Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

Brand new construction! Be one of the first to rent this beautiful Mullett Lake home. We are located on a 3 acre parcel with private Mullett Lake frontage on Scotts Bay. The evenings bring beautiful sunsets. Roast s'mores at the campfire on the shoreline. The lake has a sandy bottom for swimming. Fish off the dock or children can catch frogs and minnows from the small creek that winds through the property and flows into the lake.

2nd annual summer family vacation and many more

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd year on this property and we will be making this our annual summer vacation spot for many years to come. The property is beyond beautiful, and exceptionally well maintained. Jeff who is the property manager is very delightful to work with and went above and beyond what most property managers would do. I had a recent cervical spine surgery and had asked if the property had any lay out lounge chairs, as I didn't recall any from the year prior, he told me he would look into this for me and if they didn't he would put a request into the owner. Jeff called a few days later and said he went out and purchased 2 new lay out lounge chairs, the coolest thing is he didn't even know that I had surgery had how much this meant to me, as I/we would be doing a little more lounging this vacation. The property is so close to so many Up North destinations. It's a short little less than 30 minute drive to the Mackinaw bridge, you can go the Mackinaw Island for the day (it's hard not to do being so close) and you also spent a day exploring the beauties of the UP. Not to mention the beautiful lake and all the lake has to offer, you can go for days and not cover the same place twice. After being up there 2 years in a row and talking to some locals, they all seem to say how nice Scott's bay is and tends to be the calmest spot on the lake. And finally there is nothing better than the sunsets and a campfire after a fun filled day on your private lake frontage.

Our family enjoyed the stay a great deal.

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the good fortune of finding this beautiful lake home for our "north woods" annual vacation. Having made this trek north every year for sixty years with the exception of years overseas in the US Army, this was perhaps one of the best locations and property we have rented. The house was new, clean and very well maintained. Property Manager Jeff LaBerge provided us with all of the information that we needed in a prompt and kind manner, he called to ensure that everything we had anything that we needed for a great vacation week. We hope to return to this great lake house next year.

Great manager and beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

The other reviews really tell the story of the property. The home was very clean on arrival. The kitchen was well supplied and the beds were comfortable. We lost power for two days due to a tree that fell across the power lines to the cottage. Jeff LaBarge (manager) did everything he could to get the power restored, but with 8000+ folks without power it was two days before they got to us. Jeff called the power company several times a day and when it seemed we would be out for awhile, he bought a lantern, several big flashlights, water and ice.

Pro: Great manager.

Cautions: The internet is very slow, almost to the point of being useless unless you used a text only mode. The TV works well as it is on a different satellite dish. Cell coverage for Verizon was fine although Sprint did not work for me.

Suggestions: Rent or bring a boat to enjoy the adjoining lakes and rivers. We saw river otters on Indian River. Easy drive to the west to see Lake Michigan and a short drive to Cheboygan to see Lake Huron. Lots of parks to enjoy.

Fantastic property on Mullett Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this house. It was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of cookware and dishes. The refrigerator was a nice size (and there was also a small fridge in the laundry room that we used for drinks). The bedrooms were all well sized with great storage and lots of closet space. The master bedroom was very nice, has a king-size bed and a large attached bathroom with walk-in closet. The living room was very spacious and we never felt crowded anywhere in the house.

The lake is nice and shallow at the end of the dock and the bottom is nice and solid to walk around on. We had a pontoon boat for the week and the mooring buoy worked great as well. The water is only about waist-deep at the buoy, which made for a nice and easy retrieval.

All of the small 'issues' you may see in other reviews have all since been taken care of. The front windows in the screened-in porch have all been extended down (not yet reflected in the images for the listing as of this writing) and you have a beautiful view of the lake while relaxing in one of the many comfortable chairs available. Also, a new in-ground fire pit has been installed and was very nice. They include a removable grate that you can place over it for cooking over the fire. We used it to cook burgers and dogs for lunch while sitting out in the yard. If you make a short 3-5 minute drive in either direction from the house you'll find plenty of firewood available for sale on the road and can get a good amount for $5-$15 per bundle/stack. We made one trip and spent $20 and had more than enough wood to last the entire week (we had a fire all 7 nights and another for lunch one day). Did I mention we loved the fire pit?

This is our 6th time working with Jeff (the property manager) over the last 5 years. He is very proactive in making sure you have everything you need prior to arrival. He checked in with us on our day of arrival to make sure everything was in order at the house and he also checked in on the day before departure to ensure we had a good stay.

We will absolutely be staying again.
