Hi! I'm Lori and I am a full time artist along with sharing my beautiful home here on the Deshutes River.
Lori Salisbury purchased this apartment in 2011
I fell in love with this place the moment I came in the gate. I saw the potential of what it could be. It was a place that needed to be shared. There is so much beauty here on the banks of the river and so much wildlife. It's a very special place.
It is close to everything, yet far enough away that you feel like you have a little piece of heaven. Private and quiet. Close to the mountains and the national forest. Lots of sunshine as well as mature Ponderosa Tree's. Great bike trails and hiking right out the back door. Just steps away to put one of our canoes, kayaks or rafts onto the water.
Our family stayed at River Song Sanctuary for 4 nights recently and we had a great time. We had never visited the area before there was so much to do and see . The home was on a river we rented the upstairs and had a view of the river . It was quite and peaceful and so close to Sunriver Resort . Lori's art work decorated the walls and brought the beauty for the outside in. We enjoyed the fishing and ducks at the dock by the house. We rode bikes every day into Sun river and up to Benham falls. It was tool cold to canoe or kayak but that would have been awesome .We will return to Sunriver and explore more of the area in the future. Thanks for a great weekend!
The River Song Sanctuary on the River and it was great. My friends and I had rented the location as a home base while we competed in the Pacific Crest Sports Weekend ½ Marathon. Walking from the house to Sun River is do able but takes time. I would estimate it being about 2 ½ miles to the Village. The house had everything we needed. We did use the canoe and kayak. The river was great and we found a neat side stream to explore. There is also great access to the river just to the left of the dock for swimming and sitting on the shore. The grounds of the home were great and the view from the deck was very enjoyable. We spent an entire afternoon sitting on the deck enjoying the view and BBQ.
My husband and I are looking forward to the next time we can visit. The layout of the house is very linear. In order to get out of the back bedroom you have to walk through the other sleeping areas. I would suggest having the early risers sleeping towards the front of the house.
The house is also full of great art work. I really enjoyed spending time admiring the paintings. On a side note there is a Teepee in the front yard that can be rented. I would suggest contacting the owner if interested.
This home is in the heart of outdoor activities as well as shopping, dinning, floating on the river, skiing, hiking, biking, exploring and so much more. Two miles to the Sunriver Resort, but much quieter here with more sunshine and view. Close to everything, but closer to nature than most places. You have just found the best kept secret in the area!
