'Escape' is a self service 2 bedroom, one bathroom, partly air conditioned lower level Apartment located in a residential dwelling house in a middle income neighborhood in the parish of Christ Church on the south coast of the Caribbean Island of Barbados. Located approximately 1.5 miles from the famous Oistins town and it's legendary Friday night party and fish-fry, 'Escape' is your vacation home away from home.

I was attracted to this area because of its peace and quiet and central location. The apartment is near enough to night life and activities to quickly be at the heart of the action, but far enough away to provide a quiet retreat when you have had enough. One of the island's most popular beaches, Miami Beach is 5 minute's drive away. Oistins and St Lawrence Gap both very popular night life spots are within 10 minutes drive.

I stayed there for 5 days , location was ok but very safe .Andew such a great guy and Easy to talk to. He took us to the supermarket which was fun. Only thing is bathroom needs to be updated. Andrew also gave us a phone to Namur local calls whic was great. But definitely I will stay there again. Thanks Andrew enjoyed my stay hope to see you soon again. Deborah
Absolutely horrible. Owner violated our rights and evicted us from the rental. I had to call police
Owner entered the apartment without notice. Unplugged ac. Accessed rental vehicle after we paid for it. Came into apt and refused to leave. I had to call police as he call me disrespectful names. Apartment was filthy. We were evicted after full payment was made with just a short 9 hours to find other accommodations. He was very disrespectful and insulting to me including physically assaulting me when I tried to relock the door while waiting for the authorities to arrive. I have pictures of the filth we had to clean up. I have pictures of the cracked walls not shown in apartment overview and wall lice and mold/mildew in shower but was unable to attach to this review.

This experience was easily the worst I ever had as a host. For this guest, the truth just appears to be a minor inconvenience. She broke virtually every house rule with impunity and was rude with it. Do you know the guest that comes to stay at your property and believes that for the comparatively modest nightly rate they pay, they have the right to abuse the property and it’s facilities? Well, this is that guest on steroids!
1. On check-in she claimed that the apartment was dusty and affecting her allergies, yet she refused my offer of a full refund and declined my suggestion that she find alternative accommodation. I waived the cleaning fee and she seemed happy with this.
2. She smoked in both the apartment and the car leaving me with the cost of getting the smell out (the apartment is advertised as a no smoking apartment).
3. She deliberately left lights and air conditioners on all day and night in violation of written and verbally communicated house rules.
4. She disputed and refused to pay the full second installment of the rental fee. The Homeaway representative had to be called to mediate yet she still wouldn’t pay. She believes that Homeaway’s service should be free to guests and that hosts should pay all of the fees changed by Homeaway. So the fees which Homeaway charged her as guest when she booked, she sought to deduct from the final installment she owed me!
5. She used the car and refused to return it as agreed. I had to report the vehicle to the police as stolen. Eventually she abandoned it miles from the apartment.
6. She sought to physically exclude me from my own apartment when I tried to draw her various infractions of the house rules to her attention.
7. She became very loud, abusive and boisterous.
8. Eventually, the local police (which she called), had to ask this guest to leave the property one day early (appropriate refund given).
Needless to say, I would NEVER rent to this guest again. As a Lawyer and a home owner, I advise extreme caution when dealing with this guest.
Clean, Cozy and Comfortable!
Andrew has thought of everything that vacationers would like to have in their home away from home! Air conditioning in the major living areas as well as the bedroom make the unit comfortable to be in at any time of the day. Washer and electric dryer means less clothes to pack! Well supplied kitchen and lots of towels to use. Large clean bedrooms with lots of storage. Electric gated parking area for extra security. Andrew is very kind, helpful and just a phone call away...he really does want you to have a wonderful stay while you are in Barbados. Will recommend this unit to anyone and we will definitely be back again.
Best Stay Ever!!
I must say, my booking was a nightmare. I was a little worried about booking a homeaway out of the country by myself. I swear I gave Andrew a headache with all the changes with my stay due to my flight being canceled because of a snowstorm. Once it was sorted, I had a blast and wouldn't change a thing.
Firstly, the instructions were very clear as to how to access the lovely home. Upon arrival I received a warm welcome by the owner, Andrew. The house was in impeccable condition in a nice, quiet and safe neighborhood. It was a very clean and well maintained home with every amenity for comfort. The location was accurate according to the listing description. It was also within a 5 minutes walk to transit. It is located near Oistins and other great places.
Andrew was awesome, very pleasant, great personality and very responsive. He is willing to help if you need anything. Andrew drove me to the local supermarket to pick up things needed for my stay which was great. He also checked in on me occasionally to ensure everything was okay. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Definitely Would come Back
I was a little worried about booking a homeaway out of the country by myself. I had a blast though, wouldn't change a thing. It's not far from Oistins... well anything really. I took public transport [which runs when it pleases but you'll see various buses if you go to the main road]. I even walked to Oistens one day. The place itself has everything you would need for a nice stay. Clean and spacious. 2 bedrooms. AC gets really cold quickly lol. Andrew was awesome. Very pleasant, great personality and very responsive. He is willing to help if you need anything.
Tip: Taxis get a lil lost in Christ Church when coming in late so tell them take you to KGs. It's at the bottom of the hill from Andrew's and EVERYONE knows KGs Market 😊

First of all, your instructions were very clear as to how to access your lovely home. Cheri-Lyn and I appreciate that. It was extremely clean and well organized. Everything we needed was there for our use. Providing us with a cell phone was a very pleasant and useful surprise.
