I've been there for more than 20 days. Everything was perfect. The apartment is as described and as it appears in the photos.

Jennifer was very kind. It was not there but made sure everything was ok for our arrival.

Loved it!

This 2 master BR condo was wonderful! Great location....just the perfect size for us (two couples). The kitchen was well stocked and the place was one of the cleanest vacation rentals I've ever stayed in! Jennifer and Trudie were both very nice and easy to deal with. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this beautiful condo. We were so close to everything. We like to walk, and walked down to the beach many times. It is about a 20 minute walk to the beach, and 20 minute walk to the Las Olas restaurants and shops.

The condo itself is spotless clean. It has two master suites, a large living room and a cute galley kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could want. The bathrooms had plenty of towels for all. We had a lovely view of the pool and canal from our living room. The condo complex itself is very cute and quiet.

Jennifer and Trudie are wonderful hosts and keep you well informed on all aspects of your trip, and are quick to answer any questions. We arrived quite late on our first night, and poor Trudie still helped us get into our condo on that night. We are very grateful to her and apologize for bothering her so late. Thank you Jennifer and Trudie for a wonderful time.

Quiet retreat

  • 4 of 5

When you want lodging off the beaten path, Caravelle is the perfect spot. It was clean, roomy and offered a view of the waterway. Although the property is an older one, it appeared newly remodeled with clean bathrooms and bright kitchen. The bedrooms each had different kinds of mattresses - one firm and one definitely more squishy. My sister-in-law found it too squishy.

We were able to walk to restaurants - just know the roads are currently under construction. The beaches are a just a slightly farther walk away which is something you might consider if you don't want to pay $10 for parking at the beach.

Running almost parallel to Fort Lauderdale’s New River on its way to the Atlantic Ocean, Las Olas is a broad avenue divided by a wide landscaped median of flowers and towering shade trees. Over the canal at the east end of the tree lined median, in the Colee Hammock neighborhood, are more shops, restaurants, and unique and popular shops!

The neighborhood features delightful parks, shaded seating areas and some fabulous events such as the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival, Christmas on Las Olas and the Las Olas Art Festivals. During certain months, free outdoor movies. Visitors can easily stroll just a few steps from the boulevard and you'll find an art house cinema, a center for the performing arts and a science museum. The Las Olas location is within walking distance of the beach, where Las Olas Boulevard meets the ocean.

Fort Lauderdale boasts more than seven miles of sparkling beaches that offer residents and visitors premier opportunities for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment. The City’s award-winning wavewall and signature beachfront promenade highlight Fort Lauderdale’s world famous coastline, which is punctuated by an array of shops, restaurants, sidewalk cafes and entertainment venues. Beachgoers can participate in a wide range of activities from boating, wind surfing, jet skiing and volleyball to snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing and rollerblading. Or, if relaxation is what you desire, simply sit back, unwind and enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Fort Lauderdale Ocean Rescue supervises the two miles of continuous public beach from the South Beach Picnic Area up to and including the beach in front of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. In the guarded areas of the beach, there are 15 year-round, permanently staffed lifeguard towers spaced between 200 and 400 yards apart. There are also as many as 10 temporary-auxiliary stands that are used during the peak season, special events and holidays.

Fort Lauderdale is just south of Palm Beach and 30 miles north of Miami (also airport options).

For magnificent subtropical wilderness and lots of it, take time out to explore the Florida Everglades. The 100-mile, 60-mile-wide (160 by 96 km) “river of grass” is protected by the third-largest national park in the US, and a huge restoration program is currently under way to restore the unique habitat with its incredibly varied biodiversity.

The source of the Everglades wetlands is the Kissimmee River near Orlando, whose overflow creeps across the land to reach Florida Bay. Sawgrass marshlands are a particular feature of the Everglades, along with cypress swamps, estuarine mangrove and tropical hardwood forests.

This lovely natural area is a haven for kayaking, canoeing, boating and hiking, but there are some must-dos to bone up on before you visit: bring plenty of insect repellent, don’t provoke the alligators, and wear long thick socks and lace-up boots if you’re hiking.

There are plenty of different ways to experience the Everglades. If you’re game, you can join a ranger on a slosh through the swamps, go on safari with a trained naturalist, paddle a kayak on an eco-adventure, or get a bird’s-eye view of this huge area on an Everglades sightseeing flight.
