This was an enchanting find! A bright and sunny, loft-like cottage on a quiet lane in Woodstock. Very pretty, neat, and spotlessly clean, it's a peaceful and private place that looks out over grassy fields and sunsets. I was there for a week to work on some drawings and it was a perfect place to concentrate. I loved sitting outside on the steps in the wee hours, looking at constellations and shooting stars (really!) and just listening to the quiet summer night. There are two brilliantly conceived very large skylights and my favorite thing was watching the stars through the skylight that's directly over the bed! The bed is huge, comfortable, and very luxurious. The slope of the ceilings might be challenging to some but it's beautifully designed and easy to live in and really, every need has been anticipated. You need nothing but your toothbrush and if you forget it, there's a pharmacy a block away.
Chelsea is the best. She makes everything happen -easily, graciously, and professionally.
The Nest is extremely cosy. Tucked away on a side street in Woodstock, it is easy to leave the car parked and explore the entire town. The garden is delightful and the swimming pool was an unexpected bonus, on what happened to be an extremely hot and humid week in July.
The furnishings are quite nice and everything was functional. The only "con" was the bed was rather hard and storage space for clothing was rather limited because the drawers were filled with games (not necessarily a bad thing).
We really appreciated the responsiveness of the property manager and thank Chelsea for suggesting the Nest.
The nest was the perfect place to stay on our recent Woodstock trip. It was so cozy and had everything we could possibly need! A small space, but it never felt small or cramped at all, and it was extremely clean and well kept. The town is just magical and the hiking around the surrounding area was beautiful. It was the summer getaway we were looking for, so happy to have found the nest, and we will certainly return and stay again!!
I loved staying at The Nest! It was so cozy and warm, a real escape from everything. It's close enough to walk to most places in the town yet completely quiet through the day and night. The skylights make it a bright and sunny room. Everything was clean, well maintained and exactly as described. Chelsea and Patricia were great and extremely helpful and informative. I'm really looking forward to coming back and staying here again.
I stayed in The Nest for a long weekend in January. I usually stay at the Inn on the Millstream but as the prices were very comparable I thought I would stay at the Nest. I was very happy with the decision. The studio was tidy, clean and well stocked (though I couldn't find a hair dryer). The room was nicely decorated and offered a small kitchenette (full stove, very small low-powered fridge with tiny freezer compartment, sink, pots/pans etc). The is also an L-Shaped sofa, TV with cable. It is on a quiet dead-end street, in town near the library.
Things to watch out for. Steep steps to the studio so not suitable for all ages, full bed (not queen), attic ceilings. I was expecting the sloped ceilings to be more of a problem (I am 6ft tall), but it was fine. As per previous reviewers the shower is impacted by the ceiling but you figure it out pretty quickly.
Very happy with the Nest, it offers significantly more than the hotels/B&Bs in the neighborhood for the same money.
As described, the Nest is ideally situated in downtown Woodstock so there is no need to find alternative parking and we enjoyed walking to the local restaurants and shops. The studio was extremely clean and well furnished with everything you could want (cooking utensils, etc.). Definitely amply spacious for two people and also had a sense of coziness as well that was great for the cool weather! Books and information on Woodstock and the surrounding area were provided and were helpful. The rental process was extremely professional and went very smoothly. We wish we could have stayed longer!
