Great lay out, lovely ocean views, comfortable beds and well kept beach house.

Only negative is that kitchen was not well equipped for cooking meals for 12 people. Needed bigger pots, oven dishes and more drinking glasses.

Some problems with electrics but Kees were very responsive when called and had an electrician there that day.

Lovely home, poorly maintained

  • 1 of 5

My family of 6 adults and 2 children were very excited to rent this property. Unfortunately, the house was very poorly maintained.

Upon arriving we immediately noticed the floor in the kitchen was warped; the wood was raised nearly three inches off the ground causing everyone in my family to trip over the warped flooring numerous times. We also discovered trash underneath the beds, and the smell of urine in one of the bedrooms on the 3rd floor. We also realized that the lights in one of the rooms on the 2nd floor did not work. Eventually the lights in the room turned on, but were on-and-off throughout our stay.

On day two of our visit one of my family members injured themselves on a popped nail located on the stairway between the 2nd and 3rd floors. Upon further inspection we discovered three additional popped nails on the stairways and were forced to wear shoes indoors. We also discovered that the screen door on the deck of the 4th floor was very difficult to open, and would often get stuck on its rails. The poorly maintained screen door made it difficult to enjoy the stunning views as advertised. During breakfast we discovered that the microwave and ceiling fan could not be used simultaneously; when both were in operation we lost power on the 4th floor. However, even the operation of the microwave independently proved to be problematic-- the frame around the microwave fell off when we opened the microwave door.

Also on day two we ventured outside to enjoy a barbecue by the pool. Sadly, the pool was littered with sand and the grill was filthy. Thankfully, the pool was cleaned on Tuesday (4 days after our arrival).

Throughout the rest of our stay we noticed that the hardware on the doors to the decks were loose and the locks were very difficult to open and close. Eventually, things got to the point that we were forced to call maintenance. We were pleased when maintenance arrived within a few hours. Unfortunately, maintenance was only able to address the popped nails and advised us to "avoid the warped floor in the kitchen."

As the owner of multiple rental properties my family understands the effort and cost that goes into the effective management and maintenance of rental units. While this is a lovely property with spacious rooms, many bathrooms, and beautiful decor, the property is just poorly maintained. Considering that that 6 days cost nearly $8k, my family was expecting a much better experience.

Framily Beach Trip

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends wanted to start a tradition of visiting the beach. Of the 4 couples 2 had kids and 2 did not. Are hopes are that we will do this annually with all family as our families continue to grow. The house was really AMAZING!!! There was a ton of space, it accommodated 8 adults and 3 kids with breeze. The pool and hot tub were really nice and the outside speakers. The house is literally across the street from the beech and right at a pier. The kids had so much fun as well. We had 2 family dinner nights and the table and kitchen allowed us to prepare and serve everyone at once. Our hopes are to return to this same house each year.
