The pool is just steps away from the living room sectional or the outdoor dining area. You?ll never want to leave this peaceful oasis, and yet you'll be just two blocks from Duval Street, with all its attractions, like the Green Parrot and Willie T's to enjoy some live music, Mallory Square for entertainment and a sunset stroll. Best of all, you?ll be less than a half mile from the Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach for a day of snorkeling and sun.

THE POOL & PATIO...
The pool is large enough for everyone in your group, with plenty of room to swim around with both sun and shade throughout the day.
The pool area includes comfortable chaise lounges to relax in your own oasis all day. A large propane BBQ grill sits in the back yard as well. There is a full outdoor dining set right by the pool for a great island meal after a day of sun.
THE COMMON AREAS...
The open living plan, with those big French Doors is perfect for entertaining. The living area has a plush sectional sofa. There are additional comfortable chairs in front of a large flat screen HDTV with full cable and DVD player. There's the fully equipped chef's kitchen, a beautifully designed space with gourmet appliances created for those who LIVE in the kitchen (when you're not dining at one of the amazing nearby restaurants). You'll find lots of hidden treasures in this kitchen: from the extra bar seating for three, to the 42' counter-depth refrigerator/freezer. Off the kitchen is a lovely dining area that overlooks the open living area.
The master bedroom is on the second floor, with a grand King-sized bed, flat screen TV, walk-in closet, plenty of dresser space, and private balcony overlooking the pool area. The master bathroom is en-suite, with dual sinks and an oversized shower. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, a private balcony and a full bathroom in the hall. The third bedroom is on the first floor, with two Twin sized beds that convert to 1 King upon request. The third full bathroom on the first floor has a shower.

Bahamian Bamboo was a fantastic place for our son's wedding week. We had 7 adults and 2 babies, and had more than enough room. The backyard pool made for great fun morning , afternoon, and evening. The neighborhood was so private, and gave us time away from the crowds during the day, but only 5 minutes from Duval St. When we wanted to take advantage of it. Shel of Lastkeyrealty made our stay perfect. He was there to answer all questions, make recommendations, and even stop by when we had a TV Cable problem. Shel knows the town and made us all feel welcome. I will be back to Bahamian Bamboo in Truman Annex.
Over the last 15 years I have rented a home in Key West every year and sometimes twice a year so I know a nice rental and this was the best one bar none. First of all the service provided by Shel at Lastkey Realty was what took the stay over the top. They pay detail attention about any and all issues that might and do arise with any stay in Key West. Help with anything was just a phone call away. The compound itself has a large, by Key West standards, pool with beautiful tropical foliage and covered patio areas both good from escaping the sun and the rain. The bamboo theme throughout was welcoming and the furniture was beautiful. This will be the next rental for 2017 without a doubt.
We have enjoyed our time here greatly. The neighborhood is quiet as befits a gated community. You don't have to walk far to be in the heart of Key West, be it the beautiful homes and neighborhoods of Old Town, the funkiness of Bahama Village, or the nearly non-stop party of Upper Duval.
Walking a bit further takes you to Southernmost Point. A few extra blocks east will take you to the Eaton St Seafood Market, one of my favorites. Stone crab season is only a few weeks away! A few hundred yards east of Southernmost is Louie's Backyard, another favorite. Keep going and enjoy a drink or two by the pool at Casa Marina.
Back to the house - I'd call it two and a half bedrooms, but the downstairs is fine for the kids. The Master suite is very nice upstairs. The neighbor is nosy and seems to enjoy working on the roof of his carport.
The management company, Last Key Realty, has been a pleasure to work with. Shel is the best!
It was better than we expected! The rooms are spacious and the house well appointed, especially the kitchen. The pool was quaint, but our party of 6 enjoyed. Shel, the property manager, met us at arrival and departure. We are seasoned Key West travelers with over 25 trips under our belt and this was the best! The dryer broke during our stay and Shel had our laundry picked up and and taken care of and delivered in less than a couple of hours. We had the kitchen stocked before arrival and that was wonderful. I did yoga on the covered patio. We watched the Olympics on the big flat screen and made frozen drinks and sat on the 4 balconies/patios. We will stay again!
The house was wonderful and even better than described. It was clean, well maintained, updated and had everything we needed down to spices. All we needed was our own personal belongings!! The layout worked well for my family having 1 bedroom on the first floor. Having the pool was the BEST, even if we had been to the beach that day! Just to be able to come home, be in the shade and relax in the pool!! The pool and yard were very well maintained, too. We had one minor concern about the tile around the pool (which would not deter us from returning again). Once the tiles got wet, it was very slippery for both kids and adults.
Shel was great!! He met us at the house when we arrived, checked in mid week and came to say good bye the day we left. His recommendations of places to eat were wonderful, and we also found a few very good ones that were not on the list. A few we went to were Garbo's Grill that sits in the back of Grunts, The Creperie (not quite sure of the name), Eaton St fish market, and a few along the wharf. We did not have a bad meal or drink the whole time.
We took a sunset dinner cruise. The food and drink were very good and lots of fun. We also went deep sea fishing with Capt. Gene on The High Class Hooker. We had gone fishing with him the last time we were in KW. Although I stayed behind to babysit my granddaughter, my family raved about the boat and experience. They caught a mahi-mahi (a keeper), a 5 ft sailfish (not a keeper), a nurse shark (not a keeper either), and a few other fish.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone. Shel made it so easy for us to enjoy ourselves and I would rent this house again!
Great house but needs minor updates. Overall experience was fun and terrific. Shel was our coordinate and he was outstanding. He gave us super advice on restaurants and activities. He is such a gentleman! Snorkeling in the area with Floridays crew was the best. Can't go wrong at the Bahamian Bamboo.
