a phone maze and eventually a voice mail box.
