Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

If you want to unplug from society and truly relax - this home is perfect! We loved every minute of our stay - from the happy chickens, mules, birds, to the complete peace and quiet. We enjoyed fires every night and looking at the stars in the hot tub. The home is very comfortable and has everything you need. This is our second time staying in one of Laura's homes and we will definitely be back!

Wonderful weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

What an awesome little getaway. We came up the weekend of Easter to getaway from the city, unplug ( no internet or signal for miles), unwind and reconnect as a family. Although the weather was iffy, one day being 60's and rainy to snowing on our last day, we were still able to enjoy all the amenties. Loved the hot tub & all the cabin had to offer. So much more spacious than pics show. Laura stocked her cabin with so many essentials, we now know next time, we don't have to pack as much. The highlight of the trip for both my teens & toddlers were the chickens. Very friendly & loved collecting eggs each morning. Just a few mile drive to the beautiful waterfalls. Be careful, no GPS signal and we did get a little lost on the way back. Laura was very friendly, stopping in to check on us & made sure we have fire wood even with the wet weather! Cant wait to go back in the summer and experience all the lake activities.

SO MUCH FUN - SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

  • 4 of 5

This is a 10/10 for us. Three of my closest friends and I had a girls getaway weekend here at the end of March. Yes, the winter was brutal and it did indeed snow but we loved the house, the property, the animals, EVERYTHING so much that the snowy/cold weather didn't even matter. The house is spacious but cozy and has everything you need. We enjoyed fresh eggs in the morning and had so much fun watching and petting the donkeys. We can't wait to come back in the summer or fall and see how beautiful this place is then. Laura is a superb owner - she stopped by to say hello and make sure everything was going okay. Totally recommend this to those looking for a secluded and peaceful experience. Thanks, Laura!

Super, fantastic, excellent, loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at the beautiful cabin. It was very comfortable and spacious. Loved all the animals and the scenery. The chickens were very hospitable and sat with us in the mornings and evenings while we enjoyed coffee. The mules and the mini were spoiled by us - we bought lots of apples, celery and carrots for them. Ike and Buster fought like brothers for attention and veggies. Brown and Midnight were a little more shy but eventually we earned their trust. fresh blueberries from the backyard were so tasty. Laura and her family were very kind - I wish I had them as neighbors!

Nicely tucked away

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in the area so we had no expectations. The property is about 15-20 minutes from the actual Lake, however we liked the fat that it was hidden away and very quiet. The place is a very good size, with a kitchen immediately upon entering, large living room, huge picnic style table, and 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom off the kitchen. There is also a functioning laundry room. The rear yard is large and the hot tub is close to the home, with the fire pit towards the rear yard. Overall a very clean, nicely maintained property.

The owner, Laura, was very accomodating and met us with her mother when we pulled up. She was nice enough to bring us extra firewood on night 2 because we kept the fire going for so long on night 1. Day 2 was spent at Swallow Falls, which was about 10 minutes away. Highly recommend that. Bugs weren't bad, we kept a citronella candle going at the hot tub just to reduce them. The donkeys and chickens were friendly for the most part, and it was nice getting fresh eggs from a stubborn chicken each morning. We plan on returning with our kids later in the summer. Thanks again!
